Karen couldn't believe what her manager had relayed to her.

How could the Comsor Terrain cancel her contract?

"Mom!" Karen screamed out.

Carmela rushed down the stairs when she heard her daughter's voice.

"What's the problem, Karen?"

Karen stood up from the dining room and arranged her clothes.

She had to find out what was going on in that company.

"Mom, the cosmetics company canceled my contract,"

Karen said in a rush while she moved to the door.

"What?" Carmela was surprised. Her daughter's spa had brought in a lot of customers for the company, including drawing in a massive amount of wealth.

It was unreasonable for the company to terminate the contract.

"I don't know either, Mother. Tell James to meet me at the company. We have a lot of work on our hands." Karen said as she stepped out of the house.

She rushed into her Rolls-Royce and stepped on her accelerator.

As Karen rushed to the Comsor Terrain company, she didn't know that this was only the beginning of her problems.

Andrew sat in a well-furnished office enveloped by a sense of grandeur and sophistication.

Just as Andrew relished in the comfort of his new office, a series of knocks sounded from the door.

"Come in," Andrew said, loud enough for the person at the other end to hear.

The door opened with a slight sound, and a lady walked in, wearing a suit that accentuated her figure.

"We have completed the order, Sir. Karen's Spa is no longer one of us." The lady's sultry voice floated into Andrew's ears.

Andrew nodded his head, swiveling in his chair.

He turned to look outside the massive window behind his rich mahogany desk.

"Come, Shelby. Who owns the land that Miss Karen built her spa on?"

Shelby held her breath as she spoke.

This was the first time she was dealing with someone who hadn't run their eyes through her body, and it made her nervous.

"It belongs to us, Sir." Shelby noticed the shakiness in her voice and hoped that the man in her voice wouldn't see it, too.

How can a man enter the company's building and buy the entire company? It was outrageous.

She never thought it would happen, but the man who did it was sitting right before her.

"I thought you said the spa company is no longer a part of us? Why is the building on our land?"

Andrew said. He turned to face Shelby with raised brows.

"She paid for the land, Sir."

Shelby stuttered with her head down. She couldn't afford to stare directly at this man's eyes.

She could lose her job.

Andrew took a file from his desk and stood up.

He walked a bit around the desk.

Who would have thought he would be the owner of a place like this?

With a single sentence, he had bought the entire Comsor Terrain cosmetics company.

Andrew looked at the girl before him and realized she was shivering.

Was she afraid of him?

He coughed lightly, and a slight smile appeared on his face.

"Look at me, Shelby."

He said to the girl, holding out the file.

Shelby looked up at him, seeing what he held in his hand, and she took hold of it.

"Inside this file contains evidence that Karen's spa has not fully paid for the land allocated to them."

Andrew had a hard time as he spoke.

Of course, he knew this before, but he needed concrete evidence, and surprisingly, he found this little folder in his new office.

Shelby swallowed before she spoke,

"Yes, Sir. The company overlooked it because she was bringing in a lot of profits with her customers and ideas."

Andrew shook his head, chuckling slightly.

"True. Now, the company doesn't need her. I'm sure you know what to do, Shelby. Take down that building. Anyone that has a problem with it should come to me." Andrew said.

Shelby nodded vigorously, "Yes. Sir,"

She was about to leave when Andrew stopped her.

"Hold on, Shelby. I don't want anybody to hear this news. Let my identity remain unknown. I'm entrusting the confidentiality of this information to you." Andrew said in a low voice.

Shelby couldn't help but notice the underlying threatening tone in her boss' voice.

"Okay, Sir, leave that to me," Shelby said and rushed out of the room.

"This is just the beginning." Andrew had a broad smile as he imagined the look on Karen's face.

The following person on his agenda was James Winter.

Meanwhile, Karen furiously parked her car at the Comsor Terrain's entrance before rushing into the building with a red face.

At that moment, Shelby stepped out of the elevator, holding a tablet, and spotted the woman.

Andrew's voice immediately ran out in her ears.

'Don't let that woman near this building.'

