Chapter thirteen

“You sure, because I wouldn't want to make things boring.”

Jack Adam spoke.

“Nahhh! It is fine, let's do it like this then, Emilia you go first, tell him more about our family.”

Lord Lucas said, sipping on his glasses of wine.

“Uhmm… Okay. So as you may know Jack Adam, I am the granddaughter of Lord Lucas and Mrs Beatrice Lucas, I have a sarcastic little brother, who is sitting down right there.”

Emilia spoke as she pointed at Clark Williams, who should immediately have waved at her. She let out a chuckle and continued.

“Our parents, well our parents are dead, they died in an airplane crash as they were coming back from a business trip. Since then, my brother and I have been living with our grandparents.”

“God! I still miss them.”

“Yeah, me too, Clark.”

Emilia and Clark spoke, their voice carrying an emotional breakdown as they both gazed at the floor.

“My family drowned in a collapsed boat as we were on our way back from the carnival, I and my father's assistant were the only one that was rescued by the rescue team. Since then my life has never been the same. I got married and my wife divorced me, she said that I don't match his standards anymore.”

Jack Adam spoke,his voice trembling in sadness as he tried to hold back his tears.

“I will be back, let me check on Mrs Beatrice, she should be awake by now.”

Jack Adam spoke as he cleared his throat and took a big sipp off his glass of wine, dropping the glass on the table, he headed to the treatment room.

“I will be right back.”

Emilia Williams spoke, she immediately dropped her glass of wine and followed Jack Adam.

“Jack!.”

“Ohh, where are you going?.”

“I am coming with you, uhmm, okay, but you see.”

“Yeah, I know where you are actually going, you are going outside to take in the fresh air.”

Emilia interjected. Jack responded with a slight nodding.

“I also need to take in the fresh air too… so let's get going before the air will stop blowing.”

Emilia spoke as she led the way and Jack Adam followed.

“So… what actually… happened to you and your ex-wife?.”

Emilia Williams asked. Her voice carrying a weight of curiosity and worry.

“She is now on her way to top E rank, in the board of the wealth. She divorced me because she and her family see as a nobody, they treat me as shit.”

He let out a little chuckle and continued.

“ I should have listened to my father's assistant, women will use you and when they finally see they are bigger than you, they will toss you aside as if you were nothing from the very beginning.”

Jack Adam spoke, his voice trembling with sadness.

“No, Jack, not everyone is the same, this world is curl and a disappointment but believe me when I tell you that not every woman is the same as the rest.”

“And speaking of which your ex-wife didn't know what she lost, your kind of man is rare and at the same time your kind of man is every woman's dream man.”

Emilia Williams spoke, her tone, soft with an emotional trauma. She turned Jack Adam face to her's, she slowly moved her face closer to Jack Adam's, she slowly clipped her lips to Jack's lips, which resulted to a five seconds kiss.

“I am so sorry…”

“No, no it’s nothing…”

“I am so sorry, I shouldn't have done…”

Immediately Jack dragged her into his arms and clipped his lips to her's, which resulted to a twenty seconds kiss.

“Now, I am the one to say sorry, that was the only way to keep you calm.”

Jack Adam said with a soft smile, watching as Emilia Williams tucked a strand of hair behind her ear and blushed.

“So… I think we have had enough fresh air for now. And judging by the time, your Grandma should be awake by now, come on,let’s head back inside.”

Jack Adam said, extending his arm for Emilia to take. Emilia, still in a blushing phase, placed her hands on Jack Adam's hand and the both of them walked inside together.

“I told you she will be awake.”

Jack said as their gaze fell on Mrs Beatrice Lucas, who sat erect on the hospital bed.

“Grandma, you are finally awake.”

Emilia spoke, her voice trembling with joy.

“I am going to call Grandpa and Clark, Clark!! You big headed forehead!!.”

Emilia screamed out as she ran out from the room.

“Well, that means my work here is officially done, let me pack up my things then.”

Jack Adam muttered to himself, he then went straight to backpack and started packing up his medic stuff's.

“You are not Doctor Chong…Are you his apprentice?.”

Mrs Beatrice’s tone quivered with the curiosity as she studied Jack Adams.

“Grandma!!.”

Clark burst into the room, Lord Williams and Emilia hurrying in close behind.

“Honey! You finally awake, how are you feeling now?.”

“I am feeling fine,uhmm… darling, where is Doctor Chong and who is this fine young man?...”
