CHAPTER 1 TIAN CHEN
last update2025-05-07 20:23:51

In the Eastlands, countless kingdoms existed. Yet, among them, only a handful truly held power. This land was known as the Tianwu Continent—a world where strength was the ultimate law. The strong devoured the weak, the rich oppressed the poor, and honor belonged only to those who could defend it. From this land of strife, a young man who would one day shake the world was born.

On the edge of a village, not far from a market that was beginning to empty, a young boy stood wearing tattered clothes that had long lost their original color. His face was slightly dirty, but his eyes were as sharp as those of a hawk, suggesting a tenacity rarely seen in a child his age. His name was Tian Chen.

At that moment, he was surrounded by a group of noble children who were not much older than him. They wore brightly colored silk clothes, contrasting with Tian Chen's appearance, which looked like that of a beggar in their eyes.

————

Among them, a boy with neatly combed hair stood at the front. His face was arrogant, his lips curled in a mocking sneer. Wuya, a prince from a small kingdom who felt the world was in his grasp.

"Hey, beggar!" Wuya exclaimed, his voice loud and full of arrogance. "I told you, this place isn't for people like you! Why do you dare to come here, huh?"

The other children laughed, as if Wuya had just told the funniest joke. However, Tian Chen was not intimidated. He stood tall, his fists clenched at his sides.

"This is a public place, not your place. So anyone can come here without having to wait for your approval," he replied in a flat voice, but clear enough to make Wuya's face tense.

The laughter that had echoed around them began to subside. Some children began looking at each other, as if they couldn't believe that a poor child dared to answer Wuya back.

Wuya snorted angrily. His nose flared, holding back boiling anger. Since birth, he had always been treated with respect. Everyone flattered him, fulfilling his every wish. But now? A poor boy dared to defy him in public?

"You bastard, since when did a beggar like you dare to defy me?"

"Wuya, why waste time on a beggar like him? Just attack him, and make him regret it for life!" yelled one of the noble children from behind.

Wuya grinned, his eyes glittering with arrogance. "Right, why should I mince words? Disable him!"

Cheers rose, as if giving Wuya and his group permission to commit a crime. Five boys immediately moved, picking up stones from the ground and throwing them at Tian Chen.

SWOOSH!

The air whistled as the stones flew towards Tian Chen. However, what happened next stunned them all.

TAK!

Just before the first stone hit him, Tian Chen's small hand moved. In the blink of an eye, he caught the stone with ease, as if he had been calculating its trajectory from the beginning.

WHOOSSHH!

With a movement almost impossible for a child his age, Tian Chen threw the stone in his hand into the air—and BAANG! The stone hit the other four stones simultaneously. All four shattered into pieces before they could reach him.

Silence.

Wuya and his friends were frozen, unable to believe what they had just witnessed.

"How is that possible?" murmured one of them. "He's just a beggar... why could he catch my throw and shatter the other four stones?"

"It must be a coincidence!" another exclaimed, trying to deny reality. "Let's just hit him with a wooden beam!"

Without waiting for further orders, the five children rushed to pick up wooden beams around them. They were makeshift weapons, but enough to disable a small child if swung with full force.

They attacked simultaneously, swinging the wooden beams towards Tian Chen's head. However, before the beam could hit its target...

TANG!

Tian Chen extended his hand and caught the wood with ease. A strange sight, where one small hand held back the strength of five people at once.

And then...

CRACK!

With one light squeeze, the wooden beam shattered into splinters in his hand.

The noble children's eyes widened in fear. They took a few steps back, their faces pale. Tian Chen stood tall in their midst, his eyes still calm. However, this time, there was a different aura about him—something that was hard to describe with words.

"I suggest you leave now," he said in a low voice, but enough to make their hearts beat faster. "My mother can't wait for me any longer. If you keep making trouble for me, don't blame me if I do something cruel to you."

Those words pierced deep into their hearts. Hesitantly, they began to step back.

However, amidst their fear, Wuya's voice rang out again.

"Beggar... you think I'll let this go?"

Everyone turned to him. Wuya was still standing tall, even though his face was tense with burning anger.

From his body, something began to glow. A yellowish mist appeared, swirling around his body like a stream of living energy.

"It seems you've learned how to channel internal energy, haven't you?" Tian Chen looked at him with a cold gaze. "Just a first-class warrior."

"Don't get cocky!"

Wuya leaped forward. Suddenly, the silhouette of his fists appeared in the air—many of them. He was using a royal martial arts technique, creating an illusion of fists hitting Tian Chen from all directions.

But...

ZWOOSH!

Tian Chen moved.

His body twisted gracefully, avoiding every punch that came. His movements were like a dance on the wind—fast, precise, and deadly.

And before Wuya could react...

BAANG!

Tian Chen's fist hit Wuya's stomach hard.

"UGH!!"

Wuya's body flew through the air before landing sprawled on the ground, writhing in pain.

He tried to get up, but the excruciating pain made him unable to move. Tian Chen's gaze remained cold as he turned, leaving those still stunned in fear.

"I must hurry," he murmured softly. "Mother shouldn't wait any longer."

And without looking back, he left.

