"Dad! you can't just make such a rash decision!" Charlotte stared at her father in shock.

This was the first time she had seen her father make such a rash decision. Who was her father? he was Blancho Krios; Atlas City's top richest entrepreneur and investor who was known for his strategic thinking mindset. Yet just a few minutes of meeting this unknown young man who only knew how to sprout nonsense, he was about to will him half of his whole fortune!

"You bastard! what have you done to my father huh?!" she blamed James with an angry expression.

"Charlotte, don't accuse our esteemed friend like that.." Mr. Krios corrected his daughter before flashing James an apologetic smile.

"I apologize for my daughter's rude behavior. She has eyes but cannot recognize mount tai "

"Ah. I won't dare receive such a bloated praise " James waved his hand with a small smile.

"However I am not healing you because of your wealth. From the first time I saw you, I could already tell that you are a good man judging from the good karmic threads surrounding you " James explained.

"You can even see that?!" Mr. Krios stared at James with a shocked expression.

"As expected of our esteemed friend!" he didn't miss the opportunity to flatter James.

"However I would have to request you provide me some ingredients to refine the medicine. Finding them would depend on whether you live or die " James informed him before requesting for a piece of paper.

Since the father and daughter pair had formerly been in a rush to go to the hospital, they didn't bring a single piece of paper along. As such Mr. Krios gave James his tablet to write out the ingredient.

"Three crown ginseng, three petals bonito flower, three vein sylil root ." Mr. Krios read out the seven ingredients that James listed out. Even with his wide scope of experience, he wasn't able to recognize any one of them.

"Those are not common herbs. However with your scope of influence you can find them at the herbal market. However if you think that is going to be difficult for you, I can just purchase them myself" James suggested.

"That would be great" Mr. Krios accepted

"Here is my bank card. You can use as much as you like"

James nodded as he accepted a slick black card from Mr. Krios. Seeing this, Charlotte scoffed.

"Hmpfh. What a hypocrite. Didn't you see you were not treating my father for the money?" not bothered to deal with James anymore, Charlotte cat walked back into the limousine.

"I.." Mr. Krios was about to apologize when James suddenly sprang forward, tapping his index fingers into various strategic parts of his body.

"How do you feel?" James smiled as he flexed his wrist a bit..

"Wow. The pain I was previously feeling is gone. Did you heal my ailment just like that?" Mr. Krios was amazed to discover the previous weaknesses in his body had suddenly dispersed.

"No. What you are suffering from is a Knull curse. It is deadly and I was only able to temporarily suppress it till I refine the antidote. However it is going to take a week time do so" James explained.

"Then I trust you. I will be waiting for you at Silver Garden in a week time. I would like to treat you to lunch after you have cured my ailment " Mr. Krios insisted sharply.

Silver Gate was a top luxury restaurant in Atlas City. Only the affluent could dine within it.

"Alright. Meanwhile before then try not to engage in stressful activities. Although I was able to suppress your curse, it is only temporary " after dropping these words of advice, James calmly took his leave.

"Dad! did you really trust that scammer. You gave him your black card! you have never given me your black card!" Charlotte whined with a pout as soon as her father joined her in the limo.

"You silly girl. You should do your best not to offend our esteemed friend. I have a feeling that he is our one shot in letting us soar to greatness.." Mr. Krios patted his daughter head, however his voice quivered with excitement.

"What do you mean? you are the richest man in Atlas City!'

"Sigh. Silly girl. With time you'd understand" Mr. Krios sighed, too lazy to explain any further.

"Hmpfh. I still don't trust him"

.

.

James strolled some more around the city before returning back home. By the time he did, it was already evening. After sharing a small dinner with his mother, James was led into one of the two rooms in the house. This was the room he used when he was a child.

The room was tidy and there was a small mattress. Sitting on the mattress, James fished out the black card that he received from Mr. Krios.

"Whatever. I will just focus on purchasing the listed herbs and give the card back to him " he finally made his decision.

"Hm. The spiritual qi in this place is very sparse. Cultivating here is useless so I should just go to bed. Tomorrow is going to be a big day " laying down on the mattress, James soon drifted asleep.

.

.

James left the house early the next day. When his mother asked, he told her that he was planning on taking a trip to the herbal market. However he didn't tell her why.

Since James didn't have a single dime on him, he was counting on walking all the way. Fortunately his mother managed to borrow an old scooter from one of their neighbors. Mounting the scooter, James soon rode off.

