“Eliza, we have no choice here. The company will be bankrupt if we don’t do something about it,” Jackson told her as they walked into her office after the meeting.
The company was losing money. And they had no way of saving it. The only way that seemed to be possible was for them to sell it, or at least allow an investor in.
“Think of anything soon. Because we need to keep this company running. Selling it isn’t the best thing here. Allowing an investor to take over is not also possible. There is only one way,” Jackson spoke.
She looked up at him. “Couldn’t you do something about it? You are wealthy. I will give you back the money. Please. You are all I have right now,” she spoke as she touched her head. Thinking long and hard about what has become of her beloved company.
He walks and sat opposite to her, “I would have helped you if I had what it takes. But my father wouldn’t let me because I refused to work at his company and came here. He told me I think I have grown up and he will not give me anything,” he spoke.
“But what can we do about this? I have now where to go. My family had nothing at the moment. The only company that is still running is this one. We need the money to keep running. Can you picture what will happen if we go bankrupt?” She asked him and stood up.
“Well, I have given you an option here. The woman is even old now. She can’t come here. Sell her shares and then things will be sorted out,” he stood up and walked to her.
“You might be right. But I hope you are wrong. We can find something that will help us. Please try. I will try convincing grandmother and mother to sell their shares.” She spoke and took her bag from the table. “I will see you tomorrow,” she spoke.
“Wait, you are walking back home or that loser will come pick you up on his bike!” He smiled.
“We have cars, Jackson. And that was cold what you did,” she spoke and walked out of the office. She passed the women that were talking about Trevor and just glared at them.
The all way home she kept think about what to do to save the family company. It was the only family asset they all delighted in. If it was to go bankrupt, then they were done. She needed to save it. Do something about it if this plan won’t work.
Maybe she should just marry Jackson, and his father will invest in their company. She didn’t even like Trevor. But Jackson was a good person, and he loves her.
She just shook her head as the car entered the yard.
“Eliza, I’m glad you are back home. I need to talk to you about something. Do you have a minute?” Trevor asked before she went in.
“Trevor, I don’t have time for this now. I have way too many things I need to focus on than you. What do you want?” She asked him.
He thought about how to best phrase it and not blew it.
“Are you just going to allow our marriage to end like that? I know you never loved me. But we can make this work out. Please don’t listen to mother-in-law about this,” he spoke.
She just looked at him, “Trevor, we can talk about that some other time. And this can never work out. Between you and me, nothing can happen. Now please excuse me, I’m stressed at the moment,” she spoke and walked inside, but he followed.
“Is everything okay at work?” He asked.
“Nothing is okay. But it’s nothing that concerns you. It’s something you can’t fix. Just go and leave me alone!” She scolded, and went upstairs.
He stood there watching her go. For sure, she looked stressed. And there was nothing he could do to help her. But tomorrow might just change that. Tomorrow, his life might just change for the better.
As he was about to walk outside the mansion, he heard peoples taking loudly in the leaving room. And it sounded like one was her grandmother and the other was Eliza. He walked to eavesdrop.
“Grandmother, there is no other way of saving the company. We need to do something or we are done. This all family is done,” she said.
“I don’t want to be a nobody in this house. My husband left me that company. Why do I need to sell my shares? What about you and your siblings? Those useless people,” she spoke.
After Mr. Noah died. The company was left in grandmother’s care. And he decided the shares of her company between her and he left grandchildren together with her daughter. But only Eliza seemed to pay attention to it. She was the only one that seemed to work. The rest only enjoyed the money.
But grandmother still had more shares. Around thirty percent. The grandchildren had ten each and the daughter had twenty.
“Also mothers shares. We need to keep running or our tea and coffee company will be lost.” She spoke.
“Why don’t you take up Jackson’s offer? That seems to solve the problem better, actually. None of us needs to sell our shares to anyone,” mother-in-law spoke.
“I can’t just accept him because I need money from him. I don’t love him mother. I do care about him, yes. But love him? I don’t know. But I can’t accept him when I need his help,” she spoke.
Trevor wanted to come out of his hiding place. They were talking about him losing his wife to some useless boy. And all because they needed money. This family was corrupt by money, for sure.
But he stayed to listen for more.
“Why not? They are offering. Not you. You need to think about this family and not just about yourself, young lady,” grandmother scolded.
“I won’t do that. Just trust me on this one. We will set the auction date for selling your shares. I will make this right. And I will do whatever you want me to,” she spoke, looking at her mother.
And there was only one thing her mother wanted.
