A sect that relies on luck and destiny (Part 7)

Mo Pian sighed as he waved his hand and told Bai Feng:

"Let's get out of here. I will explain to you a little bit about this person so you will be able to avoid her in the future... she is quite the pain in the sides for most normal disciples and hires of the sect."

"You see, Chen Lingxi is the daughter of the second most influential loan shark in the sect, just a little bit below Shredder, his name is Zoro Makioto, and his capital is increasing every day as he gives better rates than Shredder at the moment... or atleast that's what the latest news I heard said."

"Anyways, I'm not sure why she was interested you. But you have to keep yourself away from her. She isn't a good person by a good stretch, as she had been pampered since she was little, and because of that she is very bratty..."

"I think you saw by yourself how she acted because of our lack of ingredients... she mostly did that because you are a new face, and she wanted to make you suffer a bit. Even though she is very bratty, she isn't dumb, so you have seen that she backed away after I brought Shredder's name to the table."

Bai Feng nodded as he poked the place where Lingxi put her hand. He didn't feel any reaction compared to what happened to her. She was blown back by quite a strong rebound, and Bai Feng felt his body shake a bit after what happened. But he didn't feel like anything happened to him by a long stretch.

Mo Pian glanced towards Bai Feng's shoulder and said:

"I'm not sure why she was blown back as I'm not sure what technique she used to scan you and find out you have no Qi in your body. Even though she looks quite weak and dainty on the surface, she is a high-level Qi apprentice, and, surprisingly, she was pushed back like that from a rebound coming from someone with no ki. Maybe you are truly special, Bai Feng, but, surprisingly, Shredder didn't help you to join the sect officially, instead of sending you to me. Couldn't have he seen through you just like Lingxi did?"

Bai Feng shrugged his shoulders as he said:

"He only said that my sister had talent..."

Mo Pian nodded, he didn't know Bai Feng had a sister, but it wasn't his job to ask about her, and since she was recruited by Shredder, that meant there was a very low chance they will meet again as Shredder would make sure she would reach a high level that both Mo Pian and Bai Feng couldn't see in their lives

Atleast Mo Pian was sure he couldn't break through the Qi apprentice level, but Bai Feng was special somehow according to Lingxi, so maybe he would have a better future in the sect.

Bai Feng stretched his muscles as he suddenly felt sore before asking Mo Pian:

"Hey, where can I drink some water... I'm suddenly feeling very thirsty for some reason."

Mo Pian waved his hand and told him:

"Back in the kitchen, we have an appliance where we can get an infinite amount of clear water. Come with me so I can teach you how to use it."

Bai Feng quickly followed Mo Pian to the kitchen, where Mo Pian used a lever to make water pour down a sink which made Bai Feng mutter in awe before putting his mouth near the water dispenser and started drinking until he felt satiated.

Then he used his sleeve to clean his mouth from water, which made Mo Pian shook his head. Even though he did teach him some manners, that didn't mean he would always follow them... but he didn't mind that as long as he didn't fart again with him present or in any place in the building...

Mo Pian sighed, then a small smile appeared on his face as he said:

"Well, now that she is gone, I can go back to teaching you how to cook!"

However, before they could both rejoice, the sound of opening doors was heard once again, but this time around a familiar voice was heard coming through to Bai Feng's ears:

"Little brother? Are you here?"

Bai Feng immediately darted away from the kitchen and into the mess hall to come face to face with a relatively changed Mu An.

She was still as short and stocky as before, but now there was a strange aura surrounding her, which Bai Feng could identify as ki. Meaning that she had successfully reached the Qi apprentice level! This was very surprising as there hasn't been much time at all since the siblings had been separated.

Bai Feng gave his big sister a hug, which she reciprocated. Even though it has been mostly a day in which they were separated, this was the most time without seeing one another as they had lived with each other since they basically opened their eyes, Bai Feng, even more as he was the little brother.

"How have you been doing brother? I heard that you clashed with the subordinate of Chen Lingxi?"

Bai Feng nodded and wondered how news moved so fast. It hadn't been even half an hour since Chen Lingxi left the place.

Mu An grabbed Bai Feng by his cheeks and took another glance at him as she narrowed her eyes and said in surprise:

"You lost weight so quickly? What happened to you here?"

She glanced at Mo Pian who was eyeing the sibling duo from the corner of the kitchen door then he coughed and waved his hand as he smiled and approached them while introducing himself:

"My name is Mo Pian. I'm the one that takes care of Bai Feng while he will work here."

