Mark was smiling at the entrance of Glamour, waiting for Briana to take him to her family's house.

Some employees, like Mary Ellen, kept their distance from Mark, with an inexplicable fear.

Suddenly, Briana's luxurious car stopped and Mark quickly got in.

"Mark, why are you smiling?"

"Let's just say things are falling into place," Mark replied, fastening his seatbelt.

"OK. Now we need to introduce you to my family," Briana replied and added, "Are you okay with that?"

"I'm fine." Mark turned to her with a reassuring smile.

"I know it seems sudden." Briana thought it would be good to explain, "But there's a banquet happening today and I need to attend.

"So I thought it would be a great opportunity to introduce you to them as my husband."

Mark needed no motivation for this.

"Understood. I just need to go to my apartment to dress up."

"Yes, I understand. Let's go then." Briana smiled in relief, "Thank you so much, Mark."

Mark nodded, and Briana headed to his old apartment.

The news lit Claudia up like a chandelier. She smiled so broadly she looked five years younger.“Really? I’ve been trying to do that for ages! How did you manage it?”"Caught her screwing Collins and other suits from the company in the underground garage,” Sandro answered with a nonchalant tone.He walked off, leaving her standing there, chin resting thoughtfully on her hand.“Maybe I should try that with Rodolfo…” she muttered under her breath. “It’d be a new and… interesting experience.”She glanced around to ensure no one had heard her.The sound of Gilson’s furious strokes echoed from the pool.Smirking, she headed toward the patio.Claudia reached the pool just as Gilson swam back to the edge for a break. He climbed out, water dripping down his body.In Claudia's mind, he rose in slow motion: muscular, virile, hair on his chest glistening, stomach sculpted into a six-pack... and not a swimsuit in sight! The Gilson she had married. But when she blinked, the vision snapped. Mark frowned, trying to make sense of the chaos in his own home, and not liking what he heard.“Nadir,” he said slowly, “I know you want to discuss Bri’s diet with Julian while she’s pregnant.”“Mark…” she murmured, her voice timid.“But keep in mind he knows what he’s doing. His whole family works in gastronomy.”“I know—”Mark's voice sounded sterner. “And I will not tolerate mistreatment of my staff in my home.”Before the tension could rise further, Briana’s voice floated in from the dining room.“Sweetheart?”Nadir turned, and Briana stepped into view, wearing a modest swimsuit that accommodated her baby bump, a charming straw hat, and a light cover-up draped over her shoulders.Mark’s face softened instantly, all sternness forgotten the moment he saw his wife.Luana, however, kept a sharp eye on him. She wasn’t going to let him conveniently forget the matter!“Did you nap well?” Nadir asked sweetly.“Yes,” Briana said. “But if I wanted to sleep any longer, I wouldn’t have manage

“Is something wrong, Luana?”“Oh, hi, Mark! No, I was just telling YOUR MOTHER-IN-LAW that Civil Defense notified us we can return to our apartment.”Nadir noticed the emphasis in the "mother-in-law" as if she wanted to remind her who she was. She frowned.“Are you sure the building won’t collapse with you inside it?” he asked.Nadir hid a smirk, secretly hoping it would collapse with Luana in it.“No, thank God it won’t,” Luana replied.“That bomb exploded in the ground-level garage,” Mark mused. “It must’ve damaged the foundations.”“For God’s sake, Mark,” Nadir snapped impatiently, “if Civil Defense said it’s safe, then it’s safe!”“What’s your problem, Nadir?”Realizing she’d spoken too sharply, she covered her mouth, eyes widening. Luana merely shot her a sideways glance, wearing a thin, mocking smile.******Vasconcelos Mansion, Living Room.Ensuring she was truly alone, Claudia closed the double doors with care. With her phone in hand, she scrolled to a particular contact, the

Claudia’s eyes flew wide as if she’d suddenly been cast into a sitcom she hadn’t prepared for.'Did that damned maid say something?' she wondered, then forced herself to speak. “And how do you know that wasn’t true?”“Sandro and I were at the dinner table. Neither you nor Nadir showed up.”For a split second, Claudia’s lips curled into a sly smile. Nadir hadn’t shown up last night either.'So the tramp didn’t come to dinner, meaning she spent the night with her lover too,' she mused with satisfaction.“When I got in, you were asleep,” she said.Gilson’s lips twitched in a crooked smile. He knew perfectly well she was lying—because he had also spent the night out, buried deep inside Celia until dawn.“That must’ve been it, then,” he said with cynical sweetness. “We need to pay closer attention to our marriage, my dear.”“Darling, that’s all I want for our lives,” she insisted.“Great. Then tonight, we’re having a special evening together.”It took every ounce of Claudia’s strength to f

Mark was taken aback when Elara D’Arveil appeared in his office carrying two restaurant bags. She was stunning, graceful in a way that made her look like a delicate street girl inviting her humble boyfriend to share a lunchbox of pasta and sausage. It was an image that did nothing to diminish her beauty. He rose out of respect, his gaze instinctively tracing the curves of her body and the soft fullness of her breasts beneath her blouse. She wore a fitted cream silk top tucked into a high-waisted pencil skirt the color of midnight, the ensemble sensual without crossing into vulgarity.“Miss D’Arveil, you really didn’t have to trouble yourself,” he said, trying to sound stern.“Have you eaten yet?” she asked.“No, but I could’ve ordered something through the app.”“Don’t exert yourself unnecessarily,” she replied, warm and charismatic. “Come. Let’s eat and talk.”She set the bags on his desk. Mark craned his neck as she unpacked the containers. When he finally saw the label, his eyes wi

Celia finally had enough strength to get out of bed. Since Gilson had torn her nightgown with his bare hands, she had been forced to slip into one of his dress shirts far too large, smelling of him, brushing her thighs as she walked.Still sore, she crossed the kitchen and set the delivery box she’d ordered onto the table. Cooking had never been her talent, and she didn’t pretend otherwise. She lowered herself gingerly onto the chair, wincing at the ache lingering across her backside, then opened the container. Her expression soured instantly.Inside, the box was overflowing with rice and beans — mountains of it — while the meat amounted to a pathetic scrap of chicken, hardly bigger than her thumb. A shower of farofa dusted one corner, and a few sad fries lay wilted on top.“What is this? More rice and beans than anything else!” she growled.Annoyance surged through her. She snatched her phone with the intention of typing out a furious complaint, but—Her phone rang so abruptly that s
