In a place engulfed in flames, mixed with pools of blood covering the ground, screams echoed endlessly as cries of death overlapped one another without pause.

Ferocious beasts charged forward, biting and tearing into people’s flesh, causing blood to splatter everywhere.

A young man stood at the center of it all, witnessing the brutality unfold before his eyes. He was Wang Chen. He stood there in a daze, not moving an inch from his spot.

Then something rolled to a stop at his feet. He lowered his head and saw a head without a body, its eyes wide open and bleeding, with blood pouring heavily from its nose, ears, and mouth.

Wang Chen finally reacted. He staggered backward, his breathing turning ragged. It was a girl he knew all too well.

"Xiao Yue!"

Wang Chen shouted—but suddenly, everything he saw vanished, replaced by the sight of his own hands reaching upward as if trying to grasp something.

Wang Chen gasped for air. He blinked several times before his mind finally calmed down. But the moment he remembered what had happened last, he jolted upright and looked around frantically.

"Calm down, Wang Chen. Breathe slowly and try to relax."

Wang Chen suddenly heard a familiar voice. He turned his head and saw a middle-aged man dressed in white.

"You…"

"Ling Zhizun, your master," Ling Zhizun said with a gentle smile.

Wang Chen fell silent. Countless thoughts churned violently inside his mind.

"I can see you now. Does that mean I’m already dead?" Wang Chen recalled being pierced by an energy spear and falling into the abyss.

And Qiao Yue had been taken away by that despicable woman. He still didn’t know why she had targeted Qiao Yue, going so far as to destroy Wang Tu City for her sake.

Wang Chen clenched his fists tightly. He refused to accept this. He refused to die like this.

"You’re obviously not dead yet. Feel your body carefully. Look at your hands—they’re bleeding because you’re clenching your fists too tightly."

His master’s words stunned Wang Chen. He looked at his hands and saw blood seeping from them. The pain began to register clearly. Then he looked at his chest—his clothes were torn where the spear had pierced him, yet his chest itself was completely unharmed.

If he wasn’t dead, then what had happened? He had fallen into the abyss with a spear through his chest—how could he still be alive?

"What… happened?"

"You experienced two strokes of fortune. First, the natural Rune within your body released the energy it had accumulated when you were on the brink of death, sustaining your life for as long as possible. Second, this place happens to be my inheritance ground, so I was able to use my power to assist in healing you."

That was also the reason Ling Zhizun had guided Wang Chen toward this abyss from the very beginning—because at the bottom of it lay his inheritance ground. This was where the remnants of his soul resided, allowing him to help Wang Chen.

It was also fortunate that when Wang Chen’s body fell, it was utterly shattered—his bones broken—but the Rune’s power kept him alive for as long as it could. During that time, Ling Zhizun did everything in his power to heal his disciple.

Previously, Ling Zhizun had remained silent because that woman was extremely dangerous. If she had sensed his presence, she might have discovered this place and destroyed everything.

Yes—another stroke of Wang Chen’s luck was that the woman hadn’t reduced his body to a pool of blood. If she had done so, Wang Chen would have had no chance of survival at all.

"Master, do you know why that woman targeted Xiao Yue? Xiao Yue is just an ordinary girl who can’t cultivate. Why would she want someone like her?" Wang Chen asked anxiously, still deeply worried about Qiao Yue.

"Hm… actually, the moment that girl touched the black ring, I immediately realized it. She possesses a special physique known as the Purple Sword Dimension Body."

"Purple Sword Dimension Body?" Wang Chen frowned.

"Long ago, there was a Goddess who created the Purple Sword Dimension and scattered its blessing across the universe after her death. Only women can receive this blessing. Those who do gain access to the Purple Sword Dimension, allowing them to draw sword power from that dimension for their own use. However, this physique usually doesn’t awaken immediately. It requires a special circumstance—when their emotions reach an extreme peak, the power of their body will awaken. That woman likely orchestrated everything to force Qiao Yue’s body to awaken."

"Then… what does she plan to do to Xiao Yue?" Wang Chen asked urgently.

Ling Zhizun let out a sigh before answering. "Earlier, I sensed that the woman also possesses the Purple Sword Dimension Body. Most likely, she intends to train Qiao Yue until she reaches a certain level of strength, then kill her and devour the power of her physique."

