Chapter 6: Pascal Wild

When the black ape saw that Pascal had reached his attacking range. It jumped at him, preparing to tear him into pieces with its sharp claws 

Pascal quickly casted a spell and the surrounding began to change. The landscape began to change randomly, one landscape per second, causing the black ape to feel dizzy.

"Attack me now if you dare." The black ape still confused about the changing landscape heard a voice that sounded like thousands of people speaking together, behind him.

"Hahaha!" He looked back to see Pascal wild laughing loudly behind him. 

He launched at him once again, but before he could come near him, Pascal had started to multiply; one became two, two became four, until there were a thousand copies of Pascal Wild laughing loudly to the sky.

"Even if you split yourself to a million copies, you're still a weakling without your illusion abilities. Now stay still and let me kill you!" The black ape roared before charging at the clones of Pascal Wild.

He charged at the clones, tearing them apart with his claws. 5 minutes later, his hands were already stained with blood and shredded pieces of internal organs.

The black ape looked at his hands in disbelief. The black fur had already changed to red due to his massacre.

"They're merely energy clones, but why did they have blood? Am I still in his illusions?" The black ape wondered aloud.

Then he stood rooted to one place and gathered his thoughts. He took out the battle horn from his purse and blew hard on it. That was when his eyes opened and he was brought back to reality.

The black ape looked round the battlefield and his eyes opened wide in disbelief. The ground was littered with mutilated carcasses of the demonic beasts, almost 80% of the beasts were laying on the floor, Dead. The other 20% were looking at him warily while slowly retreating from him as if he was a mad man.

Before long, the Beast army retreated with their tails between their legs, not because of the enemies but because of him.

"Ah!!!!!" The black ape roared to the sky in agony. He wanted to attack Pascal once again, but chose not to after seeing the massacre he had caused. He also retreated into the forest with its army.

Pascal and the rest of the human army didn't chase after them, but watch them as they retreated.

"It's all that stinky human's fault! He caused all of this!!! He's even responsible for this war…" the black ape roared as he laid all kinds of allegations against Charlie.

Though if not for Charlie's words that broke his mental defense, he should be able to resist Pascal's illusion abilities.

Charlie, the root cause of this problem was somewhere in the deep forest fighting for his life.

Charlie stood gallantly before the flame feathered chicken waiting for it to reach his side. As the chicken was 40 meters away from him, charlie attacked…

"Only a brainless chicken would run after me!! Perk up your wings and show me how chickenns run!" Charlie shouted at the top of his lungs, before picking race.

"Run after me you flightless bird!" The death seeker's boots further boosted his speed as he ran for his life.

Hearing this, the chicken's eyes became redder as it increased it's speed to run after Charlie like a mad chicken.

They were still running around the forest when a system notification rang in Charlie's mind.

Seeing that he had accumulated the required amount of points to buy the earth manipulation ability, charlie was happy. But he was also confused, he had been farming the chicken since when he reached the inner forest but didn't get up to that amount of points. 

Where the hell did this points come from?

"Open system store!" Charlie commanded the system.

He quickly purchase the earth manipulation ability before continuing with his race.

Charlie suddenly stopped running, to look at his body that was now glowing green all over.

[Ding! Earth manipulation ability successfully installed.]

After checking the notification, Charlie noticed that his spiritual energy had increased by a rank with the addition of the Ability. He's now a bonafide Blue ranked Awakened.

"Time for revenge." Charlie said, facing the flame feathered chicken with a determined gaze.

He approached the flame feathered chicken, dragging the unsheathed sword on the ground as he walked.

Charlie was planning to learn the earth escape technique before, but now that his rank has increased, he was now confident that he'll be able to kill the chicken.

The chicken seeing Charlie approach him with unconcealed killing intent was shocked. He felt something rise from the deepest part of his soul; it was fear.

The chicken paused for a second, before charging to meet him.

Charlie's hands vibrated slightly as he defended the chicken's iron talons with the seeker's sword. He held the sword with both hand, and to a step back to balance himself.

The chicken flew back, then charged at him again aiming for his Head. Charlie dodged the blow and parried the talon with his sword.

Though he had no idea how to use the sword, but he still counterattacked by swinging the sword wildly at the chicken, tearing of some of its feathers in the process.

The chicken found a flaw in his attack pattern, it exploited the flaw to the maximum by landind a series of kicks at Charlie.

The chicken didn't let him land before attacking once again. With a wave of its wing, a few iron-like feathers were thrown at Charlie who had just landed from his flight.

Charlie quickly rolled to the side and watched in horror as the feathers stabbed the ground.

"Fine, two can play this game." Charlie brandished his sword as he gets ready for the next wave of attack.

Charlie and the chicken fought for the next 30 minutes until all layers of feathers on the chicken's body were either plucked by Charlie's sword, or used by the chicken as hidden weapons.

Charlie's body was full of claw marks and wounds, but he was still happy by the sight of the chicken that was now stack naked.

"Hahaha!! All you need to do next is to wash your neck and let me kill you in one swift move," Charlie said, provoking the chicken that was now looking at him with fearful eyes. 

The madness had long disappeared from its eyes, now replaced by a deep fear that stemmed from its soul. 

Charlie had used it to whet his combat abilities.

The chicken looked at Charlie one last time before turning around to escape.

"Earth bind! Hold it for me!" Charlie shouted, and the earth beneath the chicken's legs became soft all of a sudden, then its legs starts to sink into the ground.

Two seconds later, the ground had already hardened while the chicken's legs were half deep inside the ground.

The chicken looked at Charlie in horror as he slowly approached.

Charlie had long noticed that upon all the strength possessed by the chicken, its neck is it's weakness. After getting closer to the scared chicken with one swift move from Charlie, the chicken was beheaded.

Its head rolled a few times in the air before landing at his feet.