It was the sentence he had said after he bought the company and made the order to terminate Karen's spa contract.

She couldn't help but shiver when she thought of what he would do if she failed.

Another order echoed in her ears, 'Take down that building.' It was Andrew telling her to make sure Karen's spa was entirely out of the company's circle.

"Hello. I want to speak to the CEO." Karen's voice echoed through the building, but nobody noticed her.

Karen became furious. She was one of the top priorities of this company, so what was happening?

Why were they not giving her the respect she deserved?

Shelby glanced at the camera, and she knew Andrew would be watching the scene.

She could use this to get on his good side.

"Hello, Ma'am. Please leave this place before I can the security guards." Shelby said as she rushed to Karen's side.

"Who are you?" Karen said as she eyed Shelby down.

Shelby scowled in disgust. This woman was rude.

"I am the secretary of the CEO. The company has nullified your contract and returned your installment payments for the contracted land." Shelby held her professional tone as she spoke.

She wasn't going to stoop to this witch's level.

Andrew watched this scene in the comfort of his office with a popcorn box in his hand.

He thought of Karen's face when she realized that the poor husband she cheated on was now the owner of this company.

However, it wasn't his plan to expose himself yet. He would wait till he had taken them all down one by one.

"You can't do that. This company needs me, not a skinny whore like you."

Karen spat in anger. She couldn't understand what she had done wrong.

Shelby's face paled when she heard the words from Karen's mouth, and without knowing what came over her, she gave her a heavy slap.

Karen stumbled backward with shock evident on her face.

"You… " She opened her mouth to speak.

Shelby raised her hand and was about to give her another hit when a voice boomed from the speaker.

"Shelby. Enough."

Everyone's attention turned to the speakers in the ceiling as they heard the voice.

They all knew it was the new boss, but the only people who knew his identity were the top executives and his secretary, Shelby.

Karen looked up also.

She couldn't help but wonder why that voice sounded familiar, but she couldn't guess the owner because he didn't say much.

However, she knew it was the Big Boss.

"Please, let me speak to him. This is all a misunderstanding." Karen's voice was brought down to a whisper when she spoke, but Shelby had none of it.

She pressed a few buttons on her tablets, ignoring Karen's pleas.

A few minutes later, a dozen security guards appeared.

Shelby looked in Karen's direction with a glare.

"The Boss wants you to take down your building from the land given to you in the next week. Your installment payments have been transferred to your account. Goodbye, Ms. Karen."

Shelby said and walked away, leaving the security guards to their duty.

Karen felt her whole world collapsing, and she didn't know what to do.

She gazed at the speakers, and a thought came to her.

If she could find this new Boss, maybe she would be able to get her contract back.

The guards escorted Karen.

She entered her car and broke down in tears as she wondered where she had gone wrong.

Andrew relaxed fully on the plush sofa in his office with a smile.

The look on Karen's face was priceless.

He couldn't wait to see that same defeated look on the faces of every member of the Winters family.

He suddenly heard a ding in his head, causing him to sit straight.

Andrew watched as a panel appeared in his head.

[Congratulations. The host has completed phase one of Quest.]

[One billion dollars spent.]

[A targeted enemy in distress.]

[Preparing host's rewards.]

Andrew didn't think the day could get any better, but he was wrong.

  • EXHAUSTED

"What do you mean by that?" He growled after he was updated about the state of his health bars. There was nothing he got in response, and that made his blood run cold. He couldn't imagine being defeated by the giant thing in front of him. He got up again, feeling refreshed and strong again before moving back to a safe distance to think about what to do next.It was very clear from the foregoing that this was going to be a very hard mission, and if he wanted to win it he had to use his brain, rather than his brawny side. He had to plan, but it was frustrating because his best two options had just been thwarted and used against him before he knew what was happening. If he tried to keep on fighting without thinking, he knew he would surely be defeated in the blink of any eye. But it was worrisome because there was nothing he could do now, every other option he had in his mind was gone. Gritting his teeth against the cluelessness he was going through, he continued to think about it, ho

