Chapter fourteen

“So, your name is Jack Adam and you are a Doctor, but not a licensed one.”

“Yes, Mrs Beatrice.”

Jack responded as he stood by the right side of the bed with a smile on his face.

“And you were the only one that was able to treat me?.”

"That's right, Grandma. Grandpa brought in every doctor he could find in the city. There was even one from India with a really terrible accent… What was his name again?.”

Clark rubbed his chin thoughtfully, eyes drifting toward the ceiling.

Jack Adams let out a soft chuckle.

"You mean Dr Alexander."

 He said with a grin.

“Yes, “Dr Alexander.”

Clark replied, voice dripping with sarcasm as he exaggerated the doctor’s accent in imitation.

Emilia shot him a glare.

"And how would you know his accent was terrible, you big-foreheaded goon? You haven't been to India in your life.”

“Hey hey hey sister, I went to school, Okay and I have friends From India.”

“Ohh, you have?.”

“Yes I do have friends from India.”

“Prove it.”

“How?.”

“Call one, right here, right now.”

Emilia Williams asked, her voice laced with disbelief as she folded her arms and gazed at his Brother.

“You see, I have friends from India that attended my school, I didn't actually have their numbers.”

“Ohh…really.”

“Yes, Emilia.”

“You are just a dumbass goon, Clark.”

“I am not joking.”

“Alright! Alright! You two should stop with all this fighting, you are making my head hurt.”

Mrs Beatrice spoke as she placed her hand to her forehead. Immediately, Jack touched her forehead, feeling her body temperature.

He immediately took out some herbs and gave them to her.

“What is that?.”

Mrs Beatrice asked, as she gazed curiously at the herbs leaf.

“I think these are drugs, right?.”

Emilia asked, her gaze fixed on Jack Adam.

You’re right, Emilia.”

Jack replied, his voice calm and reassuring.

 “They’re strong herbal medicines that will help ensure Mrs Beatrice makes a full recovery.”

“Okay and how many do I have to take this leaf,I mean herbal medicine? Do I have to take it for the rest of my life.”

Mrs Beatrice asked, her voice laced with sarcasm.

Jack Adams let out a little laugh.

“No, Mrs Beatrice, just four days and the remains should be stored in a cold and dry place for future use. Hope you understand?.”

“Yes, I do understand.”

“Alright then, I will be leaving, Lord Williams.”

“Ohh, yes, Adam jack, here, have this key.”

Lord Williams spoke as he handed a key to Jack Adam.

“What is the key for, Lord Williams?”

“You see, this is one of my Mansion keys.”

“But I didn't ask for a mansion, Lord Williams.”

“Yeah I know, the plants are actually your payment but the building is a token of gratitude from me and my family.”

“Ohh. Okay, thank you Lord Williams and I am so grateful for this.”

“Nahh, it is nothing, me and your family are in your debt.”

Lord Williams spoke, his voice laced with excitement 

“Thank you once more, Lord Williams.”

Jack Adam spoke as he gave a hand shake to Lord Williams.

“I will be leaving now, Lord Williams.”

“Ohh. Okay, do you want me to call one of my drivers to drop you off?.”

Lord Williams asked.

“Nahh, I am fine, Lord Williams.”

Jack Adam responded.

“Okay then, see you around, Jack Adam.”

Lord Williams spoke as he turned and walked back inside.

“Yeah, Lord Williams, see you around.”

Jack Adam responded as he turned and walked towards the gate.

“Jack! Jack! Jack Adam!.”

Emilia yelled out his name as she ran towards him. Jack turned and gazed at her.

“Hey.”

“Hey.”

“Uhm… Grandpa just told me that you are leaving… so… I came…to, uhmm.”

Emilia spoke, her voice trembling as she couldn't control her blush phase.

“You came to say goodbye?.”

Jack Adam asked, his face painted with a smile as he gazed at Emilia.

“Yes… I came to say goodbye and also to give you my number.”

Emilia immediately handed him a card with her cell phone number on it.

“Okay, so, uhmm, are you free tomorrow? You know I just want us to hang out.”

Emilia asked.

“Uhmm, I am not quite sure if I am going to be free tomorrow, but if I am going to be free I will definitely call you.”

Jack spoke. His lips still curved with a smile.

“Okay… so…uhmm, goodbye for now, Jack Adam.”

“Yeah, you too Emilia Williams.”

Jack Adam responded as he stood and watched Emilia Williams walk back inside the mansion.

Jack Adam turned and continued walking towards the main gate, he got out of the compound and immediately he waved down a cab.

“Good sir, where are you heading to?.”

The cab driver asked, looking at Jack Adam through the rear view.

“I will be stopping at the East big Mansion of Lord Williams.”

Jack responded as he leaned back on the car seat.

“Okay…”

The cab driver zoomed off to the destination.

Back at the Thomas mansion.

“Betty, darling, what is wrong?.”

Lady Nicole Thomas asked as she walked in on Betty, who was sitting on her bed with a pale face.

“Nothing, Grandma.”

She said,

“Don’t tell me you're still thinking of that brat, Jack Adam?.”

Lady Nicole Thomas asked, her voice carrying a weight of curiosity.

“No, grandma,he has moved on with his life, why should I think of him?.”

“So then, tell me, why is your face pale?.”

Lady Nicole asked as she walked and right next to Betty on the bed.

“Grandma, it is just… we don't have enough portfolio to get the contract that The Titanium Group is giving out and I am afraid we will lose to the Williams family again.”

Betty spoke, her tone trembling with sadness.

“Don't worry child, our company will get the contract this time.”

“How grandma?.”

Betty asked as quickly stood and stepped towards her window.

“Don't worry, Betty. With our finances and Justin Bradley's support, we will surely get the contra

ct.”

Lady Nicole spoke, her voice carrying the weight of assuring.

“Okay, grandma.”

Back at Lord Lucas Mansion.

“Daddy, what did you say actually happened to Kyle Rick and his henchmen.”

Rex Lacus asked, his voice laced with curiosity as he sat in a jacuzzi with a glass of wine in his hand.
