“Don’t move too much, kid!”
Morgan did not answer.
Both of his hands were tightly bound behind the chair, while a black cloth covered his entire head. He could not see anything, only hear the sound of the vehicle’s engine slowly fading away and the footsteps of the people around him.
He had been brought somewhere.
Where exactly, Morgan did not know.
However, from the damp smell in the air and the faint sound of waves in the distance, it seemed that the place was not far from the sea.
“Bring him inside.”
“Yes.”
Someone pulled his chair, its legs scraping across the rough floor before finally stopping, and he was seated on a wooden chair.
Morgan remained calm.
If this had happened during the apocalypse, he might have already started looking for a way to escape. But now, he did not know who had kidnapped him or what their purpose was.
For the time being, it was better to listen.
Several footsteps could be heard approaching.
“We’ve brought the person.”
“Good.”
“What about his identity?”
“It still hasn’t been confirmed, but you can be sure we didn’t take the wrong person!”
Morgan raised an eyebrow. So they were not even sure who he was? That was a little strange.
“It doesn’t matter. We’ll find out later. What matters is that he matches the description we were given.”
“Right.”
Someone sounded like they were opening something. Morgan could not see anything, but from the sound of metal scraping against metal, he guessed that those people were carrying weapons.
“Don’t worry. With this person as a hostage, their side will definitely surrender.”
Morgan immediately frowned.
Hostage?
“Then wait until My Lady arrives.”
The atmosphere in the room suddenly became quieter.
Morgan slightly raised his head.
My Lady?
He had heard terms like that in movies about noble families or large organizations. However, hearing it directly in a situation like this made him feel a little uncomfortable.
A moment later, the sound of footsteps came from the direction of the door.
The footsteps were light but steady. Everyone in the room immediately fell silent.
The door opened, and a woman’s voice was heard.
“Where is the person?”
Morgan felt that the voice sounded quite familiar. He tried to remember it.
“Here, My Lady,” one of the men quickly answered. “We have brought the target as ordered.”
“Mn, good. Remove the cover from his head.”
One of the men walked closer, his footsteps becoming clearer. Then someone pulled the black cloth covering his head away.
Light immediately entered his eyes, and Morgan narrowed them. A few seconds later, his vision began to clear.
The first thing he saw was several large men in black clothes standing around him. Behind them stood a woman.
Morgan looked at her.
Long hair, a beautiful face, a sharp gaze, and an expression he knew very well.
Morgan fell silent.
“...You?”
The woman also froze, her eyes widening.
“...You?!”
Angel, the girl he had hugged that afternoon on the System’s orders, who had punched him in the face and kicked him after he said that he liked her feet.
Morgan looked around.
Men dressed in black, firearms, a warehouse, and now Angel. He slowly began to understand the situation.
Angel turned toward her subordinates with an angry expression.
“Who brought him?!”
All the men in the room fell silent. One of them stepped forward nervously.
“We did, My Lady.”
“You?” Angel pointed at Morgan. “Do you know who he is?”
The man swallowed.
“The target we found had the same characteristics, so we—”
“So you just kidnapped a random person?!” Angel interrupted, her voice echoing through the warehouse.
“That’s not it, My Lady. We already made sure—”
“Made sure of what? He isn’t even the person you were looking for!”
Meanwhile, Morgan, who was still tied up, simply looked at her. He actually wanted to say something. However, seeing how everyone in the room immediately lowered their heads whenever Angel became angry, Morgan chose to remain silent.
My Lady, they called her...
So who exactly is this girl?
Angel pointed at one of her subordinates with an annoyed expression.
“How could you make such a huge mistake?”
The man immediately lowered his head and repeatedly apologized.
Angel rubbed her temple, not knowing who to be angry with. Finally, she pointed at Morgan and gave an order.
“Untie him!”
“Yes, My Lady.”
One of the men immediately moved toward Morgan.
As Morgan began to understand the situation, he slowly relaxed again. He even smiled casually, as if he had just realized that all of this was merely a misunderstanding.
“Senior, I thought you deliberately kidnapped me to get revenge. Fortunately, this is just a misunderstanding.”
Angel fell silent. She had to admit that Morgan’s attitude was truly annoying, even when the man was not saying anything particularly provocative. Seeing his relaxed face also immediately reminded her of what had happened on campus a few hours ago.
Angel smiled. However, her eyes remained cold, and that smile did not reach her eyes at all.
She then turned toward her subordinates.
“Forget it.”
Angel casually pointed at Morgan. Her smile grew wider.
“Don’t untie him. Just throw him into the sea.”

