“Yemima, come here.”

The sun had just begun to rise in the east when Adrian stepped out of the door.

Yemima was standing in front of him, on alert as she watched everything around her.

Since Yemima and the ten soldiers were undead, they didn't need to eat or rest. However, Adrian knew that the knight hadn't fully recovered her strength after fighting the monster the previous day.

And since Adrian had no idea how to restore the knight's strength, he could only bet on one thing, something he had been thinking about since last night.

“Yes, my lord.”

Turning around, Yemima immediately knelt on the ground and lowered her head.

Could this work on her too?

The question kept echoing in Adrian's mind as he stared at his palm.

The Legendary Touch. It was the only thing he could rely on right now.

But it worked on Darla. It should have the same effect on her, shouldn't it?

Setting aside his doubts, Adrian placed his palm on the knight's shoulder.

Bzzzz!

[Legendary Touch successful. Target has undergone a mysterious transformation.]

What?

Adrian's eyes widened. His body tensed as shock and joy washed over him simultaneously. He hadn't expected his first attempt to succeed right away.

A golden light enveloped the knight's body.

However, unlike before, this light persisted for nearly a full minute before gradually fading away, starting from her head and moving downward.

“You... you've become whole?”

Adrian's eyes widened even further.

The transformation seemed to have done more than simply restore the knight's strength. Her physical appearance had also changed dramatically.

Although Yemima's hood still covered her head, Adrian could see that her skeletal face was now covered with healthy, intact flesh. It wasn't just her face, either. Her neck and both hands were now completely covered in flesh as well.

Rather than an undead creature, Yemima now looked entirely human. And not only was she an exceptionally beautiful woman with a tall, slender figure, but Adrian could also sense that the powerful aura radiating from the knight had grown even stronger.

Yemima had transformed into an exceptionally formidable warrior.

“I...”

Yemima seemed to realize that something had changed about her body. Raising her hands, she furrowed her brows in utter astonishment as she examined what had just happened.

Instead of bare bones, her hands were now covered in flesh. Her skin was not only exceptionally fair and smooth, but the knight could also feel the power coursing beneath it had increased several times over.

However, her shock didn't last long.

“Thank you for granting me this blessing, my lord. I swear that whatever you ask of me, I will carry it out without question.”

Removing her hood, she bowed to Adrian once more. Now that she had become human, she no longer needed to hide her face. She had only done so before to avoid frightening her lord.

That wasn't the only change, either. Her voice had also transformed completely. Instead of sounding horrifying, she now had the melodious voice of a young woman.

“Adrian, you did it to her too?”

Darla approached them, her eyes sparkling as well.

It wasn't just that she no longer felt slightly unnerved standing near Yemima. Darla could also see that the knight's strength had increased dramatically.

“She's now at Diamond tier. Even if we encounter monsters like that bear again, she won't have the slightest difficulty dealing with them.”

“Thank you, my lady. I will always protect you and Lord Galael.”

“Alright. We'd better set off now. We need to collect as many Stones as possible.”

Adrian slung his quiver over his back and prepared to leave. Just then, Darla placed a hand on his shoulder.

“Shouldn't Yemima come with us? If another Gold-tier monster attacks, we won't have to worry.”

“You're right,” Adrian replied after thinking for a moment.

He had been so concerned about Yemima's condition that he had completely forgotten about that.

Besides, with Yemima accompanying them, they would be able to hunt more monsters.

“However, there's something I need to do first.”

Adrian approached one of the undead soldiers.

Seeing him approach, the creature also knelt on the ground, just as Yemima had done.

If it worked on Yemima, why wouldn't it work on him? Adrian thought. The results should be no different, right?

“Transform!”

[Legendary Touch successful. Target has undergone a mysterious transformation.]

As Adrian placed his palm on the soldier's head, a golden light enveloped his body.

“Yes!”

Just as it had with Yemima, the light took a full minute to fade away.

“What? He didn't turn human?”

Adrian was slightly taken aback. Instead of becoming human, why had the soldier retained his skeletal form? The only difference was that his body had grown considerably larger.

The soldier had become taller and more imposing.

Initially, he had been slightly shorter than Adrian. Now, he stood approximately two and a half meters tall, and his armor had also become far more imposing on his enlarged frame.

[Legendary Touch has increased the target's combat prowess and speed. His strength is now at the peak of Gold tier.]

“Alright! No problem! Whatever this is, it's still pretty amazing!”

A broad smile spread across Adrian's face. With a soldier this powerful, he no longer had to worry about anything happening to his shelter while he was away with Yemima.

“Hey, you. Come here.”

Adrian called over another soldier. Since he still had one use left, he might as well make use of it too.

“Yes, my lord.”

When the golden light faded from the soldier's body, he looked just as imposing and robust as the previous one.

“While I'm away hunting, don't let anyone approach this shelter.”

“You have nothing to worry about, my lord. We will defend this place with our lives.”

An hour later, the three of them were deep inside the forest. For some reason, however, finding monsters seemed much more difficult this time than it had been over the previous two days.

The first day had been fairly easy, while the second had been more difficult. Today seemed to be the most challenging of all.

“Yemima, search the entire forest all the way to the foot of that mountain. Report back to me if you find anything.”

Unwilling to walk any farther without finding anything, Adrian sent the knight ahead.

