The chapel did not sleep.

Its golden dome glowed against the night, thin and stubborn as a candle inside a storm. Within it, the remaining Divine Order soldiers stood pale and sweating while the Silent Wind scraped against the walls.

Marshal Roderick slept on the floor of the inn, his memory edited clean.

But another priest remained awake.

Father Callen, the chapel keeper of Lakefall, knelt before the altar with blood on his sleeve and terror in his mouth. He had lived in the town thirty years.

  • Chapter234:The Same Poor Fools

The next three gods arrived together.Elias almost thanked them for saving time. They came armed for conspiracy, not war: cloaks drawn, authorities muted, signals wrapped in false prayers. One governed iron. One governed oathbreakers. One governed old roads between divine kingdoms. None of them expected the god of strength to be anything other than irritated by delay. His puppet greeted them with the bronze giant's voice."Gluttony changed the route."The road god cursed. "Again?"That small complaint told Elias more than interrogation would have. Gluttony had been moving them in patterns for weeks. Perhaps months. Gods who believed they were betraying one faction for another had actually been arranged into storage.Food does not know the pantry's map.The thought was not his.Causality's voice brushed his mind. Or perhaps memory had learned to imitate her.Elias stepped out of shadow. The three gods froze. The oathbreaker understood first. Cowards often had excellent survival instinc

  • Chapter233:Order's Ascension

Reality announced Order's ascension before the bodies of the traitors cooled. He called it a reward for loyalty, a strengthening of the faction, a necessary consolidation before the Firstborn crisis shattered heaven. The gods applauded because applause was safer than thought.Elias stood beside Reality's throne in white robes and accepted every bow with immaculate restraint.Inside, he was mapping escape routes. An ascension ceremony in the Godrealm was not pageantry. It was exposure. Authorities opened. Godheads resonated. Divine witnesses marked the change into the architecture of law. If Elias failed to control one pulse, half of heaven would see that Order God had become a carefully worn corpse-mask over something much older and far less polite.Reality did not know that.Reality only saw an ally ready to rise."You will become high god under my protection," he said privately. "Truth may question many things, but he will not move against an ascension I sponsor without cause."Elia

  • Chapter232:Take Your Job Seriously

Reality's servants dragged the surviving traitors into separate prisons made of compressed fact. That phrase was not poetic. Elias inspected the cells through Order's divine senses and found walls built from statements Reality had made true by force: You are here. You cannot leave. Your power does not alter this. Your allies cannot hear you.Efficient. Brutal. Almost elegant.Elias approved professionally and disliked himself for it.Reality stood beside him in the empty hall after the others left. The broken weapons had been swept away. The mirror-space had closed. The transparent dagger still floated between them, untouched by Order's hands."You did not ask why I spared you the test," Reality said."I assumed you had a reason.""I did."Elias waited.Reality looked older now. Without an audience, his sternness became weight rather than armor. "If the Firstborn had infiltrated my faction, I would have sensed disorder in the structure of loyalty. I felt corruption, betrayal, cowardic

  • Chapter231:Reality's Judgment

Reality summoned his faction on the fourth day.He did it without trumpet or ceremony. One moment the gods of his camp were scattered across their kingdoms, trying to understand the Firstborn crisis. The next, a command passed through reality itself: Gather.Elias received it through Order God's body.He arrived in the Great Hall of Reality wearing the calm face of an old friend and the private suspicion of a man entering a room where the floor might be a blade.Reality sat above them, broad-shouldered and cold-eyed, with exhaustion hidden so well that only someone ancient enough to recognize divine fatigue would see it. The battle at the boundary, the disappearance of lower gods, the collapse of Fallen God's seat, the pressure from Truth - all of it had gathered in the corners of his face."One of us may already be compromised," Reality said. The hall tightened.Elemental Mother was not present, but half the room looked in her direction anyway. The other half looked at one another an

  • Chapter230:You Are the Firstborn

The gods came to Fate because fear needed somewhere polite to kneel. They filled the outer court of the Fate Kingdom in projections and borrowed bodies, hiding panic behind robes of starlight, crowns of law, and voices trained to sound immortal. Lower gods trembled openly. Middle gods pretended they were only cautious. No high god came in true form. The powerful had always understood that dignity was easier to preserve from a distance. On the high throne, beneath veils of silver prophecy, Elias wore Fate Goddess's divine shell and looked down at them with her light on his face.Shadowmoon stood below the dais, blade lowered, expression solemn enough to shame an empire. She did not know the full absurdity of the moment. To her, her goddess had finally stirred after thousands of years of silence. To Elias, the entire hall looked like a buffet that had written its own reservation.[Idle Ascension System]Audience request received.Guests: frightened gods.Purpose: ask the Firstborn where

  • Chapter229:The Sea King Takes the Throne

Time stopped in the kingdom of ice.Not everywhere. Elias was not foolish enough to challenge the Time God-King's full domain in a place full of witnesses. He froze only the smallest useful moment: the breath between recognition and alarm, the heartbeat in which a goddess knew she had made a fatal mistake but had not yet decided how to survive it.The Ice and Snow Goddess hung before him, eyes wide, divine blessing still unfinished on her lips. The Sea Godhead hovered between them.Elias took it.The godhead entered the Sea King avatar like a storm returning to its drowned crown. Tidehall's old vows answered. The Forbidden Sea roared across distant memory. Avielle's bloodline flared somewhere far below, and every soldier who had once followed the Sea King felt a pressure in the heart as if an ancient banner had snapped open in the wind. The goddess fought the frozen second.Impressive.Elias respected impressive opponents. He also did not let respect become stupidity."I am not here t