However, behind him, Wuya narrowed his eyes full of hatred.

"I won't let you get away with this, beggar!"

"Wuya, we..."

The five children who had attacked Tian Chen bowed their heads, their bodies still trembling from the fight they had just had. Wounds adorned their faces and hands, some even struggling to stand upright. They dared not look at Wuya, who was now sitting on the ground with a face flushed red with anger and pain.

"Trash!" Wuya roared, his voice echoing between the narrow walls of the alleyway. His small hand clenched tightly, his nails almost digging into his palm. "Call my servants immediately! I won't let that beggar get away with this easily!"

The five children swallowed. One of them peeked at Wuya's expression, seeing the vengeful gaze that couldn't be hidden.

"Okay."

Two of them immediately ran as fast as they could, their footsteps echoing along the cobblestone alley. Meanwhile, the other three moved cautiously, lifting Wuya, who was still in pain. They knew there was nothing worse than making that boy angrier.

Tian Chen stepped into the market, his eyes drawn to the various medicinal herbs sold there. The hustle and bustle enveloped the place, the sound of merchants shouting to attract customers mixed with the jingle of coins and the distinctive aroma of spices.

He walked from one stall to another, carefully selecting herbs with specific properties. Occasionally, he would pick up a leaf or two, squeezing it between his fingers to ensure its quality.

The shopkeepers looked at the boy with disdain. His clothes were shabby, his hair was unkempt, and his body looked as if it hadn't touched water for days. No one thought that a boy like this could be a customer.

"Hey, kid, are you sure you want to buy this?" asked an old vendor in a mocking tone. "The goods here aren't for vagrants."

Tian Chen was silent. Without saying a word, he pulled a small bag of money from beneath his cloak and placed it on the worn wooden table. A few silver coins jingled as they touched the surface of the table.

The old vendor's face changed instantly. His eyes lit up at the sight of the money, and without much question, he quickly wrapped up the medicinal herbs Tian Chen requested. The other merchants, who were initially hesitant, now quickly served the boy, vying to offer their wares.

After getting everything he needed for his mother, Tian Chen left immediately.

The journey home was not short. His house was on a hill, far from the hustle and bustle of the market. He had to walk along cobbled streets, follow a trail overgrown with tangled tree roots, and cross a small stream before finally reaching the simple house where he and his mother lived.

However, as he reached the edge of the hill, his steps stopped. Two figures stood in the middle of the trail, blocking his way. Both men were dressed simply, but the aura they emanated could not be underestimated. From the way they stood, their upright posture, and their intense gaze, it was clear that they were no ordinary men.

"Boy, you're finally back," one of them spoke, his voice heavy and hoarse. A cold smile was etched on his face. "We've been waiting for you here for a long time."

Tian Chen narrowed his eyes. He didn't recognize them, but the aura they exuded suggested they were fourth-class warriors.

Suddenly, a scream from afar echoed through the trees.

"Don't waste time! Kill that beggar now!"

That voice... Tian Chen immediately recognized it. It was Wuya.

"Young master, rest assured." One of the adult men chuckled. "This boy is nothing more than an ant in front of us."

In a flash, the man darted forward. His movement was so fast, his leg rose high, and without hesitation, he swung a hard kick towards Tian Chen's head.

Tian Chen's reflexes worked. He ducked slightly to the side, but the other man had already read his intentions. As he was about to escape, the second man had already appeared behind him, intercepting him with an equally swift movement.

Tian Chen's eyes widened as he felt the tremendous force from behind. He tried to turn to defend himself, but it was too late.

BRAK!

A hard kick hit his waist. The sound of bone cracking was clearly audible, his body bounced off the ground.

The medicinal ingredients he had bought scattered, dry leaves and roots flying through the air before falling scattered on the dirty ground.

Seeing this, the two adult men laughed in satisfaction.

"Hahaha! We're really lucky." One of them crouched down, his hand reaching for the fallen medicinal herbs. "Who would have thought that a beggar boy like this would have so many expensive medicinal herbs?"

Tian Chen, still lying on the ground, opened his eyes, which shone with anger. His chest rose and fell, not from pain, but from the burning anger.

"Stop! Don't touch my herbs!"

However, his shout was only answered with another hard kick.

BAANG!

His foot landed squarely on Tian Chen's stomach, sending the boy flying backward, thrown several meters until he rolled on the rocky ground.

His already fractured bones were now even worse. His breath came in gasps, but somehow, the pain that should have choked him had disappeared. All that remained was the burning embers in his chest.

Then, something happened.

From within his body, a faint light emerged. It was dim at first, then slowly grew brighter. The light pulsed, as if it had a life of its own.

The two adult men who were about to pick up the medicinal herbs froze in place. They could feel the change that was happening.

Tian Chen, who should have been dying, now stood. His body was upright, no longer weak. His eyes shone brightly, filled with an aura that no one could understand.

And most surprisingly—all the wounds on his body disappeared in the blink of an eye.

The two men swallowed hard.

"Impossible." One of them whispered hoarsely. "How could his aura suddenly become this strong?"

Tian Chen's voice sounded cold and menacing.

"Dare to touch him, and you're ready to lose your lives!”

