A gentle breeze whistled, and the sound of morning animals echoed softly. Sunlight pierced through the leaves, making Song Que raise his palm. His eyes blinked.

His stomach growled, a sign that he was hungry. Song Que wandered around to look for food. Not far from there he saw a deer. His eyes immediately lit up and he began stalking it to catch it. Song Que focused and leaped like a predator aiming for its prey.

However, he heard the whistling of the wind from an arrow that seemed to be heading toward the deer from another direction.

The arrow pierced the deer right in the neck at the same moment Song Que grabbed the deer’s leg.

Song Que stood up and looked toward the direction the arrow had come from. He saw three people there walking toward him.

“Boy, release that deer. That is our master’s prey!” one of the three said, emphasizing that he was a guard by mentioning his master.

Song Que looked at the person standing in the middle, holding a bow while staring at him with disgust.

“No,” Song Que answered firmly.

“Hand it over quickly if you don’t want to die!” the guard threatened again, glaring as he stepped forward three steps while holding his sword in a combat-ready stance.

“I’m already hungry. I won’t give away my prey. I see you people don’t really need this animal anyway, so just give it to me!” Song Que turned around. He did not want to deal with arrogant people. He dashed away using his speed.

“Chase him. I never fail to get what I want!” Hu Zaimin said arrogantly.

As the youngest son who had been spoiled by his father, the Patriarch of the Single Sword Sect, Hu Zaimin was used to being arrogant about everything. Moreover, he was always accompanied by two experts at the Energy Core Realm. For him, capturing a boy was only a matter of time, and he was completely calm about it.

One guard moved by leaping in front of Song Que, blocking the boy’s path as he ran.

“Haha, you can’t run, boy. You have offended our master. Blame yourself for not having power,” the guard said while attacking Song Que.

Seeing the attack coming, Song Que pulled the arrow that was stuck in the deer’s neck, then threw the deer aside. The next second, the arrow attempted to block the incoming sword.

“He is very stupid. How could an arrow possibly stop a sword!” Hu Zaimin sneered from afar when he saw Song Que using an arrow to block a sword. To him it was impossible, and the same thought crossed the mind of the guard attacking Song Que.

“Idiot!” the guard sneered. He did not even release energy for this fight. In his opinion, a simple slash was enough to kill the boy before him.

But unfortunately, he had made the wrong decision.

Song Que moved by instinct. He ducked, letting the sword pass above his head, then thrust the arrow into the arm of Hu Zaimin’s guard.

Immediately a scream echoed as the arrow pierced through the arm.

“Bastard!” the guard shouted angrily, clutching his arm in pain.

No one had expected this to happen. Even a small mistake could cause real loss. Hu Zaimin’s eyes widened when he saw it, as did the guard behind him.

When Song Que stabbed the arrow through the arm, he jumped toward the opponent’s left leg and swung his foot toward the man’s chest.

Baam!

The guard was thrown backward and slammed hard into the ground, scattering dust. Blood could be seen spilling from his mouth.

Song Que did not want to deal with them any longer. Right now his stomach was extremely hungry. He turned around, grabbed the deer, and ran through the forest.

Hu Zaimin’s guard moved after receiving a hand signal ordering him to chase. Meanwhile Hu Zaimin himself approached Gu Dai.

“Uncle, how is your arm?” he asked while sitting beside him.

He only asked but did nothing to help. But Gu Dai was already used to that treatment.

“I’m sorry I couldn’t get your prey, Young Master. I was careless because I underestimated him,” Gu Dai sighed, grinding his teeth until a faint scraping sound could be heard.

He then took a pill from his ring and swallowed it. After that he pulled the arrow out of his arm. Fortunately it had not shattered the bone, otherwise it would take much longer to heal.

“Forget it! I want to rest!” Hu Zaimin looked for a seat near a shady tree.

Meanwhile Song Que quickly searched for the nearest river to clean the deer meat.

But Song Que felt that someone was following him. After becoming a cultivator, his hearing and sight had become quite sharp.

