Lior had spent the whole night at the mines, using his Divine Eye skill to gather and combine many rare items to form unique weapons, and other gadgets.
It was the era of the industrial revolution; Planes and steam engine trains were used for long distances. Hatchback vehicles and other models which had just been invented at the time, drove around in the cities, only for the rich. Short guns were bought only by the rich. Circuses, fight arenas, and movie theaters filled the towns. The military used advanced weapons, which the society couldn't afford, but there was still so much technology left to discover. Fixed phones were used for communication, but only the rich could afford mobile phones. However, the poor preferred sending letters through the post office. Lior knew this was the best time to bring out something new that could generate vast wealth for him, but he needed materials, especially those sold at auctions, which were very expensive. Good thing he had the Eye to see which one he really needed and which was truly valuable, as fake things now filled auction halls, sold by unscrupulous sellers chasing easy money. When he was done at the mines, he headed straight to the trading center to trade the new items he had recycled. The storekeeper was shocked at how valuable everything Lior brought in was. "How did you get your hands on such technology? Are you sure you didn't break into a high-tech facility or something?" the buyer asked. Lior let out a soft chuckle. "Where it's from remains with me. But take this from me; it's safe to trade, no strings attached." The store keeper's eyes glittered with greed. "Oh boy, when I take this to the tech auction, they are gonna be thrilled. They'll request for more. They'll question who made such technology." Then he turned to Lior."Can you make more of this?" he asked. Lior smiled, "Sure, anytime you need more, just let me know." The store keeper nodded, "I'll Find You, I promise." With that Lior left the store, his wallet full of dollar bills. That was the highest sale he had ever made. With the money in hand, he headed straight to the clothes shop, got himself a headband, some fresh clothes for him and Seraph. Then the most important thing to him was to dye his hair green as he was ready to return to the city under a disguise. Next, he bought some food items, planning to make his foster mother a nice lunch Later. With all that done, he headed home with a wide grin all the way. —- After a long walk, Lior strolled into the village, ready to surprise Seraph, however, he was immediately struck by the somber mood. A group of villagers, torches in hand, walked along with worry etched on their faces. Lior noticed their eyes seemed heavy with fatigue, like they haven't slept the night before. They looked up as he approached. "Excuse us, stranger," one of them said, as he stepped forward. Lior's eyebrows shot up. "Stranger?" he thought In confusion. In Ravenshire, everyone knew each other. And these people were his neighbors, so why were they suddenly calling him a stranger? The man held up a poster, and Lior's eyes landed on the crude drawing. "Please, do you happen to have come across this man? He got lost after heading out to the mines yesterday evening. He was expected to return by 10 PM, but he didn't. This is unusual; he's never behaved like this before. His mother's worried sick, she's even threatened to kill herself if we don't find him. We've been up all night searching. Have you seen him anywhere?" Lior's gaze shifted to the drawing and he stared at it for a moment. It wasn't a perfect drawing, but the tattoo on the forehead was unmistakable. He understood what was going on. It was a search party for him. He smiled. "It's me, guys," he said, his voice casual. The villagers exchanged confused glances. "Huh? What do you mean it's you?" the man asked. "It's me, Lior." The group stared, then erupted into a mix of excitement and skepticism. "Lior? What happened to you? Your hair was white before, and you've... grown so handsome," a lady said, stepping forward to touch Lior's jaw. The man with the poster cut her off. "If you're really Lior, prove it. Remove that headband. The real Lior has a mark on his head, like the one in the poster." Lior smiled, raised his hand, and swept off the headband. The villagers gasped, then broke into cheers. "It really is him!" One of them whispered, "Was he that handsome before?" "How did he grow so handsome overnight?" Another joked, "I think I'll dye my hair too – maybe I'll become handsome and the ladies will fall for me!" Lior stood there, a quiet smile on his face. One thought dominated his mind: "Good thing my new looks serve as a real disguise. That way, I'll go into the Azurefang city gates , and no one will recognize me – not even my closest ones." Meanwhile the villagers swarmed him, peppering him with questions. "What happened to you?" "Where were you?" "Why didn't you come home?" However, as the crowd made noise, a man rushed in and said, "Everyone, hurry! Ma'am Seraph's at it again, she's about to jump off the roof, and she has destroyed all the ladders. They're trying to make new ladders, but I'm afraid that by the time they're done, she would have jumped off the roof." “Mom?!” When Lior heard this, he dropped everything and ran with superhuman speed towards home. This stunned everybody. "Huh? Was he always that fast?" they asked, trying to make sense of everything. "I always knew that boy was special," the old lady who touched Lior's jaw earlier commented, while blushing. "Knock it off, Mrs. D, he is too young for you. He should be your great-grandson.”Latest Chapter
THE WORLD NEEDS YOU
