Every chamber light in the vault leaned toward the floor.

The cracks spreading through the seven damaged seals did not stop at glass. They crossed the metal bases, entered the black floor, and joined beneath Jace's knees. A line opened through the center aisle wide enough to show pale machinery moving far below.

"Useful timing," Jace said.

Seraphina looked toward the far wall. A gold exit had opened behind Theodore and Elijah, narrow and unsteady, leading into Sunchain space.

Elijah saw it too.

Theodore tried to stand. His legs failed beneath him, and Elijah pulled one arm over his shoulders.

Jace could have followed. Static Step was still available through Health overdraw. The Collector Mask, the Memory Shard, and Theodore's exposed identity fragment gave Breach Sight enough of a trail to pursue them through the closing route.

The System offered the choice before he finished considering it.

"The vault has four hundred twelve people in it."

"Theodore may be the only route into Sunchain."

"Then he knows where to find me."

Theodore's head lifted. Black-gold light still traced his mouth.

"You are releasing an enemy."

"I am declining a chase."

"There is a difference."

"Tonight has been full of those."

Elijah moved toward the exit, then stopped beside Caleb's body. He looked down at the man who had held the protocol together until it killed him.

Caleb's gold report still floated above one hand.

The preservation lines were failing from the center outward. Each chamber drew from a buried support structure that no longer recognized the room above it. The vault had been installed inside something older, the way a tenant might run extension cords through a building and later forget the walls had their own wiring.

"The floor also said it was solid."

Noah placed his palm against Chamber 117. The voluntary party line between him and Jace sharpened.

"I can feel a pull below us," he said. "It feels like the chamber did before you broke the ownership tag, except larger."

"Can you follow it?"

"I can try."

"No commands."

"I remember."

Noah closed his eyes. The Free Claim line moved through the chamber, crossed the floor, and descended into the pale machinery below. Jace felt every place it snagged. The pain arrived through his ribs in small, exact bites.

"Jace, the gold support over the plaza just disappeared."

The Safe Zone dashboard opened beside the vault timer.
