“I knew it,” Hudson thought.

The slight change in Julo’s expression was enough to confirm it, he definitely knew the person Hudson was asking about.

But Hudson didn’t press right away. Instead, he waited, curious to see how the old man would respond.

Julo hesitated, then asked carefully, “Do you have a grudge against him?”

Hudson’s eyes hardened immediately.

“Am I the one asking questions, or are you?” he said bluntly. “Just answer what you’re supposed to answer. Don’t ask what you shouldn’t.”

The world was vast, full of things most people would never believe.Hudson had long known that creatures like dragons once existed. But those were ancient legends, stories buried in time. What he never expected… was that one would still be alive, sealed deep within Sandigan Valley in California. What shocked him even more was the sheer recklessness of the White Night Gate. Just to kill him, they had actually released something like this.If this creature ever made it out…The destruction it could cause was unimaginable.A crushing pressure bore down on him, suffocating and relentless. And yet, Hudson remained calm. There was no panic in his eyes.He understood one simple truth, panic wouldn’t help him survive. If anything, it would only get him killed faster. As the restraints on his body were lifted, his aura surged upward, growing stronger and sharper by the second. The cave was dim, but he could still clearly make out the creature’s form.At its core, it resembled a massive serpent

Over the rugged mountains of California, the clouds began to gather. At first, it was subtle, just a natural thickening in the sky. But within minutes, the clouds grew darker, heavier, rolling over one another like waves. The atmosphere turned suffocating, like a storm scene straight out of a disaster movie. A quiet dread settled over everything, pressing down on people’s chests and making their hearts race with unease.“Dad… what’s happening?” Hyan asked, her voice trembling. She couldn’t shake the feeling that something terrible was about to unfold. “Does this have anything to do with Hudson?”Hansel didn’t answer her right away. His expression had darkened, and instead, he turned to Rodolf, whose face looked just as grim.“Rodolf… do you feel that?” Hansel asked quietly.“I do,” Rodolf replied, his voice tight. “That presence… it’s terrifying.”As someone on the brink of becoming a grandmaster, Rodolf’s senses were far sharper than most. And right now, every instinct in his body wa

A loud explosion echoed throughout the cave. In an instant, every clay jar hidden inside the small openings along the walls shattered all at once. The souls that had been trapped inside for so long were finally released. One by one, they drifted out as faint white mist, slowly spreading through the air. They didn’t just vanish right away, because of the heavy, unnatural energy in this place, they lingered briefly, maintaining that ghostly form. But without the jars to contain and sustain them, they gradually faded, becoming invisible to the naked eye.Freed from their confinement, each soul was naturally drawn back to its source. That invisible connection would guide them home, allowing them to return to their rightful bodies.Hudson had sealed the souls of Hannah and Hyan for a reason. He didn’t have time to wait for their souls to find their way back on their own. Even though this canyon wasn’t too far from the Garcia family’s location, it was faster, and far safer, for him to bring

Hudson took ten steps forward. Almost immediately, a thick white mist began rising from the ground. He didn’t stop. Instead, he sped up, thinking he could push through before the fog fully closed in around him.But within seconds, he realized something was wrong. The central area of Sandigan Valley, deep within that remote California canyon, felt endless. No matter how fast he moved, there was no sign of an exit. The fog continued to spread steadily, swallowing everything in sight.“Stop.”Hudson came to a sudden halt. While he could still see a little, he quickly scanned his surroundings. At that moment, he was certain, this place was rigged with some kind of hidden formation. It had been set up so cleverly that he hadn’t noticed it at first. Now he understood. If he wanted to reach the deeper part of the canyon, he had to break whatever was controlling this area. From what he remembered, this setup was similar to something he had read about before, a disorientation formation. In sim

“Of course!”Even though Shienna’s eyes flickered with nervousness, her voice was firm and unwavering.“Alright,” Hudson said with a faint smile. “Don’t back out later.”With that, he turned and quickly headed into Sandigan Valley.“Shienna… what were you whispering to Hudson?” Hyan asked, unable to hold back her curiosity any longer. Her eyes were locked onto Shienna. Her instincts told her that whatever Shienna had said must’ve been something embarrassing, otherwise, why would she blush like that?A subtle sense of unease crept into her chest.Shienna glanced at her and said casually, “That’s none of your business. Kids shouldn’t ask about everything.”“Hmph! Who are you calling a kid?” Hyan shot back, placing her hands on her hips, clearly annoyed.Shienna chuckled, then straightened her posture slightly. “Aren’t you… a little small?” she teased.Hyan froze. Her eyes instinctively dropped to Shienna’s chest, then down to her own. Instantly, her expression crumpled. Like a deflated

“Stop investigating, or you’ll die.”The message had been written on a piece of paper stuck to the glass. As soon as Hudson read it, the paper suddenly caught fire on its own and burned to ashes. It was obviously meant as a warning, a way to show that the other side had plenty of tricks.“Hmph.”Hudson let out a cold snort, completely unimpressed. He turned around, went back to the bed, and resumed meditating.Stop investigating or die? That kind of threat might scare other people, especially after seeing something so strange. But to Hudson, it meant nothing. If something like this could shake him, then all his years of training would’ve been pointless. If there was nothing to find, then there was nothing to investigate. But if there was something there, then no threat in the world would make him stop.Hudson didn’t see himself as a hero, but he had his own principles. There were things worth doing, and things that couldn’t be ignored. The White Night Gate was clearly an evil organiza