“Leave!” Delilah’s voice thundered across the chamber, sharp and commanding. The maids, who had been forced onto Prince Frederick’s bed against their will, flinched at the sound. Their faces were pale, their eyes wide with fear. They scrambled off the bed, skirts tangled, and rushed toward the door. They did not look back as they fled, the heavy door slamming shut behind them. The room was suddenly quiet, save for the distant sounds of the palace courtyard outside. The golden rays of the afternoon sun fell across Frederick’s disheveled figure, highlighting the arrogance in his grin. Frederick turned, his hair untidy. “Come, Mother,” he said with careless pride. “Let’s celebrate.” Delilah closed her eyes briefly, exhaling as though steadying herself. When she opened them, her gaze was cold and sharp. “Put on your clothes first,” she ordered. “This appearance is not fit for a prince.” Frederick sighed, rolling his eyes, but obeyed. He put on his garments, fastening them la
THE Beginning Of Katrina's Pain
The banquet hall glowed with candlelight, but the atmosphere was heavy. King Aldric sat stiffly at the head of the table, his jaw tight, his eyes narrowed. Across from him lounged King Varon Deymar, ruler of the neighboring kingdom. Varon was everything Aldric despised: loud, careless, indulgent. He laughed too easily, drank too much, and let his eyes linger far too long on the palace maids who moved nervously around the table. “Ah, such fine wine, Aldric!” Varon exclaimed, raising his goblet high. “And such fine company. Your maids are prettier than the stars. Come, girl, pour me another.” He winked at a trembling servant, who flushed and hurried to refill his cup. Aldric clenched his teeth. “He treats my hall like a tavern,” he thought bitterly. Yet he said nothing, for though he hated Varon, he feared him. Varon’s armies were vast, his influence wide. Delilah, seated gracefully beside Aldric, smiled faintly at Varon’s antics. Her eyes sparkled with amusement as she watched
EXILED PRINCE REVEALED
The crowd was shocked.“Did someone actually outdo Prince Frederick?”“I can't wait to see who that is.” Mr. Leo raised his hand again, quieting the murmurs. “First place… with a shocking 60,000 points… Lior Raz!”The arena erupted. Students stood up, shouting, disbelief written across every face. “This is a first in history.”“Impossible! There must be some kind of mistake.”Even Lior himself was shocked. He didn't know that defeating the AA level beast would give him a 30 thousand point advantage, added to the previous thirty he had.As Lior stepped forward, Ruth’s eyes widened, and then she smiled—a bright, knowing smile. “I finally found him!” she whispered to herself.Lior walked slowly up to the winner’s stand. Cameras swarmed, their lenses zooming in, projecting his face onto the giant screen for everyone to see.Prince Frederick couldn’t contain himself. “He cheated! This isn’t possible!” he shouted, his voice cracking.Miss Shawn frowned.” Are you saying we couldn't superv
SECOND PLACE? WHO'S FIRST?
Mr. Leo and Miss Severine stood frozen, their gazes locked onto the large, glowing holographic screen that hovered above the academy arena. The air around them was thick with tension. On the screen, the leaderboard pulsed with light, and at the very top, Prince Frederick’s name blazed in gold letters, his point total sitting at a commanding 25,000. With each passing second, his lead over the others seemed to stretch wider and wider.Around them, the other teachers clustered in small groups, their voices low but filled with open admiration. “Impressive control of mana output,” one instructor whispered. “His technique is flawless for his age,” another replied, nodding slowly. But then, without warning, the steady rhythm of the rankings was broken. A new name, previously buried deep in the middle of the list, began to climb at an unnatural speed—Lior Raz.At first, it was barely noticeable. Lior’s name flickered past tenth place, then surged past seventh, then fifth, as if defyin
THE SUDDEN B LEVEL BEAST
The fog was thick, curling around the dead trees like ghostly fingers. Growls echoed in the distance as the shadow beasts prowled. Students scattered in groups, weapons drawn, their watches glowing faintly as they prepared for battle. Lior stood calmly, his eyes scanning the mist. “So this is the C-level area,” he murmured. Arkanos’s voice rang in his mind, amused. “Easy prey. Let’s warm up.” A shadow beast lunged from the fog—its claws sharp, its eyes glowing red. Lior didn’t even flinch. He sidestepped, his movements fluid, and with one swift strike, the beast collapsed. His watch beeped. +100 points. Lior grinned. “Too easy.” He cracked his knuckles, his confidence rising. Another beast charged, snarling. Lior spun, his blade slicing through its neck. +100 points. “Ha! This is nothing,” he said, his grin widening. Back at the academy, Mr. Leo and another teacher, Miss Severine, stood in front of the giant screens that displayed the rankings. Numbers flickered rapi
OPENING DAY OF THE ACADEMY
It was finally the first day of school resumption. The grand courtyard of the Royal Academy was buzzing with voices, banners of every kingdom swaying in the breeze. The air was thick with ambition, rivalry, and pride. This was because students of this school came from top noble families from different continents, countries and kingdoms. There were also secret races of beings which weren't humans. It wasn't the only school in the city, but it was the most prestigious. Lior stepped forward, his eyes scanning the crowd. He felt alive—this was the place where strength would be tested, where ranks would be earned. He used his Divine eyes skill on some few people and noticed that they had very high combat abilities. “Ah, at last a place to face worthy opponents.” I am getting fired up, Arkanos commented, and lior could only imagine that if he could see Arkanos's face, there'll be a wide grin. But before Lior could take in the atmosphere fully, a sharp, mocking voice cut through
