Something like fear ran through his heart at the fact that he would have to repay this use of the destroyer system, especially when he didn’t know what the price would be, and especially when he knew this feature was a malicious one.

Dorian looked up at the smirking man and responded,

“Yes, I am awake, and don’t you think I need answers to my questions?”

Dorian could see Dave stiffen beside him but he ignored that reaction.

It was better Dave was out of the line of attack.