Rather than looking devastated, Wang Chen’s expression relaxed.

"Then Xiao Yue must still be alive! There’s still hope—I will definitely save her!" Wang Chen declared with unwavering determination.

He stood up and spoke firmly, his eyes burning with resolve. "Master, I want to become a powerful cultivator! Train me so I can reach the level of strength you once had at your peak!"

Wang Chen clasped his hands and bowed slightly.

"Hahaha! Now that is my disciple. You truly possess an exceptional mindset. Very well—I will ensure that you become the strongest cultivator in the entire universe!"

I obtained the Poison Rune after consuming the Eternal Poison Flower, and later awakened the Ice Rune after accidentally teleporting into the Ice Dimension." Forming a series of hand seals, Wang Chen opened the spherical artifact. "Now I want to find out whether my body can also form a Light Rune by using this Star Light."Wang Chen had no intention of refining the Star Light as his own. He merely wanted to use it to test the limits of his body. The moment he broke the seal, he immedi

"Is the Qilin... dead?" Yun Xuhua stood frozen as she looked at the fifty-meter-tall Qilin, which no longer showed any signs of movement. She had personally experienced just how powerful the Qilin was, yet now the beast had stopped breathing, dead without a single visible wound on its body.Yun Xuhua had no idea what had actually happened when Wang Chen stabbed the giant syringe into the Qilin's buttocks, as he had never explained what it was beforehand."Ugh... that must have hurt." Chu Yan rubbed his own butt, as if he could feel the pain of being pierced by that enormous syringe."Want to try it yourself to find out?""No, thank you." Chu Yan immediately rejected Wang Chen's offer.Wang Chen landed on top of the Qilin's corpse, removed the artifacts attached to its body, and stored them away."This giant beast's body is completely intact. If we sell it, it would definitely fetch an enormous price," Chu Yan estimated."I'm not selling it." Wang Chen slowly shook his head. "I want to

Their coordination was flawless, gradually driving the beast into a furious rage. Many of their attacks landed on the Fire Qilin, yet not a single strike was able to draw blood."Its scales are too hard! Even my flames aren't hot enough to melt them!" Chu Yan shouted as she dodged another attack."It's resistant to fire, so fighting it with flames was never going to be easy," Wang Chen replied. "But we only need one opening—just a single scratch on its scales!""Got it!" Chu Yan answered. She immediately drew the Fire Qilin's attention, dodging several of its attacks while occasionally launching counterattacks of her own.The moment an opportunity appeared, Wang Chen condensed a hundred-meter-long wind blade and slashed toward the Fire Qilin. The attack struck its target, but instead of cutting through the beast, it merely pushed it backward, as though the blade had lost all of its sharpness.Wang Chen did not stop. Qilin were extremely rare magical beasts, possessing the potential to grow to Rank Eight, or even Rank Nine. This Fire Qilin lived inside an enormous abyss so deep that its bottom could not be seen, close to the underground sea of molten lava. It was the most comfortable place for a Fire Qilin, especially because it housed a precious treasure—the Star Light. Although the Star Light was not a flame, the light energy it emitted could be absorbed by the Fire Qilin and refined into its own strength. Moreover, the Star Light continuously absorbed the natural energy of heaven and earth, making the energy within the abyss incredibly abundant. Within that quiet and pleasantly warm environment, the Fire Qilin spent most of its time sleeping, its body naturally absorbing the surrounding energy with every breath. However, ever since a human had disturbed its slumber, the Fire Qilin had become extremely vigilant and far more aggressive. The moment it sensed two auras approaching, it imme

It did not take her long to realize that she had been teleported elsewhere, and the one who had brought her away was the same man she had encountered earlier."That was a close one."Wang Chen let out a sigh of relief.Yin Xuhua stared at Wang Chen's face for a moment with a dazed expression, needing some time to process what had just happened."Put me down!""Oh, right. Sorry."Wang Chen gently set Yin Xuhua down, but the injuries inflicted by the Fire Qilin were still affecting her. She lost her balance, but Wang Chen quickly caught her before she could fall and helped her sit down against the trunk of a tree."Thank you."Yin Xuhua looked away, feeling slightly embarrassed."It's nothing."Wang Chen looked at her for a moment."Besides, you were far too reckless challenging a seventh-rank demonic beast.""I just wanted to test my strength.
