“So, you hugged another female student in the middle of campus?”
A lecturer’s voice sounded cold.
Morgan sat in a chair inside the faculty office. In front of him stood a middle-aged man with a serious expression.
“That’s not what happened,” Morgan answered calmly.
“Then what happened?”
“The ball was about to hit her.”
The lecturer sighed and rubbed his forehead.
“Helping someone doesn’t mean you can touch her body however you want. A freshman like you should know the basic rules.”
Morgan simply nodded.
“I’m sorry.”
The lecturer stared at him for a moment before finally saying, “Then apologize directly to the female student.”
The lecturer pointed at the door.
“She’s still waiting outside.”
Morgan stood up and walked toward the door. When his hand touched the doorknob, he sighed.
Only a few minutes into his second life, he had already been called to the faculty office. The peaceful life he had imagined seemed to be turning out a little differently than he expected.
Morgan opened the door.
Outside, Angel stood with her arms folded in front of her chest. The moment she saw Morgan, she immediately glared at him.
Morgan stood in front of Angel with both hands at his sides. This time, he did not try to joke or come up with another excuse. After what had happened earlier, he had learned enough that the more he talked, the more likely it was that the problem would grow.
He bowed slightly.
“Sorry.”
Angel simply stared at him.
Morgan continued sincerely, “I really didn’t mean to take advantage of you. I just saw that the ball was going to hit your head and instinctively wanted to help. After that... I made a mistake by hugging you without permission.”
He sighed.
“So, I’m sorry.”
Morgan was already prepared to receive another scolding.
However, the girl simply nodded and replied, “It’s fine.”
Morgan raised his head only to see Angel turn her face away with a small snort before walking away. He stared at her for a while.
Was it really that simple?
After all the commotion earlier, he had expected the girl to at least scold him again.
…
Several hours later, Morgan walked home, leaving the campus behind.
The sky was beginning to change color. The streets were filled with students going home with their friends, several vehicles passed by, and the atmosphere of the city remained as peaceful as he had always dreamed.
Morgan put both hands into his pockets.
“System. I want to ask you something.”
He took a breath.
“Why did you tell me to hug that girl earlier?”
[It was a mission.]
Morgan sighed in annoyance.
“What I’m asking is why did the mission have to be like that?”
[Because the situation at that time required such an action.]
“If you hadn’t given me that strange mission, I wouldn’t have hugged her. And if I hadn’t hugged her, I wouldn’t have been slapped.”
He touched his cheek, which still felt hot and red.
“If I hadn’t been slapped, I wouldn’t have been kicked and then called to the faculty office.”
Morgan narrowed his eyes.
“Do you realize how troublesome all of that was?”
[A little.]
Morgan almost choked. He roughly rubbed his face.
“A little? Now a lot of people on campus know about me. They saw me hug Angel, they heard me confess that I liked her, and now even a lecturer got involved.”
“How am I supposed to live peacefully when it’s already like this on my first day?”
[That attention will decrease as time passes.]
Morgan stared blankly ahead.
“Really?”
[Yes. As long as you do not keep creating new problems.]
Morgan fell silent. He really did not need to think too much about what had happened earlier. People would soon get bored of talking about it. As long as he did not do anything conspicuous, everything would return to normal.
He let out a long sigh. In his heart, he reminded himself once again not to stand out too much. Live normally.
Go to college, eat good food, go home, sleep, then repeat it the next day.
“I just need to live peacefully and enjoy it.”
A black car suddenly stopped beside him, its door opening. Morgan had not even had time to turn around when several large men got out of the car.
They were all wearing neat black clothes, sunglasses, and serious expressions. One of the men moved quickly toward him, and a black cloth immediately covered his head.
“Oi!”
Morgan tried to remove the cloth, but two strong hands immediately grabbed both of his arms.
“Let go!”
His body was simply lifted. He tried to fight back, but everything happened too quickly. One of the men opened the back door of the car, then they shoved Morgan’s body inside.
Morgan fell onto the back seat.
“...”
He still had not understood what had actually happened when the car immediately drove away.
“System, why was I kidnapped?”
[I don’t know.]
Morgan fell silent. For the first time since meeting the System, he felt that the answer was truly unhelpful.
“Aren’t you supposed to know?”
[I do not know everything that happens around you.]
Morgan sighed and leaned his body against the seat. Only a few hours ago, he had promised himself that he would live a normal life.
And now... he had been kidnapped by a group of men in black clothes.
Morgan stared into the darkness behind the cloth covering his head.
“...This time, it’s not even my fault.”

