The next day, a piece of news shook the entire city of Los Angeles.

"Next up is a news report."

"Last night, there was a brawl at the Apex Entertainment Club, resulting in the deaths of four people."

"Among them, the eldest son of Williams Thompson, the director of the city's education office, also died in the fight."

This news spread throughout the city of Los Angeles in just twenty minutes.

In the education office of Los Angeles city, an old man sat behind his desk.

After hearing the news report, he slammed his hand on the table and picked up the phone to make a call.

"Hello, is this Director Brown?"

"Yes, what is it?" Director Brown replied impatiently.

He had stayed up all night dealing with the annoying reporters from the Apex Entertainment Club incident and now he was receiving yet another phone call.

"You really have a lot of important people to forget about, Director Brown," said Williams Thompson, the director of the education office, in a low voice.

"It's been so long since we've seen each other, and you've already forgotten about me?" Director Brown looked at the phone number and said,

"Oh, it's my godson. Don't say that, Director Williams. I worked the night shift last night and haven't rested yet. The higher-ups have been pressuring me to handle this matter well. Please bear with me.'

"My son also died last night, but I don't think things are that simple," Williams Thompson sobbed, wiping away tears from the corner of his eyes.

"You were at the scene. Did you find anything? Tell me some clues so I can avenge my son."

"We've already released the news. Haven't you seen it?" Director Brown hurriedly said.

He knew the actual situation at the scene, which was completely different from the news report.

"Don't try to fool me with that. Your tricks may work on others, but not on an old man like me. I have no one to rely on now, only you, my godson. If I can avenge my son, then all my family's assets will be yours."

"l understand what you mean, godfather," Director Brown thought to himself, feeling a sense of excitement.

"The one who was killed was my elder brother. Although he wasn't my real brother, if it weren't for your support and help over the years, I wouldn't be where I am today. So your matter is my matter."

"I hope you remember what you just said and don't disappoint me," Williams Thompson said.

"Don't worry, godfather. I will give you a satisfactory answer. However, this matter is a bit tricky, and it may take some time to conclude," Brown, the commander, hesitated and said, "The case is complicated because my brother's body was mutilated in twenty places, and his bones were visible. I have been in law enforcement for so long, but this is the first time I have seen such a horrific scene."

"This criminal is a repeat offender, and all the surveillance footage at the scene was destroyed. We can't see anything," Brown continued.

Unable to control his emotions, Williams Thompson burst into tears and cried out, "My son!"

Hearing the crying on the other end of the phone, Brown sneered and said insincerely, "Godfather, the dead cannot come back to life. You must take care of yourself." Brown was brought up by Williams Thompson, and he remembered it well.

He had also made a lot of contributions to his work. However, whenever it came to William Thompson's son, Brown was always ignored.

The seed of hatred had taken root in his heart, and now that William Thompson had lost his son, it was an opportunity for Brown to take revenge.

At the Smith family company.

"Are all the family members here? I have an important message to tell everyone," Ethan said slowly, sitting in the middle of the conference table.

The high-level members of the Smith family and the company executives were all seated on both sides of the conference table, listening attentively to Ethan Smith.

"Except for your granddaughter who is always late, everyone else is here," a heavily made-up woman sitting next to him said, "She has been causing trouble for the family recently, and we have to wait for her every morning meeting."

"Big brother, you have to control your spoiled granddaughter," the woman who spoke was Camila's cousin, Amelia, and her words were sharp and sarcastic.

Ethan sat silently with his head down. The fact that Camila was unmarried and pregnant had made him unable to hold his head up in the family.

He had no weight in his words, and only attended this meeting out of obligation.

"Okay, let's not talk so much. If you don't speak, no one will treat you like a mute," Ethan rebuked, feeling angry that his daughter was causing trouble in front of so many high-level executives.

"Dad," Amelia called out helplessly.

"Did you forget that you said you wanted to kick Camila out of the family? And now you're making everyone wait for her. Isn't that contradictory?"

"So Camila has already been kicked out of the Smith family. I thought the old chairman had a sense of justice and kept her," someone whispered.

"Yeah, it turns out that everything was fake."

"It's a bit too hypocritical." The other shareholders whispered among themselves, but the executives remained silent.

They didn't seem to have that much power compared to the shareholders.

Ethan's face turned red with anger and he shouted, "Shut up!"

Amelia stomped her feet in frustration. As everyone was whispering and chatting, the door to the meeting room opened and Camila walked in.

All eyes turned to her and people whispered softly. Camila ignored them and went to her reserved seat.

"The Smith family's relationships are so messy. They just said they kicked her out, and now they're letting her come to the meeting," someone commented.

The murmurs filled the meeting room, and Ethan couldn't take it anymore.

"Silence!" he shouted.

"I have heard what you all have been discussing, but that is our family matter. I hope you won't make any assumptions," Ethan said with a smile, although he was already furious inside.

