That evening, Calista looked radiant and elegant as she stood at the airport to welcome Mathis Huber—the man she believed to be superior to Rael Vinsion in every way.

And it wasn’t long until Mathis Huber arrived.

Oberon greeted Mathis warmly, shaking his hand.

“Welcome to Stonebridge, Young Master Huber.”

Mathis smiled arrogantly but still remembered his manners.

“Thank you for the warm welcome, Mr. Hanson.”

Calista chimed in, offering her brightest smile.

“You must be quite bored from the flight. Come with us for dinner.”

Mathis accepted Calista’s offer with ease as he took in her beauty with heavy breath.

“Sure.”

Calista beamed proudly as she introduced.

“The Draymont Royale Hotel is the finest in Noorhaven. We hope you have a good time.”

In fact, the hotel offered a breathtaking ambiance and the most exquisite dishes in the region.

And Calista believed no one would decline such a prestigious invitation.

At the same time, Mathis was silently crafting his plans for after his marriage to Calista.

He believed once he married Calista and took over Noorhaven, he would be a step closer to the cabinet.

After all, with the current GDP being 20 trillion, he believed it wouldn’t be long before he made it reach 30 trillion.

How difficult could it be, anyway?

Not long after, they arrived at the Draymont Royale Hotel.

Calista promptly led Mathis to an exclusive VVIP room.

Soon, an array of exquisite meals was placed before them.

It was no exaggeration to say the Draymont Royale was the most luxurious hotel in Noorhaven.

The cheapest grilled meat on the menu cost $30,000, and their dinner that night totaled an astonishing $300,000.

Meanwhile, the news of Calista and Oberon's arrival at the Draymont Royale Hotel quickly reached the restaurant manager.

Without delay, he made his way to the VVIP room.

He hope to greet Rael there.

However, when he looked into the VVIP room, the restaurant manager was surprised because he didn't see Rael.

With a courteous tone, he asked again, “Good evening, our honoured guests. By the way, may I know where Lord Vinsion is?”

However, to the manager’s surprise, his question caused Calista’s blood to boil instantly.

“Lord? What kind of Lord is he?” She sneered.

“How dare you mention that disgusting name in my presence?”

Calista’s voice rang out coldly, echoing in the room.

“Who is he to deserve a place in this room alongside me?”

The restaurant manager couldn’t comprehend what had just transpired.

“B—But, isn’t he your fiance, Miss?

What wrong was it if he asked her about Lord Vinsion’s whereabout?

If not for Lord Vinsion’s sake, why on earth would he come to greet them?

However, Calista had no idea what the restaurant manager was thinking.

Fueled by her anger, Calista lashed out in disdain.

“Not anymore!”

“Rael Vinsion is nothing more than a stray dog fed out of the Hanson family’s pity!”

She chuckled bitterly, her tone dripping with mockery.

“Oh, or do you actually believe all those ridiculous rumors? About how great he supposedly is?”

She laughed, the sound sharp and derisive.

“Let me enlighten you. Without the Hanson family, he has absolutely nothing!”

The restaurant manager couldn’t help but frown deeply.

'So the Hansons had betrayed Lord Vinsion?'

'So they were getting rid of Lord Vinsion after all he had done for Noorhaven?'

The restaurant manager secretly disdained but thought it wise to remain silent.

However, his stillness only emboldened Calista to escalate her insults further.

“Rael is just a loser living off the crumbs we throw at him.”

“Do you think someone like him is truly deserving of respect? You’d have to be a fool to believe that!”

On the designated day and time, as planned, Leith arranged for the arrival of the foreign individuals in Nymbrial County to discuss his illegal business. However, they remained cautious, arriving without bringing any illegal goods, unlike their usual practice.Furthermore, Leith deliberately spread rumors about the foreigners’ arrival to gauge Rael’s reaction.Leith gave orders to his men, “Watch and observe! Make sure you report to me if you see any movement from Lord Vinsion’s subordinates. If there are any.”They all nodded in unison. “Understood.”Not long after, news of the illegal immigrants’ entry quickly spread because many officials who had previously worked under Rael had either resigned or been dismissed. As a result, Nymbrial County was understaffed to handle urgent matters like this. The news soon reached Oberon and Mathis.Oberon’s eyebrows furrowed deeply. “Illegal immigrant? How is that even possible?”Mathis’s expression also showed concern. After all, during the four

