Damon ran toward the direction of the forest.

As the system had said, he only had a little more than two hours before he would die. Damon didn't want to joke with that.

His life was important. If not for anything else, but for his family that died and for his revenge. He needed to stay alive and grow stronger.

He ran as fast as he could, but the forest was far. He calculated the distance and concluded he would only get there in an hour or so.

He had no such luxury.

If he was to get to the forest around an hour, he would only have an hour left to look for a beast and drink it blood. What would happen if he was unable to find a beast within an hour? Wouldn't he lose his life then?

Damon stopped on the way and panted hard.

He wasn't sweating, but his breathing had turned ragged. He was exhausted.

Running for a full thirty minutes without rest wasn't pleasant, and considering his failing health, he only grew more tired.

He rested for a few seconds and began running again.

"We... We are sorry, Marcus. I'm sure Athos didn't know this." Lith apologized awkwardly. Damon looked at the guys, and he felt amused when he realised they were feeling bad for him. Why? They weren't the ones who killed his earthly family, so why were they feeling bad?He really couldn't understand these humans' thoughts. "It's nothing." Damon casually waved and walked over to his bed to sit. Right beside him was Martin whose gaze remained on him. The room fell into an awkward silence for a while before Luke cleared his throat. "Marcus," He called. Damon glanced at him. "Tomorrow, we are planning to visit the forest for our last hunting before the inner sect competition. Do you want to come along?" Luke asked. Lith perked up. "That's right. We want to grow a bit stronger before then. As you already know, our strength is among the weakest in the outer Sect, and if we are not careful, we might have to remain in the outer Sect for five more years. By then, it will be over for

  • CHAPTER 35: THE STRANGE BEAST

Damon was genuinely confused. He stared at the beast before him and slowly shook his head. "I'm not a beast." He had no time to wonder why he could understand the beasts' language. He knew he was running out of time. The beast also stared, seemingly confused. "You are not a beast?" It suddenly asked. Damon's brows creased. "I don't have this much time at the moment. Can you step aside, or do you want to fight?" He wouldn't let the beast cause his death. The beast frowned. "What do you think I'm doing? I'm here to kill you, of course!" It had lost its temper. Not only was the beast deceiving it, but it was also challenging its authority. How dare it?The beast's blood boiled. Damon swung his ICE sword and prepared for a fight. However, the beast immediately collapsed on the ground and began whimpering. "It's them." It cried out. "You are one of them. That sword... You are their new master!" It rolled on the ground, wanting to escape. "What do you mean?" Damon was confused. H

  • CHAPTER 33: DEATH IN TWO HOURS

Fred couldn't believe what happened. His eyes widened, and he glared at Damon. "You!" He shouted, but he was unable to complete his word when he fainted. Damon lowered his gaze to the sword in his hand. His brows furrowed. "This sword..." He mumbled. "Why is it so strange? The sword in this world should be low-level with little ability. Why do I keep feeling like this sword is even more powerful than the swords in my world? This strange feeling..." He was confused. When he struck Fred earlier, he could feel the overwhelming power that emanated from the sword. His heart had raced, and a feeling that the sword could kill him if he were to overuse it flashed in his mind. The sword was too powerful, and Damon was too weak. Weak... the word caused a bitter taste in his heart, but it only made him even more curious about the sword. "ICE Sword." He called, and he felt the sword tremble in his hand. His heart jolted. The sword had a spirit!"This..." Damon felt bewildered. "Swords with

  • CHAPTER 32: HIS FIRST FIGHT

Fred couldn't believe his ears as he looked at Damon. His curled-up body straightened up, and he turned around, seemingly searching for who Damon was talking to. "Are you talking to me?" He asked, his face filled with confusion. Damon frowned. He couldn't help but wonder if something was wrong with Fred. "Martins, how much did you beat him? He doesn't seem to be alright," He whispered, looking at Martins, whose gaze was still on him. Martin's eyes twitched, and he smiled, "He's just too weak. A single punch was all it took for him to lose his mind," He replied, his voice filled with mockery. Fred gritted his teeth; no matter how low the boys' voices were, he was still able to hear them, and that annoyed him to the core. "Hey, Punk. Who do you think you are?!" He yelled. Martins could be proud, taking into consideration his strength, but you? You are only in the 6th stage of the body-strengthening realm, and you think you can talk in front of me? Aren't you being too cocky?" Fred m

  • CHAPTER 31: DAMON STRIKES

He hated people like Fred the most. The kind of people who prefer to rely on someone else to gain fame. Fred had an older brother who was an inner disciple. He was so talented that news about him in the inner sect would often reach the ears of the outer sect disciplines. He was a rising star in the inner sect, giving Fred the fame he never deserved. Fred was very angry when he heard what Lith said. It was as if Lith had poked his wounds, and he couldn't help but grit his teeth. "Lith, are you not scared of me just because Martins is with you? Do you believe he's going to save you forever?!" He asked harshly. His tone rose higher. Lith also clenched his fist and stepped forward, "What do I need to be scared of? Someone like you isn't worth my fear!" Lith declared angrily. Fred also moved forward. He might be scared of Martins but not Lith!"Do you dare fight with me? Let's fight without the interference of our friends!" He was provoking Lith. He knew he was stronger than Lith and ha
