I was having a nap in one of my favorite trees when I suddenly felt an unknown but powerful energy around me. I instantly opened my eyes and glanced around the place I sat, but there was nothing out of the ordinary. Just the tall green trees with different colored flowers. And the still lake beside the tree I sat on.

Still, I felt the unknown energy around me. Immediately, I thought about the book of souls and immediately glanced at my side.

To my utmost bewilderment, the book shuns in bright colored lights.

I remembered what I was taught about the book of souls. Whenever there is a bright light, it means there's a soul to be collected. I smiled happily and reached for the book. But just as I placed my hands on the book, the powers emanating from the book threw me off balance and I fell off the tree.

"Azreal, remember, Do not panic. That is a scary book, and it needs utmost peace and calmness," my father advised in my thoughts.

I shut my eyes and maintained the utmost silence inside me.

When I noticed I was calm enough, I slowly ascended the tree and picked up the book quickly. This time it accepted me. I took my time in opening the book. And then, it took me to a page where a name was written in bold, "Name: Mathew Gordon. Aged: 75. I took my gaze down to the last part which had two options. The first one is written as "Accept" and the second is written as Retain"

I noticed that the Accept option had a red pointer and that indicates that the man was due for collection.

"Azreal, your mission starts now."

"Yes father," I bowed my head before leaving the Immortal realm. Since I possessed the powers of my father, it was easy for me to leave the Immortal realm. No one has left the Immortal realm for the mortal realm unless through the permission of my father, which had never happened in history.

Getting to the mortal world, I was dazed for a moment. It was different from what I knew from my childhood. The last time I visited the mortal world was about ten centuries ago. Back then, things were different from now.

I saw an object which seemed to have some strange legs that made it run faster. Father would know about it. But then I am advised not to care about the things of the earth and just do my job.

I looked around the surface of the mortal realm, looking for the man. Just as I was looking for the first man, the book began to vibrate in my arms. I opened up and there I saw the names of about a hundred people. That means I will have to collect the souls of the people since the book keeps showing bright light.

I smiled inwardly. Now my job has fully started. Since I was an immortal being going to the mortal realm was easy. I can't get caught because Compared to their body, I'm invisible compared to them. They cannot see me, but I can see them. I guess that's an added advantage as my father's son.

I went down to earth and began collecting the souls just as the one recorded in the book of souls I carried with me.

I never imagined that the collection of souls was that interesting. After collecting the souls of those the book had recorded. I finally took them back to the Immortal realm where their fate will be decided by my father.

I decided to have a little rest with my spirit animal, Azure...Azure is a white unicorn given to me by my father. My brother was also gifted with one as well. His was blue and beautiful, but Black would always be who he had always been.

He argued my unicorn was much more special than his and with good attributes.

I saw nothing different between both unicorns. They looked pretty much the same in my eyes. The only difference is the colors of their alicorns. Mine has a blue alicorn, while Black has a white alicorn. So, in a way, our unicorns complemented each other.

It was meant to be our companion and the medium through which we journey to the mortal world and around the Immortal world as well. These unicorns are only owned by me and my brother and hence the reason why they are special.

"Azure, are you prepared to travel to the world of the immortals with me?" My unicorn bowed its head in agreement. I patted it on the back and quickly hopped on the back of Azure.

We journeyed to the mortal world through the portal which I opened using my powers.

The moment we came into the mortal world, our ferns changed. My unicorn suddenly became a sword in my hands, which I quickly hid away. My beastly form transformed and I became a mortal man without clothes, I was as bare as a mortal child being born for the first time.

But then, I had no reason to worry since I was still invisible. I took a glance at the book I was holding, only to find out more names and ages popping from the book. It seems I have a whole lot of souls to collect.

"Azure, let's get to work now," Azreal tucked his sword by his side and moved like the end on the surface of the mortal world, searching for souls to collect.

Azreal went to the hospitals as the book directed, and there he found some souls who were due to be taken. Those who were ready to be taken did so without protest, while those who were not ready to be taken tried to run away. These souls are known as wandering souls who do not want to be taken to the underworld. They wished to live alongside humans even though their time was up. Azreal used his sword which when directed at these wandering souls becomes a flaming fire and a magnet that catapults them to him.

