“Big Dog? Is it your pet?” Sawyer scratched his cheek. “I’m a cat person, but I don’t like confronting dogs, either.”
“Big Dog isn’t a dog!” Noelle barked, which Sawyer thought was cute like the barking of a little puppy. “He’s our best butler and bodyguard!”
“Stop it, Noelle,” David shot a glance at his daughter, and she forcibly shut her mouth. He shifted his hard gaze to Sawyer. “How much do you want to forget my daughter?”
Sawyer looked back at David with no emotion on his face. “Write the amount you think your daughter is worth.”
David somewhat frowned. He had already taken the checkbook out, but he was unable to write a number down.
Writing a smaller number would mean he’s utterly disrespecting his daughter. Writing a bigger number was not something he would do, either. So he was in a dilemma.
Seeing David struggling to write a number on the check, Sawyer smiled as though he had won. “Your love for your daughter is great, Uncle. And I want to love Sasha even more.”
Sasha’s heart fluttered from hearing those words.
What is with this guy’s confidence and charisma?
She was proposed to by many men in the past, but none of them would dare talk to her father in the face.
Sasha had simply told those men to convince her father instead.
This was how she avoided trouble from so many men, but now, this blue-eyed, indigent fellow with short rugged hair and a fine beard was casually conversing with her father and everyone else while sitting at their dining table worth 240,000 dollars.
Darius, her elder brother, angrily looked at Sasha, his eyes overflowing with disappointment. “Why are you not saying anything when he’s talking shit?”
“I…” Sasha found it difficult to frame words right now.
What was she supposed to say?
She wanted Sawyer to stay quiet and let her lead things, but he did the exact opposite.
“Dad, Mom, he’s a vice president at a bank and earns 150K,” Sasha stated.
“Only 150K?” Maria’s eyes blazed with fury while glaring at Sawyer. “Even with your annual salary, you can’t afford my daughter’s perfume!” Maria growled at Sawyer. “Heck, you wouldn’t even be able to afford this dining table. A mediocre man like you is not qualified to smell Sasha’s perfume, let alone hold her hand!”
“What perfume do you use, Sasha?” Sawyer asked.
“All our family members use Goldblood perfume,” Sasha stated proudly. “It’s the best there is. It’s worth 800K a bottle—not something you can afford.”
“There’s no need to give this trash any money,” Maria blurted in an icy tone. “Get out of our house, you shameless brat, or our Big Dog will throw you out!”
Sawyer didn’t move an inch from the seat, except that he was looking at Sasha, awaiting her response.
Sasha seemed nervous.
Sawyer should have left when she had thrown him out of the window.
If Big Dog comes, he’s going to completely ruin Sawyer, she thought.
Seeing Sawyer trying to rizz Sasha up with his gallant gaze, Maria felt like throwing the food in his face. “Heaven and earth don’t meet, brat! If you’re thinking of clinging to our family like glue, then you are dead wrong.”
Maria dropped the fork and clapped her hands.
Within seconds, a big butler in a black suit stormed into the hall.
He was nearly two meters tall, the sound of his knuckles cracking could be heard by everyone.
When Noelle saw Big Dog, she showered a sardonic smile.
She couldn't wait to see how Sawyer would humiliate himself.
Because no one can beat Big Dog.
She'd seen him take down three commandos without suffering a scratch.
“Kick this clown out, Big Dog!” Noelle roared, pointing the knife at Sawyer.
The butler nicknamed Big Dog, an underground wrestling champion who had killed many fighters and restricted many others to wheelchairs, pulled up his suit sleeves and confidently strode toward Sawyer.
“If I beat him, what will you give me?” Sawyer asked Sasha in a whisper.
“Huh?” She grew perplexed and astonished.
Wasn’t he afraid of Big Dog? Why does he still look calm and relaxed?
“How about a French Kiss?” Sawyer added, making her stomp on his foot almost in reflex.
“Save yourself first, fool,” she hissed in a low voice. (Does he not get the danger he’s in? Has he completely lost it? Did the fall from the window damage his brain?)
Sawyer laughed, despite pain shooting in his left foot.
“A normal kiss would do then,” as he was speaking back in a low voice, Big Dog was visibly angered that he was being ignored.
(This little shit. I’ll utterly dismantle him!) Big Dig grabbed Sawyer’s neck from behind and lifted him off the seat, which made all the Deville family members break out into callous smiles.
“Lifting a grown man with one hand! As impressive as ever,” Noelle cried out in exhilaration.
“One hand is enough to deal with two-bit trash like him,” Big Dog smirked and tried to toss Sawyer away into the distance with a vicious swing of his arm.
Sawyer spun over Big Dog’s huge arm and smacked him on the back of his neck.
Big Dog flew and crashed loudly into the table, breaking all the costly ceramic vessels and bending the silver plates, also dropping the jaws of many people sitting at the same time.
Sasha’s silky hair blew backward, and her heart felt a surge of complex, conflicting emotions as impossibility unfolded before her very eyes.