He decided to drop the deer on the ground and then jumped onto a tree branch.

Hei Di arrived where the deer lay. He spread out his perception to detect the boy’s presence and found him. Hei Di smiled while looking up at the tree branch.

“You can’t hide from me, boy!”

Song Que did not yet understand why he had been discovered. He had only just begun learning cultivation. He did not know that people could sense his aura even if he hid.

If he had kept running and increased his speed, perhaps he could have escaped. But now, who knew what fate awaited him.

“Just take the deer. I’m not hungry anymore,” Song Que said from the tree branch.

He had decided to give it up. But would Hei Di be satisfied?

“You already injured my friend. Do you think that can be repaid just by giving me this deer? You are terribly mistaken, boy!”

Hei Di jumped onto the tree branch carrying a sword. Of course he wanted to finish things quickly.

But Song Que immediately leaped to another branch to avoid the slash.

“Trying to run? It’s not that easy!”

Hei Di increased his speed and managed to catch up to Song Que with a fast sword swing. If that strike landed, Song Que’s body would surely be torn apart or split in two.

Song Que sensed the urgency of the situation. His hand wrapped around the tree trunk as he twisted his body and delivered a kick toward Hei Di’s back.

The movement was extremely fast. Whenever his life was threatened, the entity inside his body would inject power to accelerate his movements. Of course, the entity did not want to lose its host.

Baam!

Hei Di was thrown away, crashing face-first into the ground. Meanwhile Song Que stood calmly on the branch. He felt great power flowing back into his body.

“I must cultivate seriously to survive! But right now I must defeat him first!”

Hei Di was shocked by that attack. He had not anticipated it. In his view, the boy was only at the middle stage of the Fighter Realm, yet he had managed to push him back even though he himself was at the Initial Stage of the Energy Core Realm.

However, he assumed it was merely luck.

He spat onto the ground, spitting out the dirt that had entered his mouth.

“You’re quite capable, boy! Taste your death!”

Hei Di shouted as he tightened his grip on the sword. A burst of light appeared along the sharp edge of the blade. When it was released, the light formed a sharp crescent.

But Song Que did not stay still anymore. He also gripped the sword left behind by his father.

That sword did not emit light like Hei Di’s attack. But he believed its power was enough to block the opponent’s strike.

So foolish! Hei Di was very pleased to see his opponent daring to clash directly with his attack.

Baam!

A booming sound echoed when Song Que slashed the incoming attack in midair. Perhaps he had been too naive to think it would be easy.

His body was thrown backward and slammed into another tree due to the force of the attack. His clothes were torn, and he suffered serious injuries, evident from the blood he vomited.

The wind stopped blowing.

Hei Di remained stunned by the result.

“His body is strong enough to withstand my attack… and he didn’t even die!”

Song Que looked at him with hatred, his blood boiling.

Immediately after that, his body emitted a terrifying black aura, transforming the atmosphere and the situation into something extreme.

“What is happening?”

Hei Di felt fear rising in his heart as the black aura spread.

At this moment, Song Que took out a box of needles. The box was golden, with an engraving of a flying crane on its lid. Inside were seventeen needles of varying lengths, carefully crafted to perfection. No one knew who had forged such high-quality golden needles. In truth, a complete set consisted of eighteen needles. However, Song Que always kept one needle inside his storage ring—ready to be used at any moment, whether for healing… or for silently taking a life. Though small, the needles were not merely tools of medicine—they were deadly weapons as well. In a short time, Song Que had mastered both aspects. With such skill, he could already be called a Heavenly Hand Physician. After Gong Hanbu was laid on the bed, Song Que stood beside him. He reached out, placed his fingers on the pulse, and began injecting his energy into Gong Hanbu’s body. Everyone waited anxiously for the results. They had never seen such a miraculous physician before. But if Song Que truly was one, then g