  • KNOCKED OUT

From the way that the ground shook, he knew that the enemy was coming and needed to be very prepared for whatever and whoever the bops of the level three was. With the mystery sword in his hand, he started to walk around, navigating the virtual landscape of level 3. However, he was faced with a shocking realisation that the mission wasn't just direct, it involved a lot of side but quick quests that he needed to perform before getting there. There were always one or two bugs he had to kill before moving forward. These bugs came in the form of some things- like miniature lizard men. He also had to keep an eye for poisonous plants that seemed to be newly added to the virtual landscape. They lay strewn along the path, and were probably waiting to strike whoever crossed it. The system made sure to explain it to Andre who also made sure to watch out for them and avoid coming in contact with it. According to the system, the poisonous plants didn't totally kill anyone it came in contact w

  • IMPROMPTU

Some days later, Andrew was going about his usual routine when he suddenly began to feel a strange sensation. It kept pulling at him, and it felt as if an invisible force was tugging at him from all directions. He couldn't understand what was going on and it got more confusing because his system hadn't told him anything. He was so terrified as the feeling continued to intensify. It got so bad that he began to feel dizzy. He staggered to the couch in the living room and collapsed on it before facepalming in confusion. "What is going on?" He asked, groaning in pain. He looked around him but his vision was suddenly starting to feel dizzy. His system didn't respond, which further heightened his confusion, distress and fear. Was there a malfunction? He thought, before slumping right on the floor. He could feel his senses shutting down, and before he could react, the familiar portal appeared in front of him. It glowed, and he was half-expecting something or someone to come out from it.

Andrew devised a plan as soon as he got out of the alleyway that evening. He wasn't going to wait around before doing what he needed to do. He wanted to deal with James, with those that he had bullied in the past. He couldn't imagine the sight of seeing him being dealt with by the same people he considered weak and vulnerable. The search for potential allies began the next morning, and the first person he reached out to was a young man with tousled blonde hair. He was hunched over a collection of broken Gadgets as he worked. His name was Gilbert, and he was a very talented mechanic whose skills had been overshadowed by James and his oppressive regime. He approached Gilbert with a friendly smile and sat right beside him. Gilbert didn't say anything when he saw Amdrew, he just looked up and continued to work on his stuff. He feared he was going to be bullied yet again, and it would be best if he just kept to himself and didn't say anything that would incite the bullying. "Hey there,

  • A NEW OPPORTUNITY

The next day came with a lot of surprises, a staggering lot. The next day, Andrew was sitting in the crowded auditorium after an announcement was made online. The auditorium was bedecked with noise until the school chancellor took the stage, and his voice boomed over the chatter of the students. You could hear a pin drop now. "Attention, everyone!" He said, and smiled as he paused as if allowing the announcement to sink in before he continued again. Andrew looked around, wondering if James was somewhere around. He doubted it. "It's that time of the year again- the season for choosing our school president." He said, and the whole.crowd erupted in cheers. Andrew felt a thrill of excitement run through him when he heard that. This was his chance to make a name for himself, to prove that he was more than just a lowly street fighter. But quickly and sadly, he reminded himself that he was here for a mission and that was to defeat James, not fight for a position in a school. He was inte

  • THE FIRST PHASE

The duo rounded a corner before they began walking down into an alley. Behind them were James's men. Some of them had been wounded during the fight but the injuries sustained were not bad.The alley had a faint glow of streetlights which cast eerie shadows on the graffiti-covered walls. Andrew knew that James was about to pair him up with somebody big, but he didn't care as a matter of fact. He had every resource to deal with whoever it was. But there wasn't a doubt that he was filled with anticipation. And if there was anything he was happy for, it was the fact that James didn't waste much of his time before introducing himself and offering him a chance to join his men. They didn't didn't stop walking until they reached a cul-de-sac at the end of the alley. James turned and pushed something in the wall while Andrew watched. After some seconds, the small parchment on the door opened and two curious eyes stuck out to observe who had paid them a visit. The parchment closed almost imme
