The city skyline shimmered under the dying glow of dusk. Ethan sat in the back of his sleek black Maybach, his fingers drumming lightly on the armrest. The hum of the city felt different tonight. Quieter. Like it was holding its breath.

“Host,” the system’s voice suddenly rang in his mind, sharper than usual. “New hidden quest detected. Warning: This task will directly impact your survival.”

Ethan’s eyes narrowed. “Go on.”

Hidden Quest: Eliminate the Invisible Hand. Time limit: 72 hours. Reward: Shadow Authority Trait. Penalty for failure: All accumulated traits will be locked for 14 days.

Fourteen days without his enhancements? That was practically asking to be killed in the city’s cutthroat underworld.

“Details,” Ethan demanded.

The system’s holographic panel flashed in his mind. It displayed a map with three glowing red points scattered across the city. “The Invisible Hand is a covert network controlling political puppets, black-market trade, and assassins. They have marked you for elimination. Neutralize their leadership before they move.”

“Assassins…” Ethan smirked faintly. “They’ll regret aiming at me.”

From the driver’s seat, Mason glanced in the rearview mirror. “Boss, you’re smiling again. That smile usually means someone’s about to lose their empire… or their head.”

“They’re about to lose both,” Ethan replied coldly. “Mason, prepare the team. We’re moving tonight.”

Hours later, inside an abandoned warehouse on the east side of the city, the smell of rust and blood hung in the air. Ethan stood before a tied-up man—one of the Invisible Hand’s mid-level operatives. The man was sweating bullets.

“You… you don’t know what you’re getting into!” the captive stammered. “They’ll bury you without a trace!”

Ethan crouched in front of him, his gaze calm but lethal. “No one buries me. The moment they try, I burn the coffin… with them inside it.”

He grabbed the man’s jaw, forcing him to meet his eyes. “Where’s your leader?”

The man shook his head frantically. “If I talk, I’m dead—”

CRACK! Ethan’s palm slammed into the man’s chest, knocking the wind out of him. The system pinged.

Micro-Interrogation Bonus Activated. Temporary Skill: Pressure Surge (Increases intimidation effectiveness by 50%).

The man broke almost instantly. “N-North Dock! Private yacht! They’re leaving tomorrow night!”

Ethan released him and stood. “See, that wasn’t so hard.” He turned to Mason. “Dispose of him. Quietly.”

By midnight, Ethan was on the rooftop of a luxury hotel overlooking the North Dock. The air was crisp, and the lights from the water reflected like shattered stars. He checked his watch—two minutes until the yacht departed.

The system chimed again.

Optional Bonus Objective:Infiltrate without alerting security. Reward: Stealth Level +1.

A small smile tugged at Ethan’s lips. “Let’s make this interesting.”

He moved like a shadow, leaping from rooftop to rooftop, then landing silently on a cargo crate near the dock. Every step was calculated. Every movement invisible.

As he approached the yacht, a faint sound caught his attention—a sharp click from somewhere above.

His instincts screamed.

Ethan dove sideways just as a silenced bullet tore through the air where his head had been.

On a distant rooftop, a dark figure adjusted their sniper rifle.

The system’s voice grew urgent. “Host… the Invisible Hand has deployed an S-Rank assassin. Codename: Ghost Widow.”

Ethan’s smirk returned, colder than the night breeze. “Finally… a challenge.”