Chapter 012
Back then, threats like that were not something that could be taken lightly. However, he also knew that people who lived in peace did not always have the courage to face violence, especially when they had never truly experienced it.Carew was not a fighter. He even seemed to struggle with lifting a college bag that was too heavy, so it was no wonder he was frightened after being threatened by a group of bullies.Morgan sighed.“Alright. We’ll deal with tomorrow’s problems tomorrow.”Carew quickly raised his head.“Huh? But, Bro, they—”“It’s late. I’m tired, and I want to sleep.”Morgan stood up, then pointed at the sofa Carew was sitting on.“Are you staying over or not? If you are, sleep on the sofa. If not, close the door behind you when you leave.”After saying that, he walked toward his bedroom while yawning. He had no interest in spending his night thinking about a group of bullies who might not even be strong enough to make him lift a finger.Besides, there was still time to de

However, just as that thought crossed his mind, the original owner’s memories resurfaced. This person’s name was Carew. His classmate at college, and also the only friend he was fairly close to.Morgan slowly lowered his hands. He looked at the man who was still crying against his chest, then let out a long sigh. It seemed his new life had given him not only an apartment, college friends, and the chance to enjoy delicious food, but also a friend who appeared to have some serious problems.“Alright,” Morgan said, awkwardly patting Carew’s back. “Now stop crying and explain what happened.”Carew lifted his face. Tears still welled up behind his glasses, and his lips trembled as if he had just heard the cruelest question in the world.“Bro... they’re going to kill me!”Morgan fell silent. The remaining smile on his face slowly disappeared.Morgan looked at Carew, who was still clutching his shirt with a pale face. After letting out a long sigh, he finally opened the apartment door and pu
Chapter 010
After wandering around for quite a while, he finally stopped at a crowded barbecue stall. The meat grilling over the charcoal sizzled, while the aroma of rendered fat and charred seasoning made his stomach growl again.Morgan immediately sat down in an empty chair.“Sir, I want satay. A lot of it!”The stall owner looked at him for a moment. “How many skewers?”Morgan studied the grill seriously, as if he were making an important decision that would determine the fate of humanity.“Twenty for now.”“Twenty?!”“If I’m still hungry, I’ll order more.”The stall owner fell silent, unsure whether the man in front of him was joking. However, seeing Morgan take out his money without hesitation, he finally nodded and began preparing the order. Not long afterward, a large plate of satay was placed in front of Morgan, along with a bowl of sauce and several side dishes. Morgan’s eyes lit up, and he picked up the first skewer, biting into the meat with great anticipation.Tender. Savory. The seas
Chapter 009
Morgan only stopped running after making sure no one was chasing him. He slipped into a narrow alley between two old buildings, then leaned against the cold wall while catching his breath. It was already night, and the streetlights could only illuminate part of the alley’s entrance. The farther inside one went, the darker and quieter it became, enough to make an ordinary person think twice before entering.Morgan let out a long sigh.“Alright, System. I’m ready.”He closed his eyes, putting on a resigned expression like a soldier about to accept his death sentence. After making him run around like a madman, all he could do now was hope the electric shock wouldn’t hurt too much. However, several seconds passed without anything happening.Morgan opened one eye.“...Is that it?”[Ding!][Congratulations, Host!][Mission successfully completed.]Morgan immediately opened both eyes. He stared at the narrow ceiling above the alley with a confused expression, as if hoping someone could expla
Chapter 008
Morgan remained silent, trying to figure out how to complete the System’s ridiculous mission without having to do anything excessive. However, his silence only gave Angel an opportunity to move.Angel suddenly stepped on Morgan’s foot, then swiftly twisted her body while swinging her elbow toward the man’s stomach. Her movements were sharp and decisive, as if she genuinely intended to take Morgan down before he could react.Unfortunately, her opponent was not someone who could be dealt with in an ordinary way.Morgan tilted his body slightly to avoid Angel’s elbow, then caught her arm. When Angel tried to use the momentum to break free, Morgan immediately moved behind her and switched their positions in one smooth motion. Before Angel could even realize what had happened, Morgan had already restrained both of her hands behind her back. One of Morgan’s hands locked both of her wrists in place, while his other arm wrapped around Angel’s neck. His fingers only touched her lightly, not ac
Chapter 007
Morgan looked at Angel without any complex change of emotion, but it was clear that he was not particularly pleased either.“I disagree, Senior. I was just joking earlier.”Angel stopped and turned around.“What? Joking?”“Yes, I was just joking. So please let me go.”Morgan was still sitting on the chair with both hands tied behind his back. Strangely, there was not even the slightest hint of panic on his face. He even looked far too relaxed for someone who had just been ordered to be thrown into the sea.Angel narrowed her eyes.“Unfortunately, that decision isn’t yours to make.”She stepped closer until she was standing directly in front of Morgan. Then she leaned down slightly and pointed at the man’s face with one finger.“If you haven’t realized it yet, your life and death are now in my hands.”Morgan looked at the finger in front of his face, then slowly shifted his gaze to Angel’s narrowed eyes.“You’re annoying. I have no reason to let you live.”Morgan fell silent. This time
