“I think I drank too much last night,” Alejandro groaned loudly as he slowly opened his eyes.

He realized he wasn't in Miguel's apartment but in a luxurious room with fine decorations, including a chandelier and satin sheets.

He checked his phone and saw numerous missed calls from Miguel. But before he could return the call, he noticed a credit notification— a billion dollars! He couldn't believe his eyes.

"Holy fuck!" Alejandro exclaimed in disbelief. He tried to piece together the memories from last night.

He vividly remembered Sophia asking for a divorce. Then he remembered the lottery ticket with the number 369 and the billion-dollar prize written on the back.

He had won the lottery!

He excitedly rushed out of the hotel room and headed straight to find Miguel.

Alejandro didn't walk to Miguel's, he ran. Everyone who saw him coming dodged to avoid getting knocked down by his speed.

In a few minutes, he reached Miguel's place and barged in.

“Miguel! Miguel, where are you?” He shouted, and locked the door behind him.

Miguel who was just out of the bathroom came out dripping wet with a towel around his waist.

“Dude, what the fuck? Do you know how worried I was?” Miguel said and gave him a friendly punch to his chest, causing Alejandro to wince.

“Jeez! You reek! Shower now!” Miguel scolded him when he perceived alcohol from his friend.

“I know, I know! But first, listen to me. You won't believe what just happened!” Alejandro shook him, excitement bubbling within him.

“What happened? Sophia apologized? Or you got a new job because these are the only things I want to hear right now.” Miguel guessed, knowing how unlikely that was.

“To hell with her! I just won a billion dollars!” Alejandro exclaimed, unable to contain his excitement any second.

“Alejandro, I think you're still drunk,” Miguel said.

“You don't believe me? Oh, come on, man!” Alejandro said disappointedly.

“If you said $10k, I would have believed you, but a billion dollars Alejandro, did you defraud the government or what?” Miguel asked.

“No! Not at all, but check this out.” Alejandro showed Miguel the credit alert on his phone, leaving his friend stunned.

“Holy Moly, a billion dollars!” Miguel almost fainted in disbelief. “But how? Where? When?” Miguel bombarded him with questions.

“A lucky game, at the Casino, last night. I'm an overnight billionaire,” Alejandro shouted and jumped on his feet.

“Wait… wait… wait… Is this even legal, Ale?” Miguel asked him.

“I paid for my ticket, so yes it is. Bro, our lives are about to change drastically. We can get out of here, go somewhere quiet, and be happy!”

“What about Sophia?” Miguel asked him.

But then Alejandro remembered everything she did to him, and his anger returned. He pulled out the divorce papers and gave them to Miguel while he searched for a pen.

“She asked for a divorce? Is she crazy?” Miguel couldn't believe it, seeing the signed papers.

“If she's crazy, then I'm crazier. I'm a single man now,” Alejandro declared, signing the papers. “Now, I'm going to pay back the cards everyone dealt me, starting with Charlotte.” He said and smirked his lips.

***

A few days passed, and Alejandro gathered enough information.

He and Miguel had moved into a bigger house and now lived in luxury. Everything felt surreal to Miguel, but it was real.

Alejandro got details about Charlotte's schedule. She had a meeting with her investors, and that was the perfect time for Alejandro's surprise.

He contacted her shareholders and bought all their shares, making him the majority owner of her company. He decided to break the news to her when she returned from her meeting.

Before she arrived, Alejandro had already started making changes.

When she stormed in, she was furious that her company changed.

“What's happening?” She asked, but her workers ignored her and followed on Alejandro's orders instead.

“What the hell? Who let you in?” Charlotte's face was red with anger when she saw Alejandro comfortably seated at her chair. “Liam, are you mad? Drive this wretched man out of here.”

“You're not supposed to speak to the new boss like that,” her receptionist informed her. He turned to Alejandro, and asked, “Sir, would you like some iced coffee?”

“Yes, I would love some, Liam, extra sugar please,” Alejandro said with a smirk, reveling in his new power.

“That's not possible! How did you even? Where did you get the money?” Charlotte's tone turned desperate.

“I'm the new billionaire in town. I can do anything I want. Liam, please tell security to remove her. She's too loud for me.”

“Yes, sir! Right away!” Liam responded, while Miguel laughed and enjoyed his tea as he watched the show.