Tian Chen, who was inside his own soul, could only remain silent while watching it all. He had never imagined that just a breath of his bloodline could erase a Qi Monarch stage so easily. His thoughts were shaken, not from fear, but from the realization that the gap between his former self and the power just displayed had been vastly surpassed. “I must become stronger! I must never let my body be forcibly taken over like this again!” Far away from where the ancient palace appeared, in the most hidden place in the Lingxiao Continent, there was a large tunnel in a secret forest. From the outside, it looked like a cave. But upon entering, anyone would be shocked. Because inside that tunnel were many rooms. It was exactly like an underground dwelling. The tunnel was not only deep but also wide and intricately structured. Each room could house several people. However, it seemed that each room represented the occupant's status, as the differences between the rooms were obvious. Some wer

However, Tian Chen did not respond with an explanation. His gaze remained cold, piercing, and full of pressure. “Divine Poison God's Sacred Body… no wonder you’ve already mastered level five poison, so this is the reason. But before me, the Divine Poison God's Sacred Body is nothing. Now, summon the one who placed the protective formation within your body! I will alter the laws of this world so that it can be entered by someone at the Qi Ascendant stage!” BUZZ!!! Tian Chen raised his hand, and at that very moment, all the laws that had long formed the foundation of the ancient palace world trembled. A soft explosion sounded like a crack through space-time spreading in every direction. The air vibrated. The sky, once calm like a mirror’s surface, began to peel away slowly, revealing a layer of much older and deeper laws. The ancient rules that had remained unchanged for thousands of generations across the Four Continents now shifted. The world itself changed with just a single move

“Hmmp!” The Snow Wolf merely snorted coldly, like a winter wind sweeping through the valley without mercy. No further words followed. He raised his hand and waved it once, the motion appearing light, but the world inside Tian Chen’s dantian immediately underwent a transformation. A small vortex formed again in the sea of dantian energy, slowly spinning as if opening a hidden gate that had long been sealed by the laws of Tian Chen’s internal world. Not only did icy energy surge out, but waves of golden power and fire from the Golden Flame Phoenix and Golden Ape followed closely. The three forces intertwined—not clashing, yet not fully unified either. This time, the image of the Snow Wolf, which had always been faint, appeared clearly. Its form stood tall, majestic, and cold. It instantly merged into Tian Chen’s body, wrapping him in an invisible veil of icy mist. “Boy, this time I’ll let you remain conscious as I control your body! But after this, fight harder. Don’t disgrace the be

Wenli rubbed his eyes several times. “No way! He can't actually fly, can he?” Wenli’s voice did not express admiration, but rather fear wrapped in denial. Dantai Yinyi and Dantai Ma'er, as well as Duanmu, stared at Juanzhi in terror. Because what they knew was that a cultivator who could truly fly was someone who had reached the Qi General stage—one realm above Qi Guardian. That was a level of power they could neither comprehend nor fight against. BUZZ!!! A terrifying pressure struck Duanmu, Wenli, Dantai Yinyi, and Dantai Ma'er. All four of them dropped to their knees. Forget standing—even moving a single finger was extremely difficult. Their bones trembled, their muscles tensed, and the flow of Qi in their bodies seemed to freeze under the absolute pressure descending from above. Their bodies were drenched in cold sweat. Each heartbeat echoed loudly in their ears, like the drums of death pounding from within their chests. “Damn, this is definitely the aura of a Qi General! Ther

Panicked voices were heard from another direction. The junior disciples of the Thousand Poison Sect, who were fighting Wenli, broke formation. Their movements were rushed and reckless. They tried to reach Juanzhi, leaping toward him without regard for their current combat positions. Their attachment to that figure made them lose focus. But it was at that moment that a massive opening appeared. “Hmmp... daring to expose such an opening while fighting me!” Wenli’s voice was calm but carried a piercing pressure. His eyes gleamed. At the same time, Dantai Yinyi raised her bow. They no longer held back, immediately firing two golden arrows each. Their movements were synchronized, as if they had trained for years for this very moment. There was no error in timing, direction, or force. The world seemed to pause the moment the bowstrings were released. WHOOSSHH!!! Four arrows shot forward at incredible speed, even causing the air to vibrate. Their golden tips blazed as they silently cut

The other seven bloodlines of Tian Chen could only shake their heads. They knew that among them, no one dared to mock the Golden Flame Phoenix. Even though the bird wasn’t the strongest, it had the worst temper. It would always go berserk if anyone underestimated it. Only the Golden Ape dared to act that way—and somehow, managed to survive. A small miracle none of them ever wanted to test again. Sensing the Golden Flame Phoenix’s growing rage, the Golden Ape sighed softly. “If you want to get angry, direct it at the young man who’s Tian Chen’s opponent, not at me!” “Silence!” The Golden Flame Phoenix immediately released a massive amount of golden fire. But not to attack the Golden Ape—it was directed to empower Tian Chen directly. The fire merged into a swirling vortex that moved toward the center of Tian Chen’s dantian, then surged through his meridians and body network like molten magma fusing with his blood. Tian Chen was greatly shocked. He felt the Qi in his body rise rapidl
