"Yeah, I am Nicolas." He was a little bit confused at the sound of the manager but tried as much as he could not to show it.
The agent that sent the ten billion dollars told me that you would be here in thirty minutes but I guess that you were a little bit busy. I am sorry for leaving my duty post." He apologized, running his handkerchief his face that was already dripping with sweat.
He knew already that if by any chance Nicolas gave him a bad rating, the stakeholders were going to fire him right on the spot.
Meanwhile, Nicolas was transfixed in his inner thoughts.
'So this system is real.'
And this time there was not a single trace of doubt in him but it still got him confused.
The banker was wowed by the words but looking at Nicola's, she still could not believe that he was the one that made that kind of deposit.
"Sir, I think that you are making a real mistake here." She drew the attention of the manager over to herself.
"There is certainly no way that he is the VIP that the bank is expecting. Just take a good look at him, he looks so malnourished."
The manager shot several withering stares at her just to stop her from saying more but she deliberately refused to take the hint.
'I can't let this broke ass scammer scam the bank of such a large amount of money.'
"Sir, just take a good look at him, if he had such an amount of money, would he be dressing like a scumbag? First, he tried to beg and now is trying to scam you? Sir you can't allow him to do that right? Ten billion dollars is a whole lot of money, you Know."
'Shit! This fool is trying to chase away our biggest investment. What does she think she is doing?' hitting his head hard.
And even though he was tense, he tried as much as he could to put forward a smile.
"Maybe he is just trying to keep a low profile and nothing more."
"A low profile? The poverty scales through him like the awful stink of hell."
That was Nicola's last straw. Hitting his hands on the table with an air of authority, he froze.
"Is this how your bank treats its customers? I only came here to check the balance and nothing other than that."
"We treat good customers well." She affirmed.
"Well miss, why don't you check the balance yourself."
"That would be perfect." She muttered, taking note of his account details as he voiced it out.
Her hands skimmed through the keys of the System before she made a clicking sound. He searched for his details and it finally popped out.
Her eyes shot wide open and a cough escaped from her mouth.
"It's not possible." She was taken aback with so much shock.
"You have seen for yourself now right?" The manager could no longer fake his smile anymore.
A fake chuckle crammed out from her lips but none of the men that were standing with her were smiling.
"I think that this is all a misunderstanding and nothing more, Sir. I thought..."
"You thought what?" The manager could no longer hold his anger.
"And at the thought that I even give you the heads up to stop this madness of yours."
She shuttered not knowing what to do. But panicking was not going to make this any better than they were already.
"I am sorry sir and I promise that it's not going to happen again." She apologized but her apologizes did not go down well with him
"Yeah, it's certainly not going to happen again."
A sigh of relief escaped from her lips placing her hands on her cheek because she never thought that she was going to get out of that.
"Because you are fired, we don't need workers like you here." He growled.
She was taken aback by these words and she fell on her knees.
"Please, sir. I need this job. You have to forgive me."
"Sure, you are forgiven already but you can no longer work here."
She shivered not knowing what else to do. Before she could tell what was happening next, the security walked into the place dragging her away.
"I am sorry about that." He apologized to VIP Nicolas.
"It's nothing," Nicolas replied.
The system is real now he is in big trouble.
"So sir, I already prepared all the documents that are needed, you only need to sign here. And your platinum account and card are ready already." He brought out a piece of paper from his pocket pointing to the end line that he needed to sign under.
He signed it quickly but the manager did not seem to be done with him. He brought out a card from his pockets and handed it over to him.
"This is your card, sir, you can customize the password with the machine."
After he was done with the process, he walked away from the bank with an air of fulfillment.
[ 1 point added, host now believes in the system ]
[ 70 hours still left for this task to be accomplished ]
Now it struck him that real trouble had just begun, how was it possible for him to spend a whopping sum of ten billion dollars in less than three days now when he barely used 50 dollars in a month?
Thoughts ran through his head but he knew already that for that amount it would be way too impossible for him.
'What do I do now?' He thought again.
"Hey System! I think! Can I ask some questions?" He inquired.
"I'm kinda confused here."
[ Yeah, I am here to answer any questions of the host ]
"Are you an AI or a game box or.."
[ Maybe a mixture of both. But systems have existed for age ]
"So who was the last person that had access to this system?"
[Lord canny west.]
At the word, he froze. He was the richest man in the world and for the person that was before him, he was two times Richer.
Even though he refused to believe that, he refrained from asking certain kinds of questions.
"Who knows what punishment I might get next."
[The current host is supposed to be triple times richer than the previous host. ]
"Isn't there a way to avoid death or something? Because this task is just way too impossible."
[The gravity of the task depends on the severity of punishments so I am afraid not. However, it must be stated that for every task allocated to the system, there is always a way to scale through. The host just needs to be open to the business around him.]
'I can see anything
[ System can read host's thoughts ]
"Just great." He thought aloud.
[ For a point, the host can get cheated by the system. Does the host wish to take this option? ]
"Yeah. It's better than dying." He snapped in quickly.
[ The company of my ex's father is currently under troubled waters and is partnering with a company soon since the company is about to be sold out and will be getting a new manager as announced. The host can be the one to buy this company if he plays his cards well. ]
His face flushed into a frown as memories of the past flushed into his head. The betrayal, the way that they had broken his phone, hurt his sister.
A tear escaped from his eyes.
One mixed up with sorry and near anger, crying out for vengeance and nothing other than that.
"Kelly." He yelled out in his head.
But then, he thought again, he didn't know where and when exactly this deal was going to be initiated.
"Can you tell me the place and time that this is going to take place?" He inquired.
[ System can only give clues and not let out anything. The host used to be a renowned hacker before he quit. Now seeing that the world isn't what he thinks, isn't Host going to use this skill? ]
He had stopped because his mother told him to and after he discovered that he was only being used by his bosses who paid Peanuts for his Job.
"I need to get a phone and be good at that."
"He remembered that the iPhone 15 Pro Max was realized that day and with all the specifications, it was going to be the best bet for the job.
And there was only one place that he could get it now.
The official store.
He boarded a taxi quickly and drew a stop at the store but at the other end since cars were prohibited from dropping off at the property.
As he was about to cross the road to the other end, he heard someone calling his name.
"Hey broke ass Nicolas." He heard.
