The soft glow of a television illuminated the dim bedroom as the morning news echoed through the quiet house.

His mother's voice shattered the atmosphere, instantly pulling him out of the game.

Adams removed the sleek black VR helmet from his head and sighed in disappointment.

"So close..."

He had no choice. Whenever his mother called him, it meant his morning gaming session in Crimson Online was over and it was time to prepare for school. Over the past few weeks, that had become their agreement, and Adams had never broken it.

"Finally... I reached the Level Seventy beauty," Adams muttered as he stretched lazily.

"ADAMS!" his mother shouted again from downstairs.

"You'll be late for school!"

"I'm coming!" he shouted back and glanced at the digital clock beside his bed.

7:20 A.M. Only forty minutes remained before classes began.

"...Already?" With another sigh, he placed the VR helmet on its stand before walking toward the small desk beside his window, where a worn leather diary rested with a pen on top.

Adams took a deep breath as the smile on his face slowly disappeared. Then he opened the diary and began to write while muttering the words aloud.

"August 7. Another amazing morning inside Crimson Online, and another disappointing morning in real life."

He took a deep breath as he continued writing.

"In the game world, I'm known by people around the world for clearing SS-rank dungeons, defeating higher-tier monsters, and sleeping with the sexiest NPCs. Guilds fight over me, beautiful women smile whenever I appear, and everyone loves and respects me there."

His grip on the pen tightened as he continued.

"But outside the game world, I'm just Adams, the skinny guy who's always bullied because I'm weak. It's my final year of high school, and I've never even held a girl's hand.