Mu An patted Mo Pian on the shoulder, then she said with a dark expression on her face:

"Why had my little brother lost weight? You didn't put him to any grueling works. Did you?"

Mo Pian coughed as he felt some pressure landing upon his shoulders and his eyes widened. Bai Feng's sister became so strong in such little time? It didn't make sense... but as he thought about those super prodigies, he gave her a small bow of respect, then reported to her what happened to Bai Feng after he tried to use the basic Qi training technique.

Mu An didn't have any experience with techniques nor did she know much about them, she had just cultivated to her current level under the expertise of Mo Pian before she would be introduced to a grand elder that she would take as a master, and make her way up from there, so all she could do was comfort him before saying:

"I will make sure to get you a proper Qi training technique from my future master. You won't have to stay here all alone. Shredder told me a lot of things about the world of cultivation, and I can say this could be a great change of pace for the two of us, along with being a great adventure!"

Mu An was psyched up from Shredder's words as she gesticulated and said things that even Mo Pian didn't know nor have access to, Bai Feng listened quietly to the tales of cultivators and what he and his sister could do in the future. He already knew about the possible future of flying on different objects from getting to the sect on Ming Du's rug, but flying on swords, and other weapons like that sounded cooler.

Mu An chuckled good-naturedly seeing that she got Bai Feng's attention with something else besides food. While the young man was a great foodie, that didn't mean he didn't want to do something else besides eating and sleeping.

Mu An continued to chat with Bai Feng for a little bit more time before a beeping sound was heard coming from her. She gave Bai Feng one more hug before leaving. Bai Feng followed her outside the building only to see her mount a giant duck?

She was there with Shredder who glanced down at Bai Feng and didn't say anything as the duck started to fly in the sky and away from the restaurant. The duck flew above the casinos before taking a sharp increase in altitude and disappearing in the clouds, leaving Bai Feng waving towards the clouds.

Bai Feng sighed as he looked at Mo Pian, who put a hand on his shoulder and consoled him:

"You are talented too, kiddo. I'm sure you will meet your sister again."

Bai Feng nodded and then asked:

"How about teaching me how to cook first?"

Bai Feng somewhat realized that his strength came from food as he was sure he wouldn't have been able to injure Bido if his previous fat self did the same maneuver. Something changed inside his body after he used that basic qi training technique, he didn't feel it at first, but the more he thought about it, the more he understood it.

Mo Pian smiled, seeing that Bai Feng had already gotten over his sister leaving him to fend for himself, then Mo Pian entered back into the building along with him.

The food enthusiast duo entered back into the kitchen, and Mo Pian started to teach Bai Feng how to cook seriously.

What type of meats needed to be cooked well, medium or rare, how to identify these types of meats, how to make good sauces with what you had on hand. How to spice and season your food well.

Basic things that any chef worth his salt would know.

Bai Feng couldn't be considered a genius by a long shot, but anything regarding food was learned quicker than normal due to his enthusiasm towards the subject.

As Bai Feng learned, time passed, and one day went by.

Bai Feng felt extremely tired as he and Mo Pian had stood up all night to go through everything that he was taught. Both of them forgot about the passage of time as they enjoyed themselves, and before they could realize it, one night passed, and it was morning.

Bai Feng yawned and stretched as he got out of the kitchen and went to the back of the building before taking his pants down. He had plenty of bathroom breaks during the lessons, but he also had to cook food and taste it, and the food had accumulated quite a bit in his stomach, so he needed to release the surplus.

The moment Bai Feng crouched down in the bushes near the building, he could swear he heard a laugh coming from above him, it was quite strange considering there were no other humans in the back garden of their restaurant or were there? Mo Pian didn't bother to mention any natives living around.

He tried to finish pooping quickly, but he realized that he had tasted a bit too many of his own dishes, and now he was constipated, putting him in an awkward position. He felt that if he left right now, he would have to come back quickly, or he would poop himself.

Another haunting laugh could be heard above him. which creeped the hell out of Bai Feng. He looked up in wonder to see who was laughing at him only to see the brown owl that had thrown the dirty pears when he tried to pick them up one day ago. It was laughing at him with a vivid human expression while pointing his left-wing at him.

Seemingly finding Bai Feng's current position very comical, it couldn't help but continue laughing in an owlish matter resembling its appearance.

Bai Feng was getting annoyed by the continuous laughing of the owl to the point that he let out a loud wet fart so strong that it ricocheted from the ground and blasted into the owl's face who was standing at the crown of the tree.

The owl stopped laughing as the smell assailed its senses before swaying from side to side and falling directly on Bai Feng's head!
