CHAPTER 5

After the meal, Mr. Benjamin Lewis took his son to the living room, which was full of portraits of his grandparents, and then he saw the portrait of his mother. He stood there and tears were choked up in his eyes.

“I miss her,” Mr. Lewis said with his face etched with bitterness and disappointment.

“I'm sorry for not listening to you, I had no idea she was just a gold digger. She was just after my money. I was foolish and I regretted everything.”

“ How did you find out?” Jason asked.

*I was informed that she was having an affair with a guy called Donald Moore. I asked my men to trace her and she was found in a hotel with him. She even tried to steal some money from my locker thinking I wouldn't find out but I saw her through the CCTV camera in my home office, she lied it wasn't her and She also told me that she was pregnant only for me to find out it was a lie. Son, I'm sorry for not listening to you, I was blinded by love.” Mr. Benjamin uttered.

Jason wasn't surprised to hear Sofia's scandalous act, he knew her very well and he had warned his father but he never listened. It was a good thing because his father had learned his lesson not to trust any girl and to also listen to his son.

Sofia was just here to cause a rift between father and son. Sofia Clark was from a poor family and she always tried to extort money from rich guys claiming she is from a rich family. Her beauty is what attracts most rich men to her and it was the same thing that attracted both father and son.

“Did you marry her,” he uttered calmly.

“No, I didn't get married I found out after you left. I am happy the marriage didn't happen, I even had my men beat her up and throw her into the street where she belongs,” he uttered.

Jason stared at his father, he took a deep breath as he tried to force a smile.

“I have something important we need to discuss now you are back.” Mr. Benjamin said.

“What is it?” Jason asked.

Mr. Lewis snapped his finger and Robert walked towards him, handing him all the files.

“You are the only heir, I will hand over all my properties to you,” Jason stared at the files, “You will only need to sign.” Mr. Benjamin said.

Jason took the file and signed at the necessary place he was supposed to sign, before being handed another document to sign.

“Tomorrow, Robert will take you to the company. Where you will meet your new staff.” Mr. Benjamin stated.

Jason nodded Softly. “What about you Father, are you not coming with me?” He asked.

“I have an appointment tomorrow.” Mr. Benjamin said.

Mr. Lewis was trying to avoid any questions from Jason, so he immediately switched the conversation.

“I trust you, son, I know you can do better than me. You have an idea about how the company works already and it will be easy for you to manage the company.” Mr. Lewis said with a smirk.

“But I will still need to learn some things, Father,” Jason said calmly.

“You don't need to worry, I'm here to guide you and I have assigned Robert to show you everything you need to know. You need to rest, you will be going to the company tomorrow.” Mr. Benjamin said.

The Lewis family is the most powerful and richest in Greensboro. They own the majority of the lands and prosperity in the city. Mr. Lewis owns a car manufacturer company called Lumina Autos, and also the biggest Real estate company named Infinity Real Estate. Infinity Real Estate is the biggest in the entire province.

Jason smiled at his father, they both stood up and hugged themselves. “I have missed you, son,” Mr. Lewis whispered into his ears.

“I miss you too, Dad.”

Mr. Lewis finally let go and walked towards the staircase leading to his room.

Jason sat down there skimming through the file, his expression was filled with happiness and joy. He saw some companies named under the Lewis Corporation and figures attached to each company were big enough to change someone's life for good.

He can now take revenge on the people who treated him badly, but he thought of expanding his empire first and setting his mark as the new boss.

“We have a lot of work to do,” Jason said to Robert.

“I will be moving back to Winston Salem, but that will be when I'm done with business here.”

“Young master, the Lewis family owned several businesses in Winston Salem,” Robert said.

Hearing that Jason was happy, he shook his head slightly.

“I want you to prepare me with all the reports of the companies we own in Winston Salem. Jason ordered, his lips curved into a small smile.

Jason smiled at Robert, tapping on his shoulder as he walked past Robert and scurried to his Room.

The following morning he was up standing before 5 o'clock, at the Miller's mansion he was ordered to always get up by 4 o'clock.

It was his normal routine, even when he first arrived at the Miller's mansion when Mr. Eric Miller was still alive. He would wake up by 4 o'clock and he would go to the plantation farm to monitor what was happening before going to meet Mr. Eric Miller to assist him.

He got up and decided to come down. He strode down the stairs, he wanted to shake hands with some of the guards but he remembered he was the owner of the house and their new boss.

It was not pride or ego but he just wanted them to respect him and follow his order.

He went to the swimming pool and swam for a few minutes before going back to his room to get ready for work. he wore a tuxedo suit and a nice designer watch that was much more costly than that of James Patterson. his shoe was shining and worth millions of dollars.

In the dining room, his father was seated at the center of the dining seat and Jason was seated on his left side. while he watches the maid around them waiting for their orders.

“Are you ready to face your new staff today?” Mr. Lewis asked.

His eyes softened as he nodded “Yes, father.”

After the meal, he stood up and walked towards the house exits.

“Good morning, young master.” The guards at the door greeted him with their heads bowed to the ground and hands clasped to their backs.

He got into the limousine, and Robert was also there with him.

“Young master, Where do you want to start from? Do you wish to visit the business at Winston Salem, here are the reports you ordered for.” Robert said while handing him the file containing the reports.

“I don't want to visit Winston Salem now, let's go to Infinity Real Estate first.” He ordered.