“Yes, my lord.”

Whoosh!

With her increased strength, the knight was now much faster than before. In the blink of an eye, her figure had disappeared from sight.

Fife minutes later, the knight returned and stood before Adrian.

“Forgive me, my lord. I've circled the foot of the mountain, but I couldn't find anything.”

“You do realize you've interrupted my morning, don't you? Arthur, you'd better not disappoint me.”“I would never do that, my lord.”The white-haired man bowed before presenting the holographic screen in his hands to Kaelen.“My lord, look! Of the ninety-nine shelters, only eighteen remain! That means the number of people opposing you has decreased significantly!”“Excellent!”A broad smile spread across Kaelen's face before he burst into laughter. As a lord, he could actually open his own screen and see what was happening for himself. But, of course, he was too lazy to do so.“With so many lords surrendering to me, wouldn't it be more appropriate to consider me a king rather than a mere lord?”That was what he thought.“Besides, why should I bother checking everything myself? That's their job! As my subordinates, they're the ones who should take care of it for me!”All he had to do was relax and enjoy himself while others handled everything. Just as they were doing for him that morni

“So these will be exchanged for Bronze-tier soldiers? No problem. With them joining my forces, my army will only continue to grow.”After all the bear and Abomination corpses had been thrown into the altar, only the zombie corpses remained. Although they were the most numerous, they were also the lowest-tier monsters.Even so, the thought of a massive army of undead soldiers marching before him made Adrian’s heart race with excitement.“What? No soldiers are appearing?”His expression immediately changed when ten zombie corpses were thrown in, yet nothing emerged.Instead, the altar produced a hundred Attribute Stones. That meant he would receive ten Stones for every zombie corpse.“All right. It’s fine. At least I’m getting something out of this.”Although he couldn’t hide his disappointment, it wasn’t as though he had gained nothing. There were around three thousand zombie corpses, which meant he had now obtained thirty thousand Attribute Stones.“With reserves like these, I won’t h

“Your strategy was truly brilliant, my lord!”Yemima was helping several injured undead soldiers rest in a special room on the first floor. Around half of the army had sustained serious injuries. Although none of them were life-threatening, the soldiers still needed complete rest to recover.“We managed to kill so many monsters! We didn’t let a single one of them escape!”Drake spoke excitedly. Although his facial expression was difficult to read, consisting of nothing more than a skull, his voice was filled with joy.“I can hardly wait for the next Evernight!”Jaxon was quick to add his own comment. Both generals had also suffered serious injuries after fighting the Blood Bears. However, compared to the victory they had achieved, their injuries meant nothing.“Get some rest.”Adrian patted his generals on the shoulders, a broad smile spreading across his face.“You fought very well tonight. You deserve some rest.”A faint light appeared in the eastern sky. Sunrise was approaching.Al

“Yemima said the monsters’ withdrawal was deliberate preparation for Evernight, didn’t she? That means if we’ve encountered everything from zombies to bears, there’s a good chance those are the very monsters that will come after us, right?”An hour before Evernight began, Adrian had already devised a plan to lure as many monsters as possible toward his shelter. He hadn’t done so without making preparations.“Zombies and Abominations are still manageable. Those Blood Bears are the hardest ones to defeat.”His undead army would have no trouble holding back the zombies and Abominations. But as for the bears, only Yemima would likely be able to deal with them.“But with the turrets’ help, it shouldn’t be a problem either,” Darla said. “Even if the cannons can’t kill the bears, they should certainly be able to scare them away.”Darla was simply trying to be realistic. Killing a bear was extremely difficult. Scaring one away was already a considerable achievement. There was no need to kill

Growl!Emerging from the mist, an Abomination appeared, wielding a hammer and a mace. It wasn't just one or two. A dozen of them emerged simultaneously.“Huh, trash! If all you can do is rely on your body to attack me, then you deserve to die!”Slash!Slash! The Northern General swung his arms in succession, his sword flashing through the air at incredible speed. With a single flurry of strikes, two Abominations collapsed to the ground, their bodies severed.Slash!Slash!Elsewhere, the Southern General did the same. Leaping into the air, he managed to cleave through two Abominations at once before immediately turning to attack another monster. At Gold tier, fighting these Silver-tier monsters posed no difficulty whatsoever.More Abominations continued to emerge. To deal with them, both generals moved with greater alertness and speed, covering their soldiers whenever necessary.Growl!Another growl, deeper and louder than before, echoed from within the mist.Rather than feeling afraid

“The countdown begins.”The game system's voice echoed across the sky as the giant digital display showed 00:00:10.“Ten.”“Nine.”“Eight.”“Seven.”“Six.”Inside the room, Darla watched the computer screen and saw that the mist was now only a few hundred meters away from the outer perimeter. Given its speed, there was no way the countdown above them could be wrong. In just a few seconds, it would reach them.“Five.”“Four.”At the same time, Adrian stood in the second-floor lobby with his arms folded, his gaze fixed straight ahead. His expression was cold, and his eyes conveyed nothing but calm composure. The point in front of him marked the outer boundary of the region. And the fact that his greenhouse faced directly toward it seemed to suggest that the structure had been designed to confront the monsters that were about to arrive.“If a lord has truly been brought to this New World with the destiny of exterminating monsters, then so be it. I'll fight every last one of them.”“Three