Old Wu Town was an ancient district just outside the borders of Atlas City where ancient relics was sold. As such, locals termed the place as the Ancient market. When James arrived, it was already at the peak of noon. If it was a regular person, riding a scooter for so long would've brought a serious strain, however James was a martial arts Cultivator as such the discomfort wasn't something major.

Staring at the huge but old entrance gate of Old Wu Town, James brows suddenly shot up as he softly cried.

"What a dense amount of spiritual qi!"

While James was busy sensing the spiritual qi in the atmosphere, an arrogant voice rang out from behind him.

"Scram out of the way ant!"

"Are you having a good time?" James was halfway through his glass of champagne when he felt Charlotte's presence behind him. "Do you want a honest answer or a load of sugar coating?" turning around, he flashed her a smile. "Do I even want to hear about it?" Charlotte chuckled. However her expression soon went serious. "You know if you want to leave now I won't be offended" "Are you kidding? coming here was mostly my idea.." completely downing down the content of his glass of champagne, James fluidly placed it atop the tray of a a female party waitress passing by.. Clang! Clang! All heads immediately turned towards a particular table. Besides the table was a middle aged man clad in a neat tux with silver brows. On his left grip was an empty glass of champagne and on his right grip was a small spoon he was using to pound on the champagne glass. Recognizing the identity of the middle aged man who appeared to be deliberately attracting attention to his table, the several Founder

Atlas City was a top tier city brimming with near endless opportunities due to being a beacon that often attracted the attention of top dogs globally. And over the past decade, the city enjoyed a favorable boost in the real estate and raw resource market to the point where every business mogul both far and wide wanted to have a slice of this particular 'cake' However although the city was a business hotspot, it lacked a sense of community due to the fact that seventy percent of its residents were investors and moguls with only a small fraction being the city's original indigenous settlers ; at least the select few who refused to be bought out of their homes by the foreign deep pockets. As such all year round the city only ever enjoyed three special events and one of them was the Founders Gala! Hall Of Nines.. For as long as one could remember, this had always been the venue of the Founders Gala ever since the concept was birthed and on a specific date in the calender, the premises

"Achou!" James suddenly balled his fist as he placed it across his lips to block out a sudden sneeze. "Are you feeling cold.. Boss?" standing besides him, Da Plutos blurted out curiously. "I'm fine.." while speaking, James casted his eyes towards the sun in the sky, whose radiance was starting to dim. "Are you sure you informed them?" he couldn't help but inquire. "Yes Boss.." Da Plutos expression went sullen when he noticed none of the gang leaders he reached out to were anywhere in sight."It's alright. I wanted to do things in a civilized manner.." "Are we going to attack them and put them in their place?" Da Plutos suddenly blurted out a suggestion. "What? of course not.." James shook his head in disagreement. "Although what I plan on doing requires their co-operation.. I never said it was of high necessity. Just you would be fine.." James explained completely unbothered that the gang leaders stood up his invitation. "However.." he added. "The promise I made to you still

The next day, James embarked on a little trip out of New Sensation Villa while riding a brand new blue colored scooter. It wasn't like he was trying to be low-key or anything but James had never actually handled the wheels of a vehicle.. scooters and bicycles were his go-to method of transportation. Half an hour later, James was no longer in the urbanized district of New Sensations villa but was now in the ghetto underprivileged area of Yellow Bottoms; the district where he lived for most of the childhood he could remember. "Hmm.." he mused as he observed the dirty sewage lining that corners of the street. It was unknown what was going on in his mind. "Master Stefflon?" a slightly panicked voice echoed from behind him. "Oh?" looking over his shoulders, James noticed a fidgeting figure standing besides a rusty old pick-up truck. Surprisingly the fidgety figure was actually the lead Thug hired by Sebastian to bully his mother and drive her out from Atlas City. However currently th

"You!!" upon hearing Diego's slanderous accusations, the scrawny staff immediately shot James a sharp glare. "Is Mr. Sebastian speaking the truth?! you better answer me truthfully!" James scoffed. From the current reaction he was getting from the other party, nothing he would say will hold any tangible weight. The other party was obviously trying to curry some favors with Diego's family so he was more or less guilty in the perspective of the scrawny staff member. "Mr. Ian. You shouldn't lose your cool. If this kitchen boy is as guilty then perhaps you need to resolve this in a more.. private location?" Diego shamelessly tried playing peacemaker. "I apologize" Mr. Ian gave James another sharp look as he made a grabbing motion towards his shoulders. However James easily stepped back, causing the other party to grab empty air. His actions infuriated Mr. Ian even more. "You cheeky bastard! what do you think you are doing?!" The charitable Mr. Sebastian is obviously trying to give