"Now, let me get to the important matter. I received a notification last night that a billionaire will be visiting our city and building a villa worth around 20 billion dollars. I hope everyone here can do their best to get a piece of the pie," he continued.

Everyone perked up at the news.

Ethan smiled inwardly, relieved that he had diverted their attention from the previous matter.

"That's all for today's meeting, Let's work hard, everyone," he said before turning to the executives and shareholders outside of the Smith family.

"Excuse me, everyone. I need to attend to some personal matters. Thank you." The shareholders and executives left the meeting room without any fuss.

"Camila," Ethan whispered.

"Yes, Grandpa?" Camila responded.

"Your father must have told you about your wedding with Mr. Joe from the Anderson family on the 8th day of the Lunar New Year, which is next Monday," he said.

"I won't marry him," Camila replied firmly.

Three people got into a car and headed towards the Smith family company. "Maybe we shouldn't go," Camila leaned on Andrew Wilson's shoulder, her face full of anxiety. "My grandfather and father hate you to the bone. I'm afraid something will happen if you go. Besides, they want me to get married next Monday. If you suddenly appear, I don't know how they will treat you." Andrew Wilson smiled slightly and said, "Don't worry. Since I dare to go with you to see them, I am prepared. You can take a nap if you didn't sleep well last night. I'll wake you up when we get there." He lightly brushed Camila's nose as he spoke. "Annoying," Camila said shyly. "Our child is here too, be careful." "Mama, I want to touch your nose too," Little Ryan suddenly said. "Why is your face turning red?" "That's because your mother feels very hot right now," Andrew Wilson laughed. After a sleepless night and mental exhaustion, the mother and son leaned on Andrew Wilson's shoulder and lap a

Outside the university town, Andrew Wilson was sound asleep in a hotel room when a phone call came in. "Who is it?" Andrew Wilson complained without curiosity. "It's me, Dad, Ryan Wilson." Andrew immediately woke up and sat up. "Ryan, what's wrong? Didn't you go to school today?" "No, Dad. Can you come here? I'm so scared. Grandpa just came and bullied Mom. He wanted Mom to get married, but Mom refused. Grandpa scolded her and there were four fierce uncles standing at the door, not letting us out. I want to go out and play with Mom." "I know. l'll be right there." After hanging up the phone, Andrew Wilson wondered if he had really misunderstood Camila. Maybe what scorpion said was right. Sometimes what he saw and heard with his own eyes and ears might not be true. He thought back to last night and realized that he had only complained about Camila and hadn't given her a chance to explain before leaving. Andrew Wilson picked up the phone and called Robert White. In the conference room of the Smith family, both sides were at a stalemate and the situation was getting out of hand. "James Smith, is this how you educate your children?" Ethan glanced at James and said, "I can overlook what happened before, but this time, there can be no mistakes in the marriage between Camila and the second son of our family." "Considering the sudden proposal from the Anderson family, it is convenient for business dealings between our companies, and for Camila, she has found a reliable home. It's a win-win situation." Sitting silently on the side, James' couldn't help but nod and smile, "Yes, I will definitely persuade Camila." "Yes, big brother, you must persuade Camila. It's not easy for her to raise a child alone. It's time to find a partner." "Camila, don't hesitate anymore. The second son of the Anderson family has a wealthy family. You won't lose out by marrying him." Looking at the ridicule of her relatives around her, Camila was completely dis

After leaving the Smith family's courtyard, Andrew Wilson hailed a taxi and got in. "Driver, to the University City," Andrew Wilson blurted out. "Okay." As for why Andrew Wilson was going to the University City, even he himself was confused. Outside the window, the buildings flashed by floor by floor. In the night of Los Angeles , the lights were dazzling, and the city was much quieter than during the day. His phone rang in his pocket. "Master Andrew, I have safely escorted Teacher Evelyn home. Where are you now? I'll come pick you up immediately," Robert White said respectfully on the other end of the phone. "No need, you can go back. l'll take a walk by myself," Andrew Wilson said softly. Robert White didn't dare to ask any more questions. He knew very well that Andrew Wilson, as a nobleman, would be considered as stalking him if anyone asked about his whereabouts. In the land of California, only one person could inquire about his whereabouts, and that was th

"What am I going to do? I hope I didn't blind myself by hitting my eye just now," Nathan, the supervisor, said with a hint of despair as he watched Andrew Wilson approach him. "Don't forget that we live in a society governed by the rule of law. If you kill me, you will also be sentenced," he continued. "In a society governed by the rule of law? You still know that it's a society governed by the rule of law," Andrew Wilson rebuked. "You've done so many unethical things in school, drugging and seducing female teachers, leaving your post without permission, and losing your moral compass. You don't deserve to live." "Even if I were to be sentenced to death, it wouldn't be up to you to decide. It would have to go through the judicial department, and you can't take the law into your own hands," Nathan hurriedly explained. Upon hearing this, Andrew Wilson's lips curled into a smile as he said, "Do you recognize this?" He took out a token from his waist, on which was carved a
