Chapter 3: Joining the military

[Mission 1: Join the military;

  Starlink city is under demonic beast's siege and needed reinforcement. Join the reinforcement team and save the city residents from the beasts.

Reward: +1 increase in rank 

Punishment for failure: -1 lottery point

Sub-mission 1: kill 10 purple ranked demonic beasts.

Reward: +2 increase in level, purple ranked armor set (random)

Punishment for failure: -2 decrease in level 

Sub-mission 2: successfully taunt an Orange ranked demonic beast.

Reward: Orange ranked mental cultivation technique, Orange ranked skill book.

Punishment for failure: 50% decrease in strength for one week.

Charlie looked at the system mission wide-eyed. He doesn't even know whether to laugh or to cry; because the mission seems like a joke and a death sentence at the same time.

Why should he jump ranks and fight a demon beast that can kill him with a swipe of it's hand? Why?

While lamenting about his Ill fate, the nurse entered the room with another man in white coat. After checking his pulse, he then prescribed medicines for him and instructed him to get it from the pharmacy on his way home.

Charlie was discharged from the hospital with a bill of over 10,000 divine coins to settle. He paid 10,127 divine coins out of the remaining 11,500 he got from the military. He still used another 5,000 divine coins to pay for the prescribed drug he got from the pharmacy.

Immediately he got home from the hospital a text message entered his phone, but he didn't bother to check. His phone ringed immediately after.

"Report to the military barracks immediately!" He didn't even get to speak before a deep voice commanded him on phone.

Upon getting to the baracks, Charlie saw thousands of soldiers neatly dressed in their green uniform, lined up in rows with their heads raised up and their faces free of any expression.

Charlie walked past this group of human robots as he made his way to the gathering point for the newly recruited logistics personnel.

Upon getting to the place, Charlie saw a crowd of people sitted on the bare floor, waiting for someone. He also joined them.

The people here are the lowest of the lowest of talented people. They all have talents ranging from E to G.

They are all people who have not awakened any special ability.

If the system hadn't intervened, charlie would've been the lowest of these group of trashes.

"Hello mortals! Congratulate yourselves for being selected as one of the logistics teams of our great nation.

As you all know, your job is to transport resources for the soldiers of our great nation. You're to follow them throughout any mission you're assigned to; be it dungeon exploration, sending rations to the battlefield, following reinforcement team, weapon and food transportation.

For humanity's sake!!" A burly scar-faced man came out to address the more than 3,000 people.

"We must survive at all cost!!" The crowd chanted the military slogan used by all military forces around the globe.

"Form a straight line to receive the newbie pack, as promised in our recruitment post!" The burly man yelled again.

Not long after, the pack was given to the people on the line. The newbie pack contained a a military uniform, and a martial arts cultivation technique.

Merely looking at the technique in their hands, some of the people couldn't contain their emotions and started crying on the spot.

In this current era of martial arts. People would do anything to get their hands on a martial arts cultivation technique, as that is the only way for them to gain status and power in this current world where justice is given to the man with the strongest fist.
