Chapter 10: Conflicts on the Party

The speaker was Steve; although they didn't attend the same school, Steve's family did business with Bella's family, so they know each other.

Louis hearing Steve's voice didn't show any displeasure. It seemed to him that their words were like the humming sound of tiny mosquitoes.

Steve was infuriated by his attitude toward Louis. He still doesn't believe Louis is a rich man. Yesterday, Louis must have just gone shopping for some rich man. Otherwise, how could a poor guy like Louis have such much money?

Bella didn't even trust Steve's words, but Judy, besides Steve, also sarcastically said: "Yes, he couldn't even buy me a present when we were in love. That suit of his was probably rented. Looking at such expensive clothes, it must have cost you a month's overtime, right?"

Immediately next to him came the sound of chattering. They were all from the school and knew about Louis' past stories. They laughed at him.

Louis didn't answer but just looked at Bella.

Bella trusted the words of the others. She felt Louis was trying to pretend to be rich; what a waste of her precious time.

She looked disdainfully at Louis and then walked over to her friend. When Louis saw that, he couldn't help but laugh sarcastically.

Sure enough, he thought it was right; that beautiful girl only came to him because she felt that he was rich, she would not be with him when he was in trouble, and she might even mock him.

Steve saw Bella leave, and Louis didn't say a word and felt that Louis was incompetent. He took Judy's hand and arrogantly said to Louis: "You keep dreaming; poor people like you don't want a girlfriend!"

Then he happily left. Louis paid no attention to them. Steve is short-brained; wait for him to finish his training and return to school. He will make Steve never arrogant again. Steve will regret everything he's done!

At this moment, there was an "Oh" outside; someone seemed to have just arrived. Louis looked out curiously when he saw the person who had just come; he couldn't help but widen his eyes.

That person was Scarlet. How beautiful she is today. Her light blonde hair fell down her back, and on her head was a lovely tiara. She wore an incredibly gorgeous princess dress. Look at her like a pure and sweet princess who is kind and not pretentious.

Everyone was bewildered by Scarlet's beauty. Steve, too, Scarlet is prettier than Judy; he can't help but look a little more. Judy next to him saw him like that and frowned.

She looked towards Scarlet with eyes filled with hatred and cruelty. Why is there someone more beautiful than her? She wishes she could ruin Scarlet's pretty face!

Scarlet didn't care about everyone's eyes. She seems to be looking for something. When she saw Louisi, she was amazed. She ran to Louis and said with a smile: "Louis, is that you? I almost didn't recognize you; you're so dapper today."

Somehow Louis felt a little embarrassed when Scarlet complimented him like that. He blushed slightly, smiled, and said: "You are much more beautiful; you look like a princess in a fairy tale."

Scarlet heard that, then blushed and lowered her head; after a while, she looked up at Louis and said: "I was afraid that you weren't used to here, so I tried to come early. It's still too late; they do not bully you?"

Louis, of course, wouldn't tell Scarlet about what had just happened. He smiled and said, "Not at all."

Scarlet looked at Louise. She felt that Louis's outfit today was costly; maybe he rented it so he wouldn't embarrass her when he came to her birthday party.

Scarlet did not feel contempt for Louis but found him to be lovable and caring. Louis seems able to tell what Scarlet is thinking; as expected, she is lovely.

He took out his present and gave it to Scarlet: "This is my present; I hope you won't hate it."

Scarlet is extremely curious about what Louis will give her. She smiled and said, "Can I open it now?"

Louis just found her cute; he nodded and said: "Okay, you open it."

Scarlet happily opened the present. The gift took her by surprise. The world has only ten pieces because it's a limited edition dress. She did not expect Louis to give her; she was shocked.

The people around saw Scarlet was always talking to Louis and were extremely jealous. But they were amazed when they saw Scarlet open Louis' present and take out the limited edition dress.

Steve's voice came again at this moment: "That guy didn't fool you guys, were you? How could he have the money to buy such an expensive dress? It's a fake!"

Most of the people here know Louis's situation at school. They found Steve very reasonable; the dress Louis gave Scarlet must be fake!

Even though Steve had seen Louis buy that dress, he still couldn't believe it. Louis felt Steve dancing like a clown. He always tries to humiliate him and refuses to accept the truth he sees.

Scarlet could not help but furrow her brows when she heard the gossip around. She also felt that Louis did not have the money to buy this expensive dress.

However, she did not despise Louis but only felt guilty. She shouldn't have opened presents here and made Louis feel so awkward. Scarlet apologetically looked at Louis and smiled, saying, "Okay, who cares what it is? I like your gift."

Louis looked at Scarlet in surprise. He thought that after hearing the doubts and gossip of the people around, Scarlet would hate him. But she was a hundred thousand times more beautiful and kind than he imagined!

Louis looked at Scarlet gently and said, "I don't care what other people think, but I care what you think. If you trust me, you can find someone to examine this dress when the party is over."

Scarlet had never seen Louis so handsome and gentle. She opened her mouth to say something when suddenly melodious music sounded. Dancing began.

Everyone had a dance partner from before, but Louis didn't know this, so no one matched him. Those who knew him at school saw his situation and mocked him.

"He doesn't even have a dance partner."