He needed to act soon. Or he might lose his wife. Morning,

CHAPTER 84
She clenched on the floor as she held his head. A blood smile stretched across his face. But she cried even more. How and why was this happening to her and her family? She nearly lost him back then and now she might lose him for good.“It will be fine. Just hang in there,” she said, pressing her hands on the gun wound. Moses stood eyes wide open a few feet away. He looked scared, worried. Mubanga didn’t look any better. She didn’t want any of this. Yes, she wanted to get that freedom she thought she needed. But she didn’t want anyone to die. Not like this. Abigail was the only one looking better. She didn’t seem to be too surprised or as worried as the two. She actually looked relieved. “Eliza…” “Don’t even say anything Moses,” she snapped, looking at him. “You know he would have helped you with whatever you needed if you just talked to him right? Was this really necessary? You could have come and talked to me. Now you have killed our brother and look at my husband. I will make s
CHAPTER 83
Moses was pacing around the living room. His wife sat on the couch with her hands on the sides of her temple—her gun in hand. She looked scared, worried. Could it be that she was guilty about shooting Mateo? But she was heartless, at least that was what Trevor and Eliza thought. Trevor was soothing Eliza as she cried, looking at the body of her brother on the floor. What would she tell her mother and grandmother? What would they even think about her and Trevor now? They already don’t like him, and now this. “Eliza, we will be fine. I won’t let anything happen to you and the baby. I have to die for that to happen…”“Don’t say that,” she looked up at him. “I can’t lose you, too. I won’t lose you as well, Trevor. There is no way I will raise this child alone.”He forced a smile, “I won’t die. We will be fine.”There was silence as he thought about what he was doing. What if his plan fails? What then? He couldn’t risk Moses finding out about what he was doing. Messing up again was nev

They both went running to the living room. And then hit a stop after seeing Mateo on the floor. “Trevor!” Eliza screamed and rushed to hug Trevor. “Mateo! What will I tell our mother? What will I tell his wife and kids?” She cried on his shoulder. He just soothed her as he looked at the blood on the floor. Mateo was gone. Just like that. This was more serious than he imagined. Whatever he thought this was just changed after this. And the next body could be Eliza’s or his if he didn’t play his cards nicely. He needed to think of a better plan to get out of this one. “What happened? I thought you said no killings. Why would you kill Mateo? He is your brother, for God’s sake. Why would you ask your psychopath wife to shoot him?” He snapped, walking to stand a few feet from Moses. “Moses, listen. We talked about this. I was going to do whatever you wanted me to do. And then you were going to leave me and my family the hell alone. But so much for that.”There was silence, Moses looked
CHAPTER 81
His heart was pounding. How did he allow this to happen? Why was this happening? And who the hell was the woman with Alexander? Alexander gestured for them to take their seats. Because he had a gun, it wasn’t like there was a lot they could have done. They just followed suit and took their seats. Eliza held on to Trevor’s harm. This was not happening to her again. As much as she was trying to be strong and not thinking about what happened, it still did, and the thought of it happening again didn’t sound okay with her. She looked at Trevor, and he just smiled, silently telling her it was going to be okay. “Listen man, whatever you need I can…”He scoffed, “you can’t give me crap Trevor. And if I listen to you saying you will do the same thing you did. I didn’t want to do this. I asked you nicely to give me what rightfully belonged to me. But what did you guys do? You played me and my wife like a fool.”“Wife?” They all gasped. “Yes, wife. You thought I wasn’t married. I told you e
CHAPTER 80
The next morning, he woke up and found Eliza wasn’t in bed. And suddenly his heart skipped. He jumped and rushed out of the bedroom, shouting her name. When he couldn’t find her inside, he rushed outside the house. Shouting and hoping she was still alive. How could he allow her to be kidnapped again? How could she have been kidnapped again? And by how? Could have Alexander managed to enter the house and take her? He went around the house, and there was no sign of her. After a while of searching, he went inside the house, got his phone and called her. Luckily, she picked up.“Trevor. Morning,” she answered from the other side. “Where are you? Are you okay?” He demanded, his breath shallow. “I’m at a supermarket. I wanted to get a few things. We were running out of supplies. What is the matter?”“You left without telling me. I got worried. After what happened, I don’t think you should be walking outside alone. You should have woken me up, Eliza. What if Alexander was waiting for y
CHAPTER 79
The room was eerily quiet, his friends didn’t look as anxious as he did though. They knew what was happening and what his board members were going to say. Could they have been thinking of throwing him off the company? He was the one with the most shares, but what if they voted him out? What then? “So here is the thing,” the woman began. “We are old as you can see,” they all laughed except him. “And we can’t keep doing this anymore. We have done our part, and it’s now time for new people to take it up. Right Eliza?” She looked at his wife who just tightened her grip on Trevor’s arm, but nodded. “We, as the board, you excluded, have decided to leave the company.”His heart sank. “What do you mean by leaving the company? You know I can’t run it without you guys. The only reason it has been able to stand for all these years is because you guys have been there. You can’t do this to me.” He demanded, and before he knew it, he was pacing. “You need to revisit that plan of yours. I can’t and
