Mark was smiling at the entrance of Glamour, waiting for Briana to take him to her family's house.

Some employees, like Mary Ellen, kept their distance from Mark, with an inexplicable fear.

Suddenly, Briana's luxurious car stopped and Mark quickly got in.

"Mark, why are you smiling?"

"Let's just say things are falling into place," Mark replied, fastening his seatbelt.

"OK. Now we need to introduce you to my family," Briana replied and added, "Are you okay with that?"

"I'm fine." Mark turned to her with a reassuring smile.

"I know it seems sudden." Briana thought it would be good to explain, "But there's a banquet happening today and I need to attend.

"So I thought it would be a great opportunity to introduce you to them as my husband."

Mark needed no motivation for this.

"Understood. I just need to go to my apartment to dress up."

"Yes, I understand. Let's go then." Briana smiled in relief, "Thank you so much, Mark."

Mark nodded, and Briana headed to his old apartment.

Mark froze for a moment, watching Briana still trembling even after waking from her nightmare. She was frantically searching the bed, her hands clawing at the sheets as if looking for something or someone. Then, in a voice shaking with terror, she screamed, “The bomb! The bomb! MY BABY!”“Briana!” Mark sat up at once, catching her by the shoulders. “Darling, calm down! It was just a nightmare.”Her eyes were glassy, her breath coming in short, ragged gasps. He pulled the blankets from Briana, realizing with alarm that he wasn’t wearing anything.Muttering a curse under his breath, he quickly threw the covers back over himself before anyone could burst in.“Did you dream there was a bomb here?” he asked, his tone gentle.“It was horrible,” she murmured, beginning to come back to herself. “I was in the baby’s room, holding our son, when I heard Regis shouting, saying there was a bomb in the house. I tried to escape, but... there was no time.”Her voice broke. Briana collapsed into tears

Thursday morning dawned over Braspolis beneath a heavy, uncertain sky. From above, the city looked still, its towers and rooftops softened by the gray light that hinted at coming rain.At Ferro House, the gardens were already alive with motion. The front lawn glistened faintly with dew as gardeners moved methodically through their work, trimming, sweeping, and watering.Around the pool, Domitila (the new maid who had replaced Florentina) was sweeping away fallen leaves. She paused mid-motion, gazing up at the balcony of the master suite.A hand went to her ear as she listened to the faint buzz of her earpiece.“All quiet for now,” she murmured.Inside the suite, Mark lay sprawled across the bed like a teenager who had collapsed after a night of endless celebration. He slept face down, one arm dangling off the side, the picture of a carefree adolescent rather than the war hero he was known to be.The heat from the previous night had driven him to discard the sheets entirely, leaving Br

The door to Sandro’s suite opened quietly, and he stepped inside, followed closely by Althea and Dalila.“Hasn’t Nadir come back yet?” Althea asked, pausing by the door. “She said she was going to visit Briana.”Sandro frowned, running a hand through his hair. “Apparently, she’s staying the night there. But she didn’t reply to my message.”“That’s strange,” Dalila murmured, her brow creasing.“Do you think Mark might have told everyone to limit communication?” Althea suggested. “Maybe he’s afraid the calls could be traced.”“I don’t think that’s it,” Sandro said, shaking his head. “This time, the target was Karl Carvalho.”“So, someone connected to Briana,” Althea reasoned. “And the first car to explode was Mark’s.”Sandro reached out and wrapped his arms around his aging mother, holding her close with quiet affection. Dalila watched them, moved by the tenderness of the gesture.“Don’t worry, Mother,” he said softly. “Nothing will happen to Briana.”Althea’s eyes glistened. “God bless

At police headquarters, Lieutenant Ribeiro stood before a bank of cameras, his face drawn with exhaustion. He hadn’t even managed a shower before the press conference was called. Mary Ellen stood nearby, offering quiet moral support as reporters fired off questions.“Lieutenant,” one journalist called out, “when will the police arrest these extremists?”“We have several leads,” Ribeiro said, his voice firm despite his fatigue. “But I can’t share details that might compromise the investigation.”“Would you classify these attacks as terrorism?” another reporter pressed.“Absolutely,” Ribeiro said. “These criminals have gone far beyond the line!”Mary Ellen leaned forward. “What’s the situation at the residential complex?”“Unfortunately,” Ribeiro replied, “the apartments above the parking area were damaged. Civil Defense has evacuated the residents and is conducting inspections.”“And what about Karl Carvalho, the main target?” someone asked.“He’s safe,” Ribeiro said. “He’s staying wit

Later that evening, the dining room was warm and glowing, the tension softened by good food and wine. Mark and Briana, dressed casually, shared dinner with Karl and Luana, who were beginning to regain some color. Julian served them attentively, though his expression flickered with confusion.Where was the scandal he’d anticipated?“The room you recommended wasn’t where our things were,” Karl said between bites.Julian blinked. “Ah, I must’ve misunderstood. No problem. Anything else you need?”“No, Julian,” Mark said mildly. “You can go for a swim.”Luana almost choked on her drink. “Swim? Now?”Julian grinned, taking the permission at face value, and bowed before retreating. “Enjoy your meal, everyone.”“Mark,” Luana said, shaking her head, “you’re so generous with your servants.”“What’s wrong with that?” he replied, smiling. “They have lives of their own.”Karl chuckled. “Maybe we should join them in the pool tomorrow, right, darling?”“Tomorrow?” Luana repeated, incredulous. “Aren’

Julian moved swiftly along the hallway of Ferro House, slipping in and out of the guest rooms with growing impatience. He was on a very specific mission, one he found equal parts mischievous and righteous.“Let’s hope Regis is the one to stumble upon that shameless woman,” he muttered under his breath with irony. The plan forming in his mind was wickedly simple: to “suggest,” ever so innocently, that Regis assign Karl and Luana to the very guest room where Nadir was currently “devouring” the poor construction worker. The thought alone made Julian smirk with satisfaction.“Mrs. Vasconcelos has certainly taken a liking to the handyman’s… drill,” he whispered to himself, eyes gleaming with mischief. The prospect of catching Nadir in the act thrilled him: not only would it put an end to her relentless flirtations toward him, but it would also expose her true nature to the rest of the Vasconcelos clan. The humiliation alone would be worth it.As he reached the final door at the end of the
