Calista firmly declared, "Listen, the only reason Noorhaven has flourished like it has today is because of my father, Governor Oberon Hanson!"

"And Rael has absolutely no right to claim even a shred of credit for my father's hard work!"

The restaurant manager's chest heaved with anger.

He retorted, "I’m sorry, Young Lady! But your joke is not funny at all!"

"Everyone in the state of Noorhaven knows that the progress of this state is due to the behind-the-scenes efforts of Lord Vinsion."

"You must be aware that Noorhaven used to be looked down upon for its poverty and rampant crime."

"Many political experts predicted that Noorhaven would never survive its crisis. In other words, it was expected to collapse in no time."

"But after Lord Vinsion took over Noorhaven, that impoverished state defied all those predictions by achieving a GDP of 20 trillion in just one year!"

A smile spread across the restaurant manager's lips.

"More than that, this hotel was built thanks to Lord Vinsion."

"How could I possibly overlook him?"

The expressions of everyone at the table darkened instantly.

Their visit to the hotel was meant to celebrate Rael’s capture after he was accused of various crimes.

Yet, the restaurant manager’s incessant chatter only soured their mood.

Furious, Oberon slammed his hand on the table.

Bang!

He warned, "Stop speaking about things you don’t understand!"

"The world of politics is vast and cunning! A mere manager like you couldn’t possibly grasp the reality of true politics!"

"Don’t be so naïve as to believe everything without evidence!"

The restaurant manager felt irritated by Oberon's arrogant demeanor and clenched his jaw tightly.

Apparently, Governor Oberon Hanson has truly betrayed Lord Vinsion!

Inwardly, the restaurant manager cursed Oberon and began to sweat nervously.

'Without Lord Vinsion, the state of Noorhaven would descend into chaos again.'

'If that happens, this hotel will be ruined too!'

Suddenly, the VVIP room door burst open.

Bang!

At the doorway stood the silhouette of a dashing man, visibly furious.

He was Lieutenant Governor Damarion Travis.

The man strode in and asked bluntly, “Who is the mastermind behind the idiotic idea of framing Lord Vinsion with charges of corruption, bribery, and prostitution?”

Calista raised her head gracefully and replied, “Please remain calm, Mr. Travis.”

She shook her head.

“In truth, no one is accusing Rael of anything.”

“But isn’t it true that no matter how cleverly someone hides a corpse, the stench will eventually be noticed by those around them?”

Damarion’s sharp gaze pierced Calista.

“Is that so? Then what kind of corpse is Lord Vinsion hiding?”

“Do you have any evidence?”

Damarion’s cutting words made Calista flinch for a moment.

The truth was, she had no evidence at all.

Unable to respond, Calista could only remain silent, her hands clenched tightly under the table.

Damarion’s piercing gaze shifted to the man in the expensive suit sitting beside Calista.

He sneered, “I know your vile plan.”

“You’re trying to eliminate Lord Vinsion so that this man can replace him, right?”

Damarion’s fists clenched tightly, the veins on his hands bulging beneath his skin.

“How utterly shameless!”

Then he pointed at Mathis's face and spoke with a sarcastic tone, “Are you seriously claiming he’s better than Lord Vinsion?”

He firmly declared, “Not just anyone can replace Lord Vinsion!”

“In my six years serving as Lieutenant Governor, I’ve witnessed Noorhaven rise and fall. One thing is certain: this state’s progress relies entirely on Lord Vinsion’s hard work!”

Damarion’s mind quickly replayed the scene of him and Rael working together to fight the Lord of the Scorpion at the border.

Thanks to Rael, the Lord of the Scorpion was forced to surrender and promised that as long as Rael led Noorhaven, the Lord of the Scorpion’s men would not cross the border.

Previously, those forces had repeatedly attacked the border, causing instability and escalating conflicts that resulted in countless casualties and physical injuries.

Due to the actions of the Lord of the Scorpion, the people living near the border had suffered immensely.

However, Rael, on his own, managed to bring the Lord of the Scorpion to his knees, effectively saving Noorhaven.

In fact, there was a saying outside Noorhaven that Noorhaven was not prey to the Magnificent Scorpion solely because of Rael’s leadership.

Damarion’s eyes gleamed as he glared at the three fools in front of him.

With a resolute tone, he warned, “If you insist on removing Lord Vinsion, don’t regret it when the Lord of the Scorpion rises again!”

Oberon and Mathis couldn’t help but look grim as their plan was easily exposed.

Even so, deep down, they still doubted whether Rael was truly as remarkable as Damarion claimed.

Oberon abruptly interrupted Damarion’s tirade, “Stop causing trouble at our dinner!”

“Everything you’ve said is nonsense!”

“Let me remind you, Mr. Travis, Rael is nothing more than an orphan with no higher education!”

Oberon’s gaze then shifted proudly to Mathis.

“Meanwhile, Young Master Mathis Huber is a graduate of the finest university in the capital!”

“He also comes from an influential family in the capital! So it’s no surprise that he has countless connections!

"They are in entirely different worlds, Mr. Travis!"