“Patriarch!” everyone greeted Gong Juan as he arrived with Song Que.Gong Juan waved his hand and asked, “How is the situation?”“Not good, Patriarch. Look at him—he’s starting to tire, but we don’t know how long the chains will hold. If they break, none of us may survive!” Gong Pei explained.Gong Juan looked at the clan ancestor—his own father. He remembered clearly that his father had once been a kind man, someone who avoided conflict. He had always been honest and highly respected, having reached the Peak Stage of the Energy Core Realm. He was the only one in the Gong Clan to reach such a height, elevating the clan to a first-tier power. But ever since his father developed this madness, the Gong Clan had declined sharply to a second-tier force. If things continued like this—if the illness remained uncured or if the ancestor were to die—they could fall to a third-tier clan. And that would be disastrous.Third-tier clans were often oppressed. Many of them constantly sought to rise b

Gong Hye was the fifth child of the second wife. She was the only daughter among Gong Juan’s descendants—and also the youngest. In fact, her age was nearly the same as that of her nephews.Hearing the news, everyone immediately rose from their seats. It had been about a month since their ancestor last suffered a relapse of his madness. Now, they had to administer calming medicine again to suppress it. However, the real difficulty lay in the ancestor’s strength—if not handled quickly, it could easily kill.Just the previous month, nine guards had already died. Now, who knew how many more would fall? They hurried toward the underground chamber. Along the way, Patriarch Juan suddenly remembered Song Que.“You all go ahead. Try not to get too close—just hold him off for now. Hopefully, the chains can still restrain him. I’ll go fetch som

Arriving at the Gong ClanSong Que entered the territory of the Gong Clan. The clan itself was located in a large city known as Green City. They headed toward a fairly large residence, led by Gong Juan.“Welcome to my residence, Young Master Song. I hope you don’t mind staying for a night or two—or even longer!” Gong Juan now acted somewhat respectfully. In this world, strength stood above wealth. Although he was wealthy, his strength was far below that of Song Que, who was still young. And the world respected the strong. That was why he treated Song Que with such courtesy. Building a relationship with him would only bring greater honor to his clan.He was very certain that even if all the Fighter-level experts in his clan were gathered together, they still wouldn’t be able to stop Song Que. For some reason, that confidence had firmly taken root in his heart. And it wasn’t without reason. He knew clearly that Wan Hong had reached the Middle Stage of the Fighter Realm, yet he had been

The Sword Eye and the pinnacle of magic were two existences capable of killing with nothing more than a gaze. However, reaching such a level required time and profound experience. There were specific stages to it—but there was no need to discuss them now.Wan Hong spoke,“You truly have potential, young man. I admire you. If you kneel now, I will forget that you beat my subordinates. And you can come with me.”Of course, Wan Hong had already thought things through. Even if he defeated Song Que, there would still be a price to pay. And in his weakened state, many predators would emerge—like tigers hunting a wounded deer. So, the best option in his mind was to make Song Que kneel and submit. As for himself, kneeling before a mere youth was unthinkable. That would be like inviting lurking predators to mock a lone wolf king separated from its pack.“I’ll give you a chance. Kneel and follow me, and I will forget everything that has happened!” Wan Hong repeated.“I’ll give you that same cha

The “painful greeting” was merely an expression—like a form of salutation. And Wan Hong wanted a greeting that would hurt, as repayment for the humiliation he had suffered. He felt deeply insulted by Song Que’s defiance and by how he had inspired courage in all the villagers of Li Village. How could he not? All this time, they had bowed their heads, obedient to every rule and action imposed by Wan Hong. But not anymore. This was the beginning—his chance to reassert his dominance, to ensure that such defiance would never happen again.Eight men formed a circle, including Wan Hong himself as the leader. He commanded them like a military officer. Perhaps he truly had once been one. Four of the eight attacked Song Que simultaneously from different directions.A sword swung through the air, its sharp whistle splitting the wind, carrying a terrifying force that would have easily overwhelmed an ordinary person. But today, they had chosen the wrong opponent.Today might very well be the celeb