Chapter 012
Back then, threats like that were not something that could be taken lightly. However, he also knew that people who lived in peace did not always have the courage to face violence, especially when they had never truly experienced it.Carew was not a fighter. He even seemed to struggle with lifting a college bag that was too heavy, so it was no wonder he was frightened after being threatened by a group of bullies.Morgan sighed.“Alright. We’ll deal with tomorrow’s problems tomorrow.”Carew quickly raised his head.“Huh? But, Bro, they—”“It’s late. I’m tired, and I want to sleep.”Morgan stood up, then pointed at the sofa Carew was sitting on.“Are you staying over or not? If you are, sleep on the sofa. If not, close the door behind you when you leave.”After saying that, he walked toward his bedroom while yawning. He had no interest in spending his night thinking about a group of bullies who might not even be strong enough to make him lift a finger.Besides, there was still time to de

However, just as that thought crossed his mind, the original owner’s memories resurfaced. This person’s name was Carew. His classmate at college, and also the only friend he was fairly close to.Morgan slowly lowered his hands. He looked at the man who was still crying against his chest, then let out a long sigh. It seemed his new life had given him not only an apartment, college friends, and the chance to enjoy delicious food, but also a friend who appeared to have some serious problems.“Alright,” Morgan said, awkwardly patting Carew’s back. “Now stop crying and explain what happened.”Carew lifted his face. Tears still welled up behind his glasses, and his lips trembled as if he had just heard the cruelest question in the world.“Bro... they’re going to kill me!”Morgan fell silent. The remaining smile on his face slowly disappeared.Morgan looked at Carew, who was still clutching his shirt with a pale face. After letting out a long sigh, he finally opened the apartment door and pu

After wandering around for quite a while, he finally stopped at a crowded barbecue stall. The meat grilling over the charcoal sizzled, while the aroma of rendered fat and charred seasoning made his stomach growl again.Morgan immediately sat down in an empty chair.“Sir, I want satay. A lot of it!”The stall owner looked at him for a moment. “How many skewers?”Morgan studied the grill seriously, as if he were making an important decision that would determine the fate of humanity.“Twenty for now.”“Twenty?!”“If I’m still hungry, I’ll order more.”The stall owner fell silent, unsure whether the man in front of him was joking. However, seeing Morgan take out his money without hesitation, he finally nodded and began preparing the order. Not long afterward, a large plate of satay was placed in front of Morgan, along with a bowl of sauce and several side dishes. Morgan’s eyes lit up, and he picked up the first skewer, biting into the meat with great anticipation.Tender. Savory. The seas
Chapter 009
Morgan only stopped running after making sure no one was chasing him. He slipped into a narrow alley between two old buildings, then leaned against the cold wall while catching his breath. It was already night, and the streetlights could only illuminate part of the alley’s entrance. The farther inside one went, the darker and quieter it became, enough to make an ordinary person think twice before entering.Morgan let out a long sigh.“Alright, System. I’m ready.”He closed his eyes, putting on a resigned expression like a soldier about to accept his death sentence. After making him run around like a madman, all he could do now was hope the electric shock wouldn’t hurt too much. However, several seconds passed without anything happening.Morgan opened one eye.“...Is that it?”[Ding!][Congratulations, Host!][Mission successfully completed.]Morgan immediately opened both eyes. He stared at the narrow ceiling above the alley with a confused expression, as if hoping someone could expla
Chapter 008
Morgan remained silent, trying to figure out how to complete the System’s ridiculous mission without having to do anything excessive. However, his silence only gave Angel an opportunity to move.Angel suddenly stepped on Morgan’s foot, then swiftly twisted her body while swinging her elbow toward the man’s stomach. Her movements were sharp and decisive, as if she genuinely intended to take Morgan down before he could react.Unfortunately, her opponent was not someone who could be dealt with in an ordinary way.Morgan tilted his body slightly to avoid Angel’s elbow, then caught her arm. When Angel tried to use the momentum to break free, Morgan immediately moved behind her and switched their positions in one smooth motion. Before Angel could even realize what had happened, Morgan had already restrained both of her hands behind her back. One of Morgan’s hands locked both of her wrists in place, while his other arm wrapped around Angel’s neck. His fingers only touched her lightly, not ac
Chapter 007
Morgan looked at Angel without any complex change of emotion, but it was clear that he was not particularly pleased either.“I disagree, Senior. I was just joking earlier.”Angel stopped and turned around.“What? Joking?”“Yes, I was just joking. So please let me go.”Morgan was still sitting on the chair with both hands tied behind his back. Strangely, there was not even the slightest hint of panic on his face. He even looked far too relaxed for someone who had just been ordered to be thrown into the sea.Angel narrowed her eyes.“Unfortunately, that decision isn’t yours to make.”She stepped closer until she was standing directly in front of Morgan. Then she leaned down slightly and pointed at the man’s face with one finger.“If you haven’t realized it yet, your life and death are now in my hands.”Morgan looked at the finger in front of his face, then slowly shifted his gaze to Angel’s narrowed eyes.“You’re annoying. I have no reason to let you live.”Morgan fell silent. This time
