Chapter 6: Using God's Eye

Avalon took a deep breath and then he breathe out. His surroundings became clear to him. He could tell the spot his comrades in battle where and his opponent not all but to a certain degree.

He look at the Undead Commander eyes which had only darkness inside. He had to make sure he was the one that kills the Commander to acquire the reward and point.

[God’s Eye: Activated]

The world sharpened — every grain of dust, every flicker of light off rusted metal came into focus. Time slowed.

The army of skeleton raised the rusty old weapons they had arms they charged for battle. They weren’t looking strong but they were for sure troublesome

Ryan swore loudly. “You’ve gotta be kidding me.”

“Form up!” Xavier barked, sword igniting with a silver blaze. “Back-to-back!”

Avalon moved without hesitation, boots scraping on fractured stone. April slid beside him, bow drawn, arrow nocked. Lex knelt low, hands already glowing with a pale blue energy, ready to set traps.

The Commander stepped forward. Its body groaned like a collapsing building, claws carving furrows into the stone floor. A deep, guttural growl rattled the air before it lunged — faster than something its size should move.

Avalon’s golden slit-pupil eyes tracked every motion.

> [Absolute Perception Lv5] – Movement Prediction Engaged

He saw the angle of the strike before it even came.

“Down!” Avalon shouted.

The claw swept over their heads, smashing into the wall, spraying them with rock shards. The sound shook their skulls.

“Go!” Xavier charged, blade flashing upward in a silver arc, aiming for the Commander’s neck.

The monster caught the blade between two claws.

CRACK.

It snapped the sword in half and swung with its other arm.

Xavier barely avoided being bisected, rolling across the floor.

Avalon’s hand crackled with electricity.

> [Lightning Cloak Lv5 – Activated]

The air roared as arcs of blue lightning burst around him, coating his body. His speed surged.

He vanished from sight.

The next heartbeat — he was behind the Commander, fist slamming into its spine.

A shockwave rippled outward, sending nearby skeletons clattering into walls.

The Commander barely staggered, its armored spine absorbing the worst of the hit.

“Tough bastard,” Avalon muttered, flipping back to avoid a retaliatory swipe.

The skeleton army was almost on them.

“Lex!” April shouted.

“I’m on it!” Lex slammed both palms to the ground. A glowing ring flared beneath the nearest wave of skeletons — then exploded in an upward blast of frost. The first ten froze solid mid-step before shattering into pieces.

April’s bow thrummed — three arrows loosed in rapid succession. Each struck an exposed skull, piercing straight through the glowing ember eyes.

Avalon caught movement to his left.

A skeleton with a cracked helmet had leapt high, sword raised for April’s neck.

His eyes narrowed.

> [Instant Attraction – Activated]

The pull yanked the skeleton’s blade into his waiting hand. Without slowing, Avalon spun and decapitated the creature with its own weapon before tossing the blade away.

Ryan bellowed and slammed his heavy shield forward, crushing two more skeletons into the wall.

“Keep them off me!” Xavier’s voice cut through the chaos — he’d circled back, now wielding a shorter secondary blade. His target: the Commander’s knees.

Avalon saw the plan instantly.

He blurred forward, drawing the Commander’s attention with a feint to the head. It swung — he dodged — Xavier’s blade slashed low, biting into the joint.

The monster roared, staggering.

Dozens of skeletons collapsed around them — their link to the Commander flickering.

Avalon grinned.

> [Judgment Gaze – Activated]

He turned his eyes full on the nearest skeleton cluster. Golden light flared. The creatures froze mid-strike, paralysis locking their bones in place. Then — a pulse of fear rippled through them, making their attacks sloppy.

Avalon darted between them like lightning, breaking skulls with precise blows.

But the Commander wasn’t done.

Its chest plates shifted — then split open.

A wave of black mist poured out, washing over the skeleton army. Their ember eyes burned brighter, movements becoming faster, more aggressive.

The tide reversed.

April’s arrows started bouncing off enhanced armor.

Lex’s traps shattered under the rush.

Ryan was knocked flat, shield spinning away.

“Fall back!” Xavier barked.

Avalon’s gaze snapped upward.

The ceiling above was already cracked from the earlier impact. One wrong hit could bring the whole section down.

That gave him an idea.

“Xavier!” Avalon called. “On my mark — hit it hard.”

Xavier didn’t question. He trusted warriors in battle.

Avalon sprinted up the Commander’s arm like a running current, lightning sparking with each step. It tried to swat him off — but his [Omnidirectional Sight] let him predict and dodge every attempt.

He reached its shoulder — then leapt straight upward, twisting mid-air.

[Instant Repulsion – Activated]

The burst slammed into the cracked ceiling.

Stone and debris rained down.

“Now!” Avalon roared.

Xavier’s blade — glowing silver — slashed upward. A massive slab of stone broke free, smashing down onto the Commander’s back.

The monster howled, collapsing to one knee.

Avalon landed in front of it, golden eyes blazing.

> [Divine Copy – Activated]

He mimicked Xavier’s earlier silver flame technique, coating his own fist with the same energy.

Then he drove it straight into the Commander’s face.

The explosion of light and force rocked the hall. The Commander reeled back, half its skull caved in.

But still — it lived.

It let out a roar so loud it rattled their teeth. The remaining skeleton army converged from all directions.

“Are we ever going to find this temple?” April complained, shielding her eyes from the sun. Her boots sank slightly into the hot sand as she moved forward beside four others. A bow bounced against her back, and two daggers rested by her hips. “It’s been hours.” “Then Lex shouldn’t have lost it,” Ryan growled, sweat dripping down his neck as his armor clanked with every step. The desert heat wasn’t kind to metal. He looked ready to stab something preferably Lex. Lex moved away from Ryan and adjusted the edge of his cloak, trying to keep the dust out of his face. His voice was low, lazy and dry like the wind around them. “It... was stolen.” “Enough with the blaming. Let’s keep moving,” a calm voice cut through the rising argument. It wasn’t loud, but it stopped everyone instantly. Something in that voice held weight. Command. Power. Xavier walked a few steps ahead, his cloak barely fluttering in the hot desert wind. His presence alone settled them. There was no question — he was th

There was no pain, no injuries, no wound, everything was smooth, he was fine. He touched his face, trying to assess his body, and he felt he was younger, like a teenager.