At Brilliant Guild headquarters.“The unending greed of the zombies was conquered by a single stroke of the sword…” Fredrick’s son, Mike, was talking to the guild members while they were repairing the damaged infrastructure.“You’re surely exaggerating things, Young Master Mike.”“I heard there were thousands of zombies. How can a single swing of a sword destroy all of them?”“Even if our entire guild fights those monsters, we will suffer heavy losses against such numbers!”“Heh,” Mike snorted. “If you don’t believe me, that’s your own problem. I’m just telling you guys what my dad told me.”“So, who’s the guy who saved the city?”“It’s the Empyrean,” Mike said.“What? But you said that the zombies were killed by a sword user. The Empyrean isn’t known to use a sword!”“Huh! Did the Empyrean ever tell you that he can’t use a sword?” Mike blurted. “Most of the supersoldiers don't even know what kind of powers he has. So, how can you assume that he can’t use a sword?”At the Mayor's offi

All officers and guards except the low-ranked ones received the order through a voice command to hurry over to the western border of the city. The nearest group of officers rushed over to the border, but they did not have the authority to open the door in the barrier and step outside.Though they could see the hundreds of criminals lying unconscious on the ground on the other side of the barrier, the officers were not able to get to the other side. They had to wait until a superior showed up.By then, over fifty officers gathered and proceeded to cuff up all the criminals. The cuffs were made with a special metal that sealed their strength.Soon, the mayor arrived there with his own group of guards. The mayor was not expecting to see so many criminals.“What are we supposed with all these bastards, sir?” a senior officer asked the mayor.“Let’s keep them in prison,” the mayor replied. “We’ll hand them over to the Super Task Force. They’ll take these criminals to Lode Prison.”Just the

“Kekeke, kahahaha,” Bloody Rooster’s maniacal laugh sent chills down Sasha’s spine. “If you don’t want anyone to die, then get your ass down here, you bitch! Jump from the balcony! Now!”Sasha was afraid to jump from so high.“Didn’t you hear me?” Bloody Rooster got annoyed and started shooting. The bullets that were flying at Sasha stopped in midair.“Ah?” Bloody Rooster was startled and confused. “What the fuck? Do you have some kind of powers?”Sasha, however, looked even more shocked and confused.Just then, all the bullets rose into the air as if they were getting pulled up.At the same time, an air bubble appeared around Bloody Rooster, trapping him inside.“The fuck is this?” He put the machine gun to use, but the bullets were repelled by the bubble, and all those bullets ended up hitting him.Blood Rooster never expected that he’d die from the bullets of his own gun.Even though he died, the bubble that captured him still rose into the sky.Sasha was in shock and disbelief as

Sawyer turned around and looked at his chest. There was a minor cut, but it was healing slowly but surely. A normal attack would have already healed, but because of Richie’s black energy, it was taking time.Sawyer made a phone call to Helia and told her about Richie, which quite surprised her.She assured him that she’d deliver Richie’s corpse to SSL headquarters and also appreciated Sawyer for his effort.“It’s not over yet,” Sawyer told her. “I think Richie was planning something big in this city. With him gone now, all the criminals under him will run rampant. I’ll have to deal with them before they take people’s lives.”“I will call some personnel in Summit city and warn them in your name,” Helia replied.“That will help,” Sawyer replied and then ended the phone call. “Let me clean up this city as much as I can.”He flew and shot through the barrier and stopped high in the air.His eyes scanned all around the city, for he was able to view the whole city from high in the sky.Ther

Sawyer entered the building. There were eight maids standing in the hall, four on either side. All of them had bloodshot eyes, and they seemed ready to attack him, even though they weren’t even looking at him.Sawyer looked up.Richie was sitting on the chandelier. He used the rope-like cloth to come down and land in front of Sawyer.Sawyer didn’t move an inch.“You’re better than I thought,” Richie smiled. “You’ll make a fine addition to my army.”“I did the right thing by coming to this city before going to the Forest of Nightmares,” Sawyer replied, his hands in his pockets. “It’d make things easier for me if I send your body to SSL.”“SSL?” Richie’s expression changed. “You’re part of that fucking organization? Then I’m going to have to kill you in the most painful way before reviving you into a zombie.”He suddenly leaped back and waved his arms, releasing branches of clothes to fly and wrap all around Sawyer. But then, all of that cloth was ripped to shreds.Sawyer didn’t even mo

He appeared quite villainous.Noelle’s heart raced like never before. She was already regretting coming here. “We’re fucked. I don’t want to become a zombie.”“Then why did you come here?” Sawyer asked her.“Because I was worried about you,” she quickly said.Sawyer didn’t believe her.“And my sister also wanted me to stop you from this suicide mission,” Noelle added.Sawyer glanced at her. “Really? Your sister?”“Yeah,” Noelle scratched her cheek. “Actually, my sister was listening to our whole conversation at the hotel. I know it was unprofessional, but I didn’t know your identity, so I had to be careful.”Sawyer’s expression slightly changed. “I see. Is your sister still listening?”“No. Of course not.”“Hey…” the butler’s expression turned serious. “Are you guys ignoring me?”“Tell your sister to not break my heart like she di
