2024-04-13 19:17:41“Sebastien, I love you and I can't wait till the day we'll finally consummate this marriage and then I'll carry your child in my womb…” Isabelle said as she did the final button of the white crisp shirt Sebastien was wearing.
Sebastien laid there not saying a single thing because of his inability to. He had been paralyzed for a while and also lost his speech.
Isabelle stroked his beards with her well manicured nails. He is such a pretty man. She thought to herself.
Tears of pain rolled down her cheeks, her heart filled with anger towards the person that made her husband to be in this state when she looked at him.
Sebastien's head was rolled to the side and he had a faraway look in his eyes.
“Seb, who did this to you? What happened to you? How will we ever be able to avenge the people that made you like this” Isabelle lamented in anger.
Three years ago, an incident happened to sebastien after the wedding, on the night of the wedding.
She remembered him telling her that he had a very important business proposal that evening. Only for them to find him a few hours later, beaten up and unable to speak.
Isabelle's family members on hearing the news of what happened to Sebastien insisted that she should leave the marriage and they'll look for a suitable suitor for her.
They claimed they couldn't bear the shame of having a crippled son-in-law.
Isabelle insisted on staying with him. She loved Sebastien so much that she couldn't just leave him like that.
Isabelle's grandfather, the patriarch of the family, stripped Isabelle of her position as the head of the business conglomerate. This ridiculed her tremendously.
She remembered how she spent almost all her life savings going to the most prestigious doctors in America but they all couldn't figure out what was wrong with Sebastien.
Two months ago she gave up after all her efforts were in vain. And by that time the news of the mysterious condition of Sebastien had spread.
“Sebastien, it isn't easy for me. Grandfather sent me out of the house and also withdrew most of his financial aid. We are so close to being stranded. He said the only way I'll be able to regain all these is if I divorce you”
“But I need us to consummate this marriage so I'll be fulfilled before I divorce you”
She leaned closer in an attempt to kiss him when she was interrupted.

The metal door was suddenly flung open and Theodore Wilson, Isabelle's immediate younger brother walked in with a mocking smile on his face.
“So you're still with this crippled fool” he said with an arrogant tone.
“What do you want?! Why are you here? If you just came to insult him you may as well take your leave” Isabelle flared up not being able to bear the insult any more.
Theodore smirked “chill, stop getting riled up by this non-entity”
“Non-entity?!” Isabelle repeated after him not believing the words that were coming out from him. She couldn't believe Theodore had forgotten what Sebastien did for him when he was still in his right frame.
“After all he did for you still refer to him as a non-entity” Isabelle said in annoyance.
Theodore hissed “Anyway, Grandfather said I should give you a last warning that if you don't leave this fool he is going to withdraw all his financial aid”
And with that he left the room.
Isabelle sighed and turned to look at Sebastien who now had drool at the corner of his mouth.
She took out a tissue and wiped it off, her hand lingering on his face as she remembered how hard Sebastien had worked to make sure Theodore got into college.
Sebastien consulted lots of people and even spent quite a lot of money so that Theodore could further his education but now this is how Theodore could pay him back.
She didn't expect such behavior from him.
Isabelle's phone rang and she picked it up
“Where the hell are you?!” her mother shouted immediately she picked up the phone.
“I'm with Sebastien ” She replied curtly
“Haven't I told you to do away with that imbecile? Why do you like stirring up your grandfather's wrath”
“Mum. Please….”
“Keep quiet! I don't know what you see in him. When there are other single and capable bachelors out there. Why did you reject charles? Charles was perfect but you were so blinded by your stupid love for this imbecile. Knowing how important your grandfather's finance is to us you better make the right decision ”
“Mum, Sebastien has done a lot for us. Why do people forget so easily “ Isabelle sobbed
“That was when he was capable and now he is no more capable so he is of no essence to us. Can't you see your cousin Miranda?! She isn't bringing shame upon the family?! Why are you rubbing the family's name in the mud….” she rambled on and on
Isabelle couldn't say anything, she just sobbed and wished she had a more understanding family.
“Crying won't bring back our funds. Just use your head and do the right thing. Your grandfather's birthday is around the corner and it's the most perfect avenue to impress him and regain his favour. Don't flop this. Prepare something nice to present to him and don't even think of bringing that imbecile to the party”
The call ended abruptly.
Isabelle was filled with great sadness as she thought about what she could possibly present to her grandfather.
She didn't even have enough funds to get anything extravagant and grandfather was a very hard man to please.
She turned to look at Sebastien who appeared to be asleep. Her heart broke anytime she remembered who he was before and how this mysterious condition has reduced him to who he is now.
But Isabelle was determined to not get affected by whatever people thought about her decision to stay with him.
She promised to always be there for him
