Later that evening, as the city settled at night, Barry’s private line buzzed sharply on the polished glass desk inside the penthouse.

Sebastian, who stood by the window with a glass of red wine, calmly turned toward the ringing phone.

He set the glass down and answered with composed grace.

“Hello?”

The voice that exploded through the other end echoed across the room.

“You bastard! Barry Sullivan you've ruined me!” the judge screamed furiously. “I was banned just this night—barred from the judiciary with immediate effect! Do you know what that means?! My license, stripped! My privileges—gone! My pension? Revoked! Do you know what you've done to me?!"

Sebastian blinked slowly, unmoved. “I'm afraid this isn't Barry Sullivan. He's out.”

“Then you tell that lowlife son of a bitch that's he's dead meat” The judge cursed so violently, Sebastian could hear the spittle flying through the phone. "I wish him dead. His entire family shall never know peace."

Katherine rose from her chair, her gaze fixed on Harold as if she were watching a specimen under a microscope.“Mr. Grant,” she began, her voice cool and precise, “let’s go back to the night of the party. Tell the court, in your own words, what happened.”Harold leaned back in the witness chair, adjusting his tie as he leaned into the microphone.“Well,” he said, glancing briefly at the jury, “Eleanor and I have history. We were boyfriend and girlfriend back in high school. Things didn’t work out back then, and we went our separate ways. Years later, I hear she’s married to Barry, and her family's company is circling the drain. Out of the goodness of my heart, I decide to help her by investing in Dayton Enterprise.”Katherine didn’t move, letting him dig his own path.“I wanted us to catch up on old times,” Harold continued. “So, I invited both her and Barry to dinner. Seemed like the right thing to do.”Katherine arched a brow. "And the party?"He leaned forward slightly, voice dropp

  • The trial 2

Victor Lennox rose to his full height and approached the stand like a man taking center stage in a grand theater. He adjusted his cufflinks, then offered a polite smile to the judge before turning his attention to Barry.“Mr. Barry,” he began, smoothly, “let’s clarify a few things. Isn’t it true that Eleanor Dayton asked my client, Harold Grant, to invest in Dayton Enterprises?”Barry didn’t flinch. “No. That’s not true. Harold offered to invest in Dayton Enterprise after he invited her to dinner. She didn’t ask.”Victor raised a brow as if amused. “So she didn’t ask. Interesting. So, would you say your wife... politely declined?”Barry’s eyes narrowed. “She accepted. But again, she didn’t ask him for anything. He made the offer willingly.”Victor gave a small nod. “Of course. He offered, she accepted. And after that, what happened, Mr. Sullivan? Harold was generous enough to invest $10 million in a failing company out of the kindness of his heart… only for you and your wife to turn

It was trial day and the courtroom was buzzing with tension.lawyers shuffled papers, reporters whispered, and the occasional camera flash flickered.Harold was late, but this didn't bother Barry. If he doesn't show up, this case would go federal and the Grant family would feel the heat. Just then, the doors swung open.Harold Grant entered, flanked by his legal team. He was dressed in a custom charcoal grey suit, his hair slicked back, a gold watch gleaming on his wrist. Walking behind him was a tall, broad-shouldered man with streaks of white running through the black curtain of hair at the back of his head. His face was aged, but refined. Mid-fifties, clean-shaven with icy, calculating eyes that didn’t flinch beneath the courtroom lights. He wore a deep navy suit, his presence radiating authority with every step.Someone leaned toward Barry and whispered under their breath, “That’s Victor Lennox. Best l

  • The President's loan

The voice on the other end hesitated, then the President said carefully, “Mr. Sullivan, with all due respect, we still have time. Wasn’t the agreement that repayment would commence three years from now? You can't just change terms like this overnight.”Barry's voice was as cold as ice. “Yes,” he said evenly. “But I’ve changed my mind. I want my money back. Now.”There was silence. Then came the subtle sound of shuffling paper, muffled movements, and the creak of leather as someone sat up straighter on the other end of the call. Barry could picture the President scrambling, perhaps pacing his office in growing panic.“Barry, please,” the President said hurriedly. “Even if I wanted to, I can’t repay that right now. That amount... it's too large to liquidate on short notice. My administration would crucify me. Please. I'll do anything. Just give me more time.”Barry remained silent for a little while, letting the tension build. Then he said, “Well… there is one thing you can do for me."

Every news channel, online platform, and blog had picked it up. It was a huge scandal that brought shame and disgrace to the Dayton legacy. In his penthouse, Harold lounged on a cream-colored leather couch, sipping from a crystal glass of aged bourbon as the TV blared the breaking news.“…Mr. Dayton is currently in custody and awaits trial. With a flick of his thumb, he muted the TV, shaking his head in amusement. "Tsk... so that old bastard was behind it all along," he muttered to himself. "What a pain in the ass." Just then, his servant hurried into the room, holding out a phone with a bow. "Your father is calling, sir
