At noon, inside the Ferro House, Mark sat at his desk, deep in conversation with Regis and Vargas. Despite the time of day, rest was the last thing on his mind.

“We need to expose that nightclub and bring their little scheme to light,” Mark declared, his tone sharp and decisive.

Vargas, always the strategist, leaned forward. “How do we go about that, sir?”

Mark’s lips curled into a knowing smirk. “They’re cautious now, obviously. But the day will come when they let their guard down — especially after seeing high-profile guests like Ray Dixon and Melissa Campos Rocha’s youngest son frequenting the place.”

Vargas nodded in understanding. “So, they’ll only relax when they think there aren’t any big names around.”

“Bingo,” Mark confirmed. “That means Ray Dixon can’t go back there. If he does, all eyes will be on him.”

Regis, standing with his arms crossed, weighed in. “Understood, Lord Ferro. One of our men should infiltrate as a spy.”

Mark already had someone in mind. “Agent 03 has been

The Braspolis General Hospital lounge was cloaked in a heavy, anxious silence when Briana appeared at the doorway. Her presence drew immediate attention.“Come in, sweetheart,” Nadir called softly, ushering her into the room.“Is everything okay, guys?” Briana asked, her voice filled with concern.“Your uncle is in surgery right now,” Sandro replied, opening his arms for a quick, reassuring hug.Briana embraced him, grateful for the contact. But as she stepped further into the room, she caught the searing gazes from Katrina and Claudia. Their hostility was barely masked, and Briana noticed.“Are those looks for me,” she asked, calm but firm, “or because of the situation?”Katrina, bitter and visibly on edge, replied, “How quickly we forget. Weren’t you just at Vasconcelos earlier today, meddling where you shouldn’t, sweet-talking Grandma Althea into keeping those worthless, money-draining shows of yours?”Before the tension could escalate, Sandro’s voice cut through like a blade. “Eno

  • Chapter 540 Hearts in Dire Strait

Inside the dimly lit operations center of Braspolis General Hospital, a heavy silence loomed — broken only by the steady beeping of Gilson's heart rate on the multiparameter monitor. He lay motionless on the operating table, his body eerily still beneath the sterile lights.A nurse gently opened his hospital gown, exposing his chest in preparation for surgery. Another nurse efficiently laid out the surgical tools, arranging them exactly as the cardiac surgeon would require. The same doctor who had earlier spoken with Sandro now stood fully prepped, masked, gowned, and gloved. He paused for a moment, drawing in a deep breath as he regarded the man whose life was now in his hands.“And may God help us,” he murmured under his breath. He stepped forward, extending a hand toward the nurse at his side to receive the first instrument.Back in the hospital lounge, a storm hung thick in the air. Sandro and Nadir both recoiled at Claudia’s accusatory tone.Despite the tears streaking her cheeks

As evening settled over Karl and Luana’s apartment, the soft hum of a running shower echoed faintly from the bathroom — Luana was finally taking the long-awaited bath.In the living room, Briana sat on the couch, tense and contemplative. Karl approached her with a cup of coffee in hand. He was at least dressed now — boxers, shorts, and a sleeveless shirt — though still barefoot.Briana took the cup from him, her voice calm but disapproving. “This whole situation is very irregular. You know that, right?”Karl didn’t flinch. “Brie, I love my girlfriend.”“You two already live like you're married,” she said, sipping her coffee. “When’s the engagement, then?”“We’re still thinking about it,” Karl admitted. Before Briana could press further, her phone began to ring. The sound pierced the air, but she ignored it, eyes fixed ahead. Her focus was elsewhere.“Karl,” she said, her tone shifting to business, “I’m probably going to have to start taking these calls soon. But before I do, here’s wh

  • Chapter 537 Enough of Hiding

That afternoon, in the modest living room of Karl and Luana's apartment, Briana finally noticed that Karl was standing before her in a shockingly unmodest state. With a flushed face and a growing sense of urgency, Karl clutched the couch pillow tightly between his legs in a last-ditch effort at decency.“For the love of all that's unholy...” Briana muttered under her breath.“I can explain, Briana—” Karl began, his voice tense. But Briana raised a hand and took a step back. “There’s nothing to explain. I understand perfectly. You two really think you can escape the mess you’ve made by quarantining yourselves in here, hiding from the world?”Before Karl could stammer out another word, Briana stormed off toward the bedroom.Inside the bedroom, Luana was tangled beneath the covers, struggling to rise. Her entire body ached, betraying her effort as futile. The blanket rustled, her groans soft but pitiful.Briana marched in, her lips tight, and yanked at the edge of the covers. Luana was r

  • Chapter 536 Do You Speak English?

Inside the sinister warehouse bathed in the harsh light of late afternoon, Ivan winced in pain, clutching the side of his face but not daring to retaliate or flee. The punch he had just received from Mark Ferro left a clear mark — both physically and psychologically.“Ouch... what was that?” Ivan grumbled, still stunned. “You punch like one of those Eastern fighters.”Mark’s icy gaze fell on him with undisguised contempt. To Mark, learning martial arts was as natural as learning to cook — just another skill one ought to master. But for those who knew better — like Vargas and Rubem — there was no mistaking the truth: the training Mark had endured wasn’t ordinary. In fact, they estimated he had used barely twenty percent of his strength, and still, the damage to Ivan's face was proof of his exceptional prowess.Mark’s voice dropped to a glacial register. “Are you the manager of Red House?”Ivan’s eyes went wide. So that was what this was about.“I... I don’t have the freedom to discuss

Well, if HR is fine with that...”“We definitely are. They seem to be the only friends each other has,” Gene replied, scratching the back of his neck.“I’ve become friends with both of them too,” Briana said gently.Gene hesitated. “Even with Celia being the ex-wife of manager Ferro?”The warmth in Briana’s smile faded. She rose slowly from her chair, and Gene instantly regretted opening his mouth.“Gene, I’m getting tired of people gossiping about Celia just because of what happened at the company,” Briana said firmly. “Just because she had an affair with Adrian Curtis to climb the corporate ladder, now she’s treated like some tramp who purposefull

The room was quiet, save for the rustle of pages — until his phone rang, slicing through the silence. He glanced at the screen. The name Vargas flashed on the display. A subtle smile curled on Mark’s lips as he answered.“Everything ready?”Meanwhile, in the same eerie warehouse where Briana had once been held and where Anthony Curtis met his end, Vargas stood near a shattered window.Inside, Ivan sat on a metal chair — unbound, but clearly too terrified to move. Rubem and the driver of the black car flanked him like silent sentinels.“All ready, sir,” Vargas replied curtly.“Perfect. I’m on my way,” said Mark, before ending the call.Vargas lowered the phone and turned toward Ivan with disgust.“I did everything you people told me to!” Ivan pleaded, voice trembling. “I deserve to know who’s really behind this!”“Shut up, you worm,” Vargas snapped.“This is a huma
