CHAPTER 08

Seeing Ashton and the hot model next to her made Sasha want to puke.

She had heard from her close friend who said that women, after giving blowjobs to men in the cars, would eat bubblegums, chocolates or lollipops to make their mouths smell normal.

Sasha felt sick from remembering that. “Brother, you’re seeing what I’m seeing, right? You want me to marry that filthy womanizer?”

Darius, however, coldly said, “Kick that trash out of this place before Ashton sees him and any trouble brews!”

Sasha’s gut felt tight.

Her brother generally supported her in many things, but when it came to her marriage, he was supporting David and Martha’s decision instead.

Does her brother really love her? Is becoming a super soldier more important to him than her wellbeing?

She wasn’t sure anymore, and it made her heart feel heavy.

“Go, hurry up,” Darius pressured her.

Sasha was walking toward, but Ashton was already approaching her with a big smile on his face. “You look magnificent in this red dress, Sasha. My two eyes aren’t enough to see you.”

“Am I that obese?” Sasha asked back.

“Haha, surely you know how to joke,” Ashton raised his hand to put on her shoulder, but she took a step back. He couldn’t smile anymore. Ashton cast a cold glance toward Sawyer who was also looking at him. (Does her change in attitude have something to do with him? He dares touch the woman I marked? He really needs to be taught a lesson!)

The previous night, Sawyer had made Ashton and his friends drink under the pretext of competition until they all collapsed.

Sawyer then took Sasha home.

Naturally, when Ashton came to his senses this morning, he was furious. He ordered his friends to find out Sawyer’s identity, but he was busy afterward, so he didn’t press that matter afterward.

But after seeing Sawyer in the auction site, which his father owned, Ashton felt like a tiger watching a lamb that got lost and entered a predator’s den.

Ashton was the type who’d never forget his grudges and pay his enemies fivefold.

If a woman crossed paths with him, he’d have his friends violate her and thus crush her confidence and ego.

If a man were to cross paths with him, he’d also have his male friends harass that man and damage him physically and mentally.

Ashton wanted to teach Sawyer a lesson right away, but he held himself back.

Meanwhile, Mike curiously asked Sawyer, “I have seen you stare at that pretty lady in red multiple times already. Do you like her?”

“Well…” Sawyer was scratching his chin. “We have a little bit of a story.”

Just then, he saw Ashton put his arm around Sasha’s shoulder, which made her feel uncomfortable.

But he did it anyway and in fact enjoyed doing it. His hand was rubbing her shoulder.

Sasha wanted to slap his arm away, but she couldn’t do it in front of her brother and father.

Sawyer, for some reason, felt his blood boiling.

Ashton leaned closer to Sasha and said in a low voice, “I’m going to kill him.”

Sasha was startled and soon realized that Ashton was talking about Sawyer as the two men were staring at each other.

Because Sawyer was looking at him, Ashton slid his finger on his own throat, as if threatening to kill Sawyer soon.

Sawyer’s poised posture remained unchanged.

Sasha grew all the more nervous. (How can he maintain his sang-froid when he’s threatened like that? Does he not fear death? Ashton is far more dangerous than he thinks. The sooner he leaves, the better it is for him, or, he’s going to get himself killed!)

At the same time, the clouds parted away, revealing the waning crescent moon and some of the stars.

Sasha felt a sudden chill spread all over her body.

As the light of the celestial objects fell on her, Sasha folded her arms across her chest, but the strange chilling sensation in her wasn’t going away.

It was only increasing by the second.

This didn’t feel normal.

She felt like her body was getting hotter right now, but strangely enough, she still shivered.

To boot, this was something Sawyer had warned her about. He told her to eat the pills if she wanted to feel better at night, but she threw that pouch away. Now, she began to regret it.

“W-What’s happening to me?” her cheeks flushed pink. Her breathing grew heavy. Her nipples were hardening. Her thigh muscles were twitching. “A-Am I getting aroused?”

This did not make sense at all as she absolutely hated Ashton.

Why would she get horny because he had his arm wrapped around her shoulders?

Ashton grinned, sensing the change in her. (Keke. It’s working. The side effects of ‘that’ pill are still there.)

Soon, they all entered the auction grounds.

The center stage was surrounded by tables where hundreds of high profile customers from all over the country and some foreigners were rushing to occupy.

“There’s no need to rush for us,” Ashton told David. “We’ll naturally get the closest seats to the stage.”

The moment they sat at the table, Ashton put his hand on Sasha’s thigh. Her whole body trembled for a second.

Seeing her nervously fiddling with her fingers, Ashton smirked. (It seems the effects of that pill are still very much present. Great. I’ll keep touching her and raise her hormone levels. Once the auction ends, she’ll beg me to fuck her. Once I’m done with her, I will tell my dad that I’m not interested in her. While she’s a top beauty, she’s not worthy of becoming my wife!)

She coldly glared at him as if warning him to remove his hand, but he squeezed her thigh instead.

While Sasha’s mind resisted his action, her body was responding in a different way.

Sasha didn’t understand why her body was behaving so strangely.

She looked at her dad and brother for help.

Though they probably knew what Ashton’s hand was doing to her under the table, they feigned ignorance.

Just then, Mike was sitting at the very next table.

Seeing Mike, Ashton wanted to shake his hand, but then Sawyer sat next to Mike, making Ashton wonder how those two were related. Even David and Darius were thinking the same.

Soon, Eureka stepped on the stage. “Welcome everyone. I’m going to be absolutely fair, so everyone will have a chance to get the items they want so long as they have enough depth to their pockets. Now then, let’s begin the show.”

Once the auction started, only special items popped up on stage.

Humanoid robots, widely known as droids, displayed these items.

Every item came from under the stage as there was a whole facility built underground.

The first item, the Desert Crow, a special crow known for finding food even in the roughest of deserts, was sold for 1.4 million dollars.

Saint Snow’s used silver earrings were sold for 3.2 million dollars.

Hypersense pills were also sold for hundreds of thousands of dollars, but David didn’t let Darius bid for them as the price was climbing way too high.

Darius reasoned with his dad that buying these pills in bulk isn’t possible anywhere else, but David told him to be patient until the next auction.

Though this caused David to lose a bit of face, in his eyes, it was better to lose some face than lose a million dollars to acquire pills at unreasonable prices.

Darius was close to crying because he was so much looking forward to buying the hypersense pills which were all bought by Mike.

This made Darius want to join the Brilliant Guild all the more as the guild would distribute those pills to its members depending on their contributions.

“All are boring items,” Sawyer, on the other hand, turned his head to look at Sasha as she wasn’t boring to look at. However, she didn’t put on a good expression right now. Something felt wrong with her.

Sawyer glanced under the table and saw Ashton’s hand squeezing her thigh.

Sawyer sprang up from his seat.

Ashton’s hand kept moving along her thigh slowly.

Sasha couldn’t bear it anymore and immediately slapped him so hard and loud many people heard and saw it. “Who the hell do you think you are!”