“Liam!!” Charlotte roared at her receptionist before focusing her anger on Alejandro. “This is fraud, and I will have you investigated and thrown into jail!”

But before she could threaten him further, security arrived and escorted her out, as she resisted.

Miguel chuckled, mischief gleaming in his eyes. “So, who's next? The more businesses we acquire, the better. I think we should build a Casino.”

“I agree, but there's still someone I need to see,” Alejandro said, referring to his old bosses. He wanted to return the favor they had done him.

He stood up and walked out of his new office.

Outside, Alejandro soon caught the attention of the media. Reporters waited outside his company eager to hear from him.

“Sir! Mr. García! What's the source of your wealth? Why are you buying all these businesses? What's your next step? Can we get coverage?” They bombarded him with questions as he stepped into Rolls Royce. His bodyguards kept the reporters at bay.

“Please, sir, answer us!” They pleaded until he paused, taking a reporter's mic to speak. “I'm the new billionaire in town. I'll give you coverage on Friday night at 8 pm,” he said before returning the mic and continuing on his way.

The news spread quickly, and everyone heard about Alejandro García, the feared billionaire who was acquiring businesses ruthlessly. No business felt safe.

Even the Brown household was shocked by the traffic Alejandro caused in the city.

“Mom, what's happening?” Sophia asked, holding her mom as she pointed to the TV in shock. Sophia looked and saw Alejandro on the screen.

‘I'm the new billionaire in town. I'll give you coverage on Friday night at 8 pm,’ his words filled her with fear.

“Alejandro? A billionaire? How did this happen?” There were so many questions, and no one had the answers.

The hospital’s glass facade gleamed under the afternoon sun, giving it an air of sterility and wealth. Inside, the lobby was spacious, the scent of antiseptic hanging in the air as nurses moved briskly from one station to another. The soft hum of conversations between patients, doctors, and visitors created a low, almost soothing background noise.Kate, dressed elegantly in a beige coat over a fitted dress, approached the reception desk with her usual poised demeanor. The receptionist, a young woman in a crisp uniform, looked up with a professional smile.“Good afternoon. How may I help you?”“I’m here to see Williams Jesse,” Kate said smoothly. The receptionist glanced at her

Javier had suggested hiring the best hackers in the world to break into Alejandro’s casino since the fire attack wasn’t successful, and Valentina’s mind had skipped at the thought. She didn’t know Alejandro personally, but from the little she’d gathered, he seemed like a young, innocent man who luckily won her husband’s scam lottery.Yet here was Diego, her husband, plotting to destroy him piece by piece. Chapter 33The night was cloaked in a veil of restless clouds, the soft hum of distant crickets the only sound outside Diego’s sprawling mansion. Inside, the warm glow of chandeliers illuminated a room thick with tension. The mahogany table in Diego’s private study bore marks of age and power, much like the man who sat at its head. The thick smell of cigars mingled with the faint tang of spilled whiskey, curling through the opulent study like a specter of power. A half-empty wine bottle stood forgotten on the table, next to a silver tray dusted with the remnants of cocaine. The grand chandelier above cast flickering light, illuminating the tension etched into every corner of the room.Diego lounged in his leather armchair, a cigarette smoldering between his fingers. His dark eyes, sharp as a hawk’s, bore into the men seated before him. On the table, a glass of Malbec swirled lazily in his other hand, the deep red liquid glinting in the light. He didn’t need to speak; the silence was s

Pushing open the door, he found Theo reviewing the updated security plans.“Got a minute?” Miguel asked, shutting the door behind him.“Sure,” Theo said, leaning back in his chair. “What’s up?”Miguel crossed his arms, pacing slightly. “It’s about Sophia and that so-called gym instructor of hers, Oscar.”Theo raised an eyebrow. “What about them?”“I just saw them in the gym. The way they were interacting—too close, too familiar. He told her he missed her after the ‘kidnapping.’ It’s odd, Theo. He’s supposed to be her trainer, not her confidant.”Theo frowned. “You think there’s something going on between them?”Miguel stopped pacing, his expression serious. “I don’t just think it—I know it. And we need to keep a closer eye on them. There’s something about Oscar that doesn’t add up. He’s disrespectful to staff, acts entitled, and now he’s cozying up to Sophia.”Theo nodded thoughtfully. “Do you want me to escalate this?
