Chapter 16

The doorbell rang, Hazel got up from her seat to check who was at the door. “Mom!” She exclaimed as she opened the door. “Why are you here?”

“Do I need a reason to visit my daughter?” Rachel shoved her off the road and made the way into the kitchen with the bags of groceries she got.

“I have come to feed you with the best food, look at how lean you are!” Rachel commented as her daughter walked into the kitchen. “Where is that man you married?”

“Mom, his name is Lorenzo,” Hazel palmed her face.

Lorenzo walked into the kitchen as soon as he heard his mother-in-law’s voice.

“Good thing you are here.” Rcahel rinsed her hands. “Take out the beef from the paper bag and wash them properly. Make a nice meal for my daughter.”

She pulled Hazel out of the kitchen with her, “A princess does not belong to the kitchen.” she let go of her hand and sat on the sofa.

“Micheal is coming to pick you up.” Rachel brought out a box from her bag.

“What for?” Hazel questioned her mother.
