Damon was in shock. Everything seemed like a dream to him. When he saw the first notification, he thought he was starting to gain his powers as an angel back, but what was this?
His face turned pale as he was in utter disbelief, but the scream of the boy woke him up, and he tried to act. He wasn't in his right mind, but one thing he knew was that people mustn't see him at that moment or he might get killed as a monster.
He turned to look at Tiana, and thankfully, she was asleep. To his surprise, she had a very big smile on her face even after what he did to her, and that made Damon wonder what kind of person she was, but more than that, he knew he had to get out of the room.
He turned around to look at the crying boy only to find out he had collapsed, and a loud grunt escaped from his mouth. He took a few steps forward toward the boy, and he saw that he wasn't responding. Having confirmed that, Damon escaped from the room and made his way home with red eyes... He was in a big mess.
"Marcus, the doctor said you are fine. It was just a shock from waking up after getting hit that way." He heard Wendy's voice coming from his front, but he was too lost to think about her.
He continued running, hoping to escape from everyone, but he was soon grabbed by a hand and was stopped in his tracks. He raised his head to see who it was only to find out that it was his earthly mother, Wendy. "Where are you running to? You shouldn't be running that way after what happened to you. Aren't you scared that the plaster on the back of your head and the one on your forehead will be removed?" She asked with great concern on her face.
Damon forced himself out of Wendy's grip and looked at her. "Was I injured?" He questioned with confusion on his face. He hadn't felt any pain in the back or front of his head since he woke up, so was he really injured?
Wendy laughed softly. "You are still in shock, my baby. The doctor said you would soon be alright."
Damon touched the back of his head, still in confusion, and right there, he could feel something attached to his hair, but what surprised him was that even though he was pressing on it so hard, he wasn't feeling any pain. It was like...
He quickly shook his head and touched the front of his head too, He pressed on it, expecting it to be painful, but it was the same. He wasn't feeling any pain.... it was as if the wounds were already healed!
His face turned pale again, and his eyes turned redder. He felt something rolling down his face, and when he touched it, he realized it was water. "I'm crying again? Damn this human body!" He cried out as he fell to the ground.
Once again, Damon was devastated, and he cursed Orilas for doing this to him.
"Why? Why are you crying, baby? Are you feeling any pain? Are you hungry again? What's wrong with you?" Wendy panicked as she moved closer to him, but Damon pushed him away, stood up, and ran away from the school premises.
The journey home was far, and he wouldn't have loved to run all through on a normal day, but it wasn't a normal day to him. It was as if it were another death for him, and he was bitterly mourning that as he made his way home.
Getting home, he saw his father outside the house, preparing for work as he was cleaning his shoes, but Damon didn't say a word of greeting before walking past him.
"Son, are you okay? Your mother said you were injured earlier. Do you feel better now?" Lucas, his earthly father, questioned worriedly.
Damon turned to look at him and shook his head. "I don't feel alright. I don't feel good at all." He replied. He wished he could ignore Lucas and walk away, but his humane part still felt for Lucas, making it difficult for him to disrespect him.
"Why? Are the wounds painful? Were you very injured?" Lucas panicked.
He stared at Lucas for a while before he turned around and walked into the house without replying to him. He entered his room and locked the door behind him as he didn't want anyone to disturb him. He knew Wendy and Lucas would want to talk to him, but he wasn't in the mood to talk to them as he had a lot on his mind.
He was still on this thought when he started hearing screams from outside, but he couldn't care less. "The kids must be back from school again." He mumbled to himself, ignoring the screams.
Soon, Little Damon felt his eyes closing, and before he knew it, he fell asleep. Waking up after a few hours, he realized they were still screaming outside, and he frowned. He stood up from his bed and walked toward the door. "These earthly people are so annoying. They wouldn't stop making noise no matter what!" He lamented as he opened the door and stepped out of the house, but the scene in front of him shocked him.
Damon stepped out to meet hundreds of dead bodies in front of his house, and all around him were countless dead bodies!