I stood dumbstruck at what I saw. Ever since I worked as an agent pursuing this case, I've never seen anyone who actually commanded beasts. I began to wonder if he was the faceless Saviour everyone was talking about. But for some reason, this faceless Saviour looked nothing like the one I saw on the news. He had this dangerous and unnatural aura, just like what I'd perceived that night. He commanded the monsters and that's exactly what caught my attention. How on earth was he able to do that?"Hey, August!" I blinked but didn't turn around to answer Fox because of what I saw. I was still very much in shock."Where are the monsters? We heard their voices just some minutes ago?" He asked. I turned around to face my partners, who looked around in a confused state."There are no monsters anymore.""Huh? How's that possible? We clearly heard the growls of these monsters. Have they, perhaps, escaped?" Jed asked while staring at me, desperate for answers.I lifted my gun up to them."See? I

  • Take Me To Your Master

I woke up instantly at the sudden burn I felt. "Black!" He must be close by and probably causing a ruckus due to the sudden burn I felt. This was it. I've been trying to find him all this while. Who would have thought that I'd find him soon? I quickly left my bed and dashed out of the house. I stared at the car which I had bought and shook my head. There was no need to take a car when I needed to find someone like Black. I quickly made myself invisible and teleported to the police where I sensed him. I was baffled beyond measure when I found myself in front of a huge shopping mall which had been destroyed. This was indeed the work of Black. I could see the immortal blue flame which he used in causing the destruction. What a pity, so this was all the ruling he wanted. I laid my eyes on the mortals who had no souls and shut my eyes. Black has indeed caused more than enough damage in the human world. I need to take him away as soon as possible before the whole of humanity perishes i

  • You Must Save Everyone

After having a long day at work, I decided to head grocery shopping. I found out Jed was actually talking about the weekend. It was easy for someone like me to forget if there are weekends or not. That's because I don't have much to do at the weekends. After getting groceries from the shop, I quickly headed back home. I made myself some steak and a bottle of wine to calm my nerves. Just then, I perceived something unnatural around me. This was new. I've never once perceived such a powerful presence before. I walked over to the window where the scent was imminent but found no one around. It can't be that the monster had found me. I quickly took out my pistol. I had no idea if a pistol would work on him, because if a gun worked on him, those agents wouldn't be reported dead. I'm sure they had no chance against the monster. "I slowly walked over to my door and opened it, but found no one out there. I sniffled the air, and the scent was gone. I wondered if I was the one who must have p

  • Where Are Your Things?

I have been in the wilderness of nothingness for centuries and I had no idea what was happening beyond the wilderness. I'm also ignorant about the havoc Black must have caused in the mortal world. Knowing what Black was capable of, I'm sure he must have caused unrest in the mortal world. I wished father would realize what had been happening and sent for me. It's been centuries. It can't be that Black had succeeded in taking over the immortal realm and holding our father captive just as he claimed he would. This was because father would have sent for me if he had found out what Black was up to. Just as I was thinking of the possibility of what might have happened in the immortal realm, the fog covering the wilderness suddenly cleared up. "Azreal, my son!" I immediately kneeled, throwing my face to the ground in a bow of respect. "Yes father," I replied with great delight. "I have neglected you for so long, and today, I've come to tell you that I've seen who the real sinner was

  • The Monster And The Faceless Saviour

I quickly dashed to the other side of the street, and what I saw, immediately sent me thumbling backwards, frighteningly. I quickly found another dark area to hide away from the street lights. The person screaming was a lady, and something like a monster stood in front of her. I saw a dark fog like that of an evil flame, which possesses people. He grabbed her by the neck and pulled her up in the air, so her legs weren't touching the ground anymore. He seemed to be strangling her while she gasped for air. Cold shivers ran down my spine as I watched the heart-wrenching scene in front of me. I should be helping this lady, but here I am shrieking with fear. What will become of me if I go out? I'm sure whatever it was might also strangle me to death. But I just can't watch it take another soul right in front of me. It would be cowardly of me to watch that happen."L..let the woman go," I said in a low tone. I held the metal bar in my hand strongly, just in case it came for me. The m

  • Waiting In The Wrong Street

I quickly walked to class, only to find a rowdy class with everyone talking here and there. This was strange, no matter what happened, the students never got that rowdy and noisy before. "August, you're here," Jedai said, running towards me."What's going on, Jed, why is there so much unrest in school today?""I guess you haven't heard about what happened then?""Huh? W...what happened?" I asked, almost in panic. Juedai breathed a huge sigh and quickly pulled me out of the class to a quiet corner. "It is said that Mr Stone is dead.""What?! Y...you mean the principal?""Exactly!" Jedai answered in a whisper. "His death seemed to be mysterious and weird," Jedai added. "Could you please elaborate on this?""Well, according to the school authorities, the principal stayed up late at night, going through our exam sheets since the exams were coming near, but then, he didn't go back home until midnight. The security guard went to his office to ask if he was going to stay the night but