The wave of strikes and mass resignations by state officials in Noorhaven had truly shaken Oberon and Mathis.Mathis muttered, "Why is it that after I took over this state, I have to face such chaos?""Regardless, this turmoil must not drag on, or it will disrupt regional stability and development."More than that, Oberon was even angrier, almost tempted to flip the table in front of him. He completely lost his appetite. Clenching his teeth in frustration, his fury boiled over. The officials' demands to release Rael and their threats of a work strike had truly pushed Oberon's patience to its limit."Fine. If they want to strike or even resign!""I don't care!""In fact, this is an excellent opportunity for Noorhaven to get rid of Rael's loyalists and replace them with new officials who are more open-minded and willing to cooperate with me!""The notion that Noorhaven cannot function properly without Rael is utterly ridiculous!"As Oberon envisioned replacing the officials with talente

Oberon’s idea sounded excellent to Mathis. In that moment, Mathis regained his determination to confront Rael and secure his position in Noorhaven.“That’s brilliant, Mr. Hanson!”Spontaneously, Mathis clapped his hands in delight, praising the clever plan of his future father-in-law. The smile on Mathis’ face reflected his newfound optimism, as if he could hit Rael away like a fly.Oberon nodded.“For now, I’ve already sent my men to investigate the officials who have complaints about Rael.”“To regain your energy, I think you should rest early.”Mathis nodded in agreement.“Sure.”He then retreated to his bedroom. After a long and exhausting day, Mathis felt he needed time to recharge and prepare himself for the challenges of tomorrow.Even so, as he lay on his bed, Mathis couldn’t stop thinking about Rael.“That bastard…”“At least you’re rotting in the dungeon, living a miserable life!”Mathis tried to comfort himself, and the thought of Rael being imprisoned lifted his spirits.Ho

After thinking for quite a while, Oberon finally had an idea.“Mr. Huber, I have an idea!”Lucan stared sharply at Oberon.“Speak!”Oberon quickly explained, “To divert the officials’ attention from the misunderstanding at Rael’s warehouses, we need to create news that will ruin Rael’s reputation!”“I’ll make the public aware that Rael often uses his dark powers to oppress capable officials and prevent them from getting promotions.”“Meanwhile, he allows incompetent officials to retain their positions!”According to Oberon, Rael had always been known for his good reputation because he had done many good deeds. Therefore, exposing Rael’s true face to the public was the right step to destroy their trust in him.Additionally, this diversion would also make the public aware that Rael had been hindering the country’s growth.Oberon’s previously pale face started to shine with optimism.“One more thing. The public must also know that Rael is collaborating with the Lord of the Scorpion at th

The sharp words from the official on the other end of the line slowly erased the smile from Lucan’s face.Shaking his head in frustration, Lucan retorted, “Are you so envious of Mathis’s accomplishments at such a young age that you resort to making false accusations against him?”In short, Lucan trusted Mathis more than the official on the phone.“You shouldn’t believe everything on TV just because it’s aired there!”The official sneered, “You shouldn’t blindly trust Mathis either!”“I understand he’s your son. But does a father simply stand by when his son does something wrong?”“Let me make one thing clear to you, Mr. Huber. I’m not saying this out of jealousy, as you’ve accused!”“But because the state of Noorhaven has already sent evidence to the capital!”“Every official in the capital now knows about the fraudulent actions of your son!”Without waiting for Lucan’s response, the official ended the call abruptly. The harsh manner of the official left Lucan stunned, speechless for

I am Aiden Russell, a reporter from Nooria News Channel.”With a professional smile, Aiden asked again, “So, is it true that Rael Vinsion is involved in a massive embezzlement case?”The bank staff did not immediately answer the reporter's question. Instead, he simply handed over an envelope that was in his hand to the reporter. Aiden took the envelope with a confused expression.“Are you trying to bribe me so I won’t report this case?”The bank staff's face turned sour, and he replied, “Just open the envelope. You’ll find out what’s really going on here.”Although hesitant, Aiden finally opened the envelope in his hand. The reporter's eyes narrowed when he saw that the envelope