CHAPTER 37: ABSORPTION
Damon closed his eyes and slowly fell into the meditative stage. His consciousness blurred as he entered his own body, and right at the center of his belly, he could feel a drop of blood bubbling. The blood would grow and then decrease again. It was as if it was breathing. This shocked Damon. He had never seen anything of such before, and that beast, though strong, shouldn't be strong enough to create such a strange phenomenon in his body. Except that the beast was indeed strange. Damon couldn't understand why the blood wasn't dispersing in his body, but he also felt like the blood shouldn't hurt him either. Even if it did, he wouldn't let such a thing reside in his body. He steadied himself and began attacking the blood with the tiny energy of his body strengthening stage. He attacked continuously, but there was no effect. Damon didn't give up. One hour passed. Two hours passed. But the effect was still the same. Sweat was starting to form on his forehead. Damon opened h
CHAPTER 36: BEAST'S BLOOD
"We... We are sorry, Marcus. I'm sure Athos didn't know this." Lith apologized awkwardly. Damon looked at the guys, and he felt amused when he realised they were feeling bad for him. Why? They weren't the ones who killed his earthly family, so why were they feeling bad?He really couldn't understand these humans' thoughts. "It's nothing." Damon casually waved and walked over to his bed to sit. Right beside him was Martin whose gaze remained on him. The room fell into an awkward silence for a while before Luke cleared his throat. "Marcus," He called. Damon glanced at him. "Tomorrow, we are planning to visit the forest for our last hunting before the inner sect competition. Do you want to come along?" Luke asked. Lith perked up. "That's right. We want to grow a bit stronger before then. As you already know, our strength is among the weakest in the outer Sect, and if we are not careful, we might have to remain in the outer Sect for five more years. By then, it will be over for
CHAPTER 35: THE STRANGE BEAST
Damon was genuinely confused. He stared at the beast before him and slowly shook his head. "I'm not a beast." He had no time to wonder why he could understand the beasts' language. He knew he was running out of time. The beast also stared, seemingly confused. "You are not a beast?" It suddenly asked. Damon's brows creased. "I don't have this much time at the moment. Can you step aside, or do you want to fight?" He wouldn't let the beast cause his death. The beast frowned. "What do you think I'm doing? I'm here to kill you, of course!" It had lost its temper. Not only was the beast deceiving it, but it was also challenging its authority. How dare it?The beast's blood boiled. Damon swung his ICE sword and prepared for a fight. However, the beast immediately collapsed on the ground and began whimpering. "It's them." It cried out. "You are one of them. That sword... You are their new master!" It rolled on the ground, wanting to escape. "What do you mean?" Damon was confused. H
CHAPTER 34
Damon ran toward the direction of the forest. As the system had said, he only had a little more than two hours before he would die. Damon didn't want to joke with that. His life was important. If not for anything else, but for his family that died and for his revenge. He needed to stay alive and grow stronger. He ran as fast as he could, but the forest was far. He calculated the distance and concluded he would only get there in an hour or so. He had no such luxury. If he was to get to the forest around an hour, he would only have an hour left to look for a beast and drink it blood. What would happen if he was unable to find a beast within an hour? Wouldn't he lose his life then?Damon stopped on the way and panted hard. He wasn't sweating, but his breathing had turned ragged. He was exhausted. Running for a full thirty minutes without rest wasn't pleasant, and considering his failing health, he only grew more tired. He rested for a few seconds and began running again. Damon h
CHAPTER 33: DEATH IN TWO HOURS
Fred couldn't believe what happened. His eyes widened, and he glared at Damon. "You!" He shouted, but he was unable to complete his word when he fainted. Damon lowered his gaze to the sword in his hand. His brows furrowed. "This sword..." He mumbled. "Why is it so strange? The sword in this world should be low-level with little ability. Why do I keep feeling like this sword is even more powerful than the swords in my world? This strange feeling..." He was confused. When he struck Fred earlier, he could feel the overwhelming power that emanated from the sword. His heart had raced, and a feeling that the sword could kill him if he were to overuse it flashed in his mind. The sword was too powerful, and Damon was too weak. Weak... the word caused a bitter taste in his heart, but it only made him even more curious about the sword. "ICE Sword." He called, and he felt the sword tremble in his hand. His heart jolted. The sword had a spirit!"This..." Damon felt bewildered. "Swords with
CHAPTER 32: HIS FIRST FIGHT
Fred couldn't believe his ears as he looked at Damon. His curled-up body straightened up, and he turned around, seemingly searching for who Damon was talking to. "Are you talking to me?" He asked, his face filled with confusion. Damon frowned. He couldn't help but wonder if something was wrong with Fred. "Martins, how much did you beat him? He doesn't seem to be alright," He whispered, looking at Martins, whose gaze was still on him. Martin's eyes twitched, and he smiled, "He's just too weak. A single punch was all it took for him to lose his mind," He replied, his voice filled with mockery. Fred gritted his teeth; no matter how low the boys' voices were, he was still able to hear them, and that annoyed him to the core. "Hey, Punk. Who do you think you are?!" He yelled. Martins could be proud, taking into consideration his strength, but you? You are only in the 6th stage of the body-strengthening realm, and you think you can talk in front of me? Aren't you being too cocky?" Fred m
