CHAPTER 6

On their way to the Infinity Real Estate company building, Jason told the chauffeur to drop him off, he had other plans and didn't want anyone to see him as the new boss. They should keep his identity hidden for now.

He wants to go in by himself without any bodyguards, Robert is against it but doesn't have a say.

“Go there and don't come out until I give you a sign or call you,” Jason ordered.

Jason was dropped by the roadside and he took a cab to the building. While Robert and the others drove to the building.

When The butler and his guards arrived at the company they parked a mile away from the building to avoid being seen by the staff.

Jason got out of the cab and walked towards the building, all eyes were gazing at him, they all wondered who he was. He entered the elevator and pressed the number where the office was situated.

The elevator moves to the third floor, that's where the vice president's office is situated.

He came out of the elevator, and he met his old-time friend Gladys Thomas. Gladys Thomas, she was looking beautiful and she wore a nice office shirt and applied a light makeover on her face. She works in the finance and accounting department.

Gladys and Jessica attended the same college, she was surprised to see him at the building well-dressed. She knows him to be a live-in son-in-law at the Miller's mansion.

“Wow…What are you doing here? It's been long.” she asked with a scornful gaze on her face.

“I'm here to see someone,” Jason replied.

“I have no idea you live in Greensboro, do you have someone who works here, or are you looking for a job? I can help you, I heard your wife divorced you.” Gladys said as she chuckled.

Jason fakes a smile on his lips, his voice dripping with sarcasm “Is that what you think?”

“Yes, You are a nobody. Do you think because you were her father's assistant you will become the new manager? Look at you now, How do you feel being divorced and thrown out of the house? Now I understand you want to apply as a security guard so you can sleep at the security post since you don't have a place to sleep. But you shouldn't have dressed like this.”

Jason's eyes turned red in anger but he held his calm, he stared at her identification card on her chest. and he smirks at himself.

She wonders why he was smirking at himself “Who didn't know you got married to Jessica because her father was rich and I even heard she will be getting married to James Patterson her boss. What a pity.” she said trying to get him angry.

Jason gritted his teeth. “If only she knew what she was doing, she would not utter any word, she doesn't know I own this building.” He uttered inwardly.

“You can say whatever you like, but I will advise you not to go further,” he said, with his voice barely above a whisper.

“I wonder who you are going to see, this building doesn't accept people like you and I'm surprised how you got all these things you are putting on,” she said as she looked at him from head to toe.

She continued to curse, Jason took her his new phone and sent a message to Robert and he never said any to her. She looked at him with disdain.

“I'm in the building, call the vice president to meet me at the elevator,” Jason commanded.

Robert replied immediately “Okay.”

People who were there laughed at the funny scene happening before them. The environment became silent and some staff brought out their phones to record what was happening in front of them.

“Uhmm!!! Gladys, I would like to see the vice president, can you please take me to her office.” Jason asked politely.

She looked at him in disgust before giving a light chuckle. “You want to see the vice president of Infinity Real Estate, who do you think you are? Do you think this is Winston Salem or it's owned by the Millers? I bet the manager will send you out immediately with your borrowed Suit.” she uttered blurted angrily.

Just then the vice president hurriedly walked towards the elevator as she got the message from Robert, Gladys was shocked to see Mrs. Hannah running fast and breathing heavily.

Mrs. Hannah Ross is in her early thirties, she is from a wealthy family but not as wealthy as the Lewis family. She is a woman whom the entire staff is scared of, and she hardly laughs with the staff. She is always serious when it comes to work.

“Hello sir, are you, Mr. Jason Lewis.” She asked, with a shaking voice.

“Yes, I told Robert to call you.”He retorted, nodding slowly.

“You are welcome, Young master.” She said and bowed her head.

Gladys mouth agape in extreme shock to hear Mrs. Hannah called him young master and the way she bowed her head in fear, the elevator opened, and Robert and two other guards came out, bowing at him. Before standing beside Jason.

The people were all surprised. They couldn't believe their eyes. They were silent chatters buzzing around the environment.

“Let's go to the office.” Mrs. Hannah said.

Gladys was speechless. She tries to look for a way to run to avoid any punishment.

“Where do you think you are going, Gladys Thomas?” Jason asked, giving her a weird look.

“Young master, do you know her?” Mrs. Hannah asked.

“Yes, she used to be my friend but not anymore, and I asked her to take me to your office and she was cursing me,” Jason uttered.

What!!! Mrs. Hannah yelled.

What!!!! Robert also yelled,

They both yelled simultaneously. Robert grabbed her wrist and twisted it. She yelled in pain.

Robert slapped her and she fell to the floor. He grabbed her hair, pulled her up, and gave her another slap. He slapped her about 6 times. Gladys was pleading for mercy. She cried out and her mouth was bleeding. The slap has torn her mouth and two of her teeth have fallen.

He shrugged helplessly “I warned you but you didn't listen,” Jason said as a smile curled on his lips.

Mrs. Hannah was furious and was ready to deal with her, she walked up to Gladys and slapped her.

Gladys joined her hands together pleading for Jason to forgive her and tell them to stop slapping her.

Jason winked at Robert and he let go of her, she fell flat on the ground. She moved towards Jason and held his shoe. “Please…. Please, I'm sorry, forgive me. I didn't know you were the young master.” She pleaded.

“That's why you need to treat people with respect,” Jason said.

Jason, who wants his identity not to be revealed, knows if he lets her go like that she will expose him. He walked up to Robert and whispered to him “Beat her till she doesn't remember anything again. So she wouldn't spoil my plans.”

Then he walked towards Mrs. Hannah, the vice president of Infinity Real Estate.

“I have something to discuss with you. Can we go to the office,” he said softly, turning his back to see Gladys pleading and calling his name for help.
