Adam Remembers Everything

The situation outside the administration building was getting messy. After the administration building was destroyed, the people who took refuge inside chose to leave for the mountains to the south. Even so, the Ordogs were still on the loose to hunt down the humans still around the portal. The black gorilla was still serving the few Jagers and soldiers who kept urging him to return to the portal.

"Are you coming with me?" Jonny asked his friend to come with him to the south.

"Sorry, but I'm staying here." Adam felt that there were many things to take care of in the city.

"Are you crazy?! Why do you want to stay here?" Jonny found his friend very strange.

"Patrick is out there. I have to find him." Adam's reasoning made no sense.

"Patrick? He's just a cat! You want to risk your life for him?" Jonny felt like his friend's brain was broken.

"Whatever you say, but I'll stay here." Adam remained in the administration building. He refused his friend's offer.

"Whatever you say!" Jonny finally left. He didn't care about his friend anymore.

In his solitude, Adam chose to return to his apartment. He had to sneak among the crowd and continue to hide from Ordog's pursuit. Arriving at the apartment, he immediately rushed to his room on the twelfth floor. The elevator in the building was completely off, so he had to climb the stairs to reach the twelfth floor.

"You want to run?" The voice rang out again.

"You have to fight it!" He kept provoking Adam to fight.

Unfortunately, he didn't care about what the voice said. Adam continued up the stairs until he came out of the emergency exit on the twelfth floor. It was very quiet. There was no one to be seen on that floor. There were several explosions from outside the building. The screams and shouts from outside the building seemed to torment him.

"I'm finally home." Adam immediately went to his bed. He completely ignored the chaos outside his apartment. His mind seemed to freeze and ignore the emergency outside.

He tried to close his eyes. Sleep was the only way to forget all the craziness. But the more he tried to ignore all the crazy things outside her apartment, the more chaotic he felt.

"Argh! Why!"

"Stop it! Don't talk anymore!"

"Why do you keep telling me to fight!"

The voice was bothering him more and more. He couldn't take it anymore. He slowly returned to the living room. But as he passed by the large mirror, he saw something.

"Wh-what are you?" Adam was surprised by the appearance of the glowing creature in his mirror.

"You can finally see me again." The creature spoke to him. Adam was shocked. He backed away slowly with a frightened face.

"Who are you?! Why are you there?!" Adam felt that the creature in the mirror was like his reflection. But why was its appearance so different? He felt he had gone completely mad! He saw his own reflection as another being.

Adam tried to move away from the mirror. He covered his ears and face with a pillow to calm himself down. But unfortunately, the voice was still audible to him.

"Look out!"

A huge explosion occurred on the other side of the apartment where he lived. But the shock also reached Adam's place. The man was getting panicked and didn't know what to do. The chaos outside and inside his mind both made his head hurt. And in the end, he gave up.

"You want me to fight all those Ordogs? Instead of dying in a horrible way, I choose to die in my own way." Adam went to the balcony. He looked at the battle going on around him. Everything looked chaotic.

He thought about jumping off the balcony. Adam tried to end it all. But just as he was about to jump, his mind suddenly opened up. An image of the past was clearly drawn in his mind. He saw himself coming back from the dead, the Paladin named Malachiel, the king of Ordog, the runes made by the Paladin, and finally Malachiel's voice ringing in his head. He even remembered his former life as a loser in the office. Everything seemed so clear.

"Do you still want to jump from here?" Malachiel asked her.

"You're finally back. I thought I was going to die before." Adam smiled.

For a moment, he felt calm after remembering everything. The fear in his heart was gone. He was truly grateful for still being given the chance to live.

"I always come back to you. Now, can we kill all those creatures?"

"Of course. I haven't played around with my powers for a long time."

"But remember, your Mana is not as much as when you and I joined forces. You must limit yourself. Use your powers sparingly."

Adam really missed their conversation. He was happy to hear Malachiel's voice again. His life seemed to be filled with hope again.

"Let's go!" Adam jumped off his balcony.

This time he wasn't really suicidal. He had prepared a plan to join the party. The man made a foothold of solid light to land on. When he reached the bottom, he immediately attacked the Ordogs around him. Adam created two light pistols. Each bullet fired at the Ordogs was reinforced with his Mana energy.

One by one the Ordogs in the form of birdmen were destroyed after being hit by light bullets. Adam continued to advance towards the portal. But when he was so close to the portal, the black gorilla seemed to be still busy fighting with several Jagers.

"Where are the elite Jagers? Why aren't they helping?" Adam felt like the city he lived in was being ignored.

"This isn't the capital. They must be protecting something more important." Malachiel offered some advice. He didn't want Adam to feel anxious.

"Then let's go help them!" Adam manipulated the light. He formed a sniper rifle. From his hiding place, he took aim at the gorilla.

By adding some Mana to his rifle, he made bullets that had the power to injure the Ordog.

"Do you still remember the total Mana needed to injure a level S Ordog?" Malachiel didn't expect his friend to be that smart.

"I was just betting. But from what I remember, this shot should be able to immobilize it!" Adam squeezed the trigger of his rifle.

A light bullet whizzed by and pierced the front of the Ordog's head. All the Jagers fighting with the creature looked surprised as the Ordog was thrown back.

"One more shot!" Adam wanted to shoot him again. He used his light to create winged armor. But the armor was not like the armor he used when he united with Malachiel. This was just ordinary armor reinforced with his Mana.

"Hey! Tie that stupid thing up!" Adam shouted to all the Jagers.

The Jagers who heard the voice immediately turned to him. They were surprised that there was another Jager who could manipulate light.

"So he shot that thing. Crazy bastard! He's so amazing! But that's good!" The senior Jager followed Adam's orders. He used shadow manipulation techniques to bind the gorilla.

The other Jagers also helped. They used their own strength to restrain the huge creature's movements.

"Don't underestimate humans!"

"We are the strongest beings in this universe!"

Adam fired his light bullet again. This time he aimed right at the gorilla's heart. The sound of his shot rang out in all directions. The bullet pierced the black gorilla's chest and made it vanish slowly.

"You! You savage!"

After saying the last word, the Ordog vanished into black smoke. But unfortunately the portal was still open. Adam only had a little mana left. It wouldn't be enough to damage the portal.

While Adam thought of a way to close the portal, the other Jagers seemed to be cheering after successfully killing the Ordog.

"Malachiel, do you know how to close the portal?" Adam was still thinking.

"A normal portal can probably be closed by shooting the inside. But to close a portal of this size, you have to go inside the portal and destroy the watchtower." Malachiel had found a solution. But Adam looked doubtful when his friend said that.

"Get inside the portal?" Adam felt confused.