“Young Master Mathis Huber is like a majestic eagle soaring in the sky. Meanwhile, Rael is nothing more than a maggot on a rotting rat carcass!”

“He isn’t even worthy of being prey to an eagle!”

“Do you really not understand this?”

On the designated day and time, as planned, Leith arranged for the arrival of the foreign individuals in Nymbrial County to discuss his illegal business. However, they remained cautious, arriving without bringing any illegal goods, unlike their usual practice.Furthermore, Leith deliberately spread rumors about the foreigners’ arrival to gauge Rael’s reaction.Leith gave orders to his men, “Watch and observe! Make sure you report to me if you see any movement from Lord Vinsion’s subordinates. If there are any.”They all nodded in unison. “Understood.”Not long after, news of the illegal immigrants’ entry quickly spread because many officials who had previously worked under Rael had either resigned or been dismissed. As a result, Nymbrial County was understaffed to handle urgent matters like this. The news soon reached Oberon and Mathis.Oberon’s eyebrows furrowed deeply. “Illegal immigrant? How is that even possible?”Mathis’s expression also showed concern. After all, during the four

He completely lost his appetite. Clenching his teeth in frustration, his fury boiled over. The officials' demands to release Rael and their threats of a work strike had truly pushed Oberon's patience to its limit."Fine. If they want to strike or even resign!""I don't care!""In fact, this is an excellent opportunity for Noorhaven to get rid of Rael's loyalists and replace them with new officials who are more open-minded and willing to cooperate with me!""The notion that Noorhaven cannot function properly without Rael is utterly ridiculous!"As Oberon envisioned replacing the officials with talente

Oberon’s idea sounded excellent to Mathis. In that moment, Mathis regained his determination to confront Rael and secure his position in Noorhaven.“That’s brilliant, Mr. Hanson!”Spontaneously, Mathis clapped his hands in delight, praising the clever plan of his future father-in-law. The smile on Mathis’ face reflected his newfound optimism, as if he could hit Rael away like a fly.Oberon nodded.“For now, I’ve already sent my men to investigate the officials who have complaints about Rael.”“To regain your energy, I think you should rest early.”Mathis nodded in agreement.“Sure.”He then retreated to his bedroom. After a long and exhausting day, Mathis felt he needed time to recharge and prepare himself for the challenges of tomorrow.Even so, as he lay on his bed, Mathis couldn’t stop thinking about Rael.“That bastard…”“At least you’re rotting in the dungeon, living a miserable life!”Mathis tried to comfort himself, and the thought of Rael being imprisoned lifted his spirits.Ho

After thinking for quite a while, Oberon finally had an idea.“Mr. Huber, I have an idea!”Lucan stared sharply at Oberon.“Speak!”Oberon quickly explained, “To divert the officials’ attention from the misunderstanding at Rael’s warehouses, we need to create news that will ruin Rael’s reputation!”“I’ll make the public aware that Rael often uses his dark powers to oppress capable officials and prevent them from getting promotions.”“Meanwhile, he allows incompetent officials to retain their positions!”According to Oberon, Rael had always been known for his good reputation because he had done many good deeds. Therefore, exposing Rael’s true face to the public was the right step to destroy their trust in him.Additionally, this diversion would also make the public aware that Rael had been hindering the country’s growth.Oberon’s previously pale face started to shine with optimism.“One more thing. The public must also know that Rael is collaborating with the Lord of the Scorpion at th

The sharp words from the official on the other end of the line slowly erased the smile from Lucan’s face.Shaking his head in frustration, Lucan retorted, “Are you so envious of Mathis’s accomplishments at such a young age that you resort to making false accusations against him?”In short, Lucan trusted Mathis more than the official on the phone.“You shouldn’t believe everything on TV just because it’s aired there!”The official sneered, “You shouldn’t blindly trust Mathis either!”“I understand he’s your son. But does a father simply stand by when his son does something wrong?”“Let me make one thing clear to you, Mr. Huber. I’m not saying this out of jealousy, as you’ve accused!”“But because the state of Noorhaven has already sent evidence to the capital!”“Every official in the capital now knows about the fraudulent actions of your son!”Without waiting for Lucan’s response, the official ended the call abruptly. The harsh manner of the official left Lucan stunned, speechless for

They all looked at the reporter with disgusted expressions. At that moment, the reporter's body felt an inexplicable chill.Hurriedly, the reporter said, “Good afternoon, ladies and gentlemen. I am Aiden Russell, a reporter from Nooria News Channel.”With a professional smile, Aiden asked again, “So, is it true that Rael Vinsion is involved in a massive embezzlement case?”The bank staff did not immediately answer the reporter's question. Instead, he simply handed over an envelope that was in his hand to the reporter. Aiden took the envelope with a confused expression.“Are you trying to bribe me so I won’t report this case?”The bank staff's face turned sour, and he replied, “Just open the envelope. You’ll find out what’s really going on here.”Although hesitant, Aiden finally opened the envelope in his hand. The reporter's eyes narrowed when he saw that the envelope
