The instant my palm pressed against the leather cover, a faint pulse shuddered beneath my fingertips.

It was subtle at first—a rhythmic, quiet throbbing, like a distant heartbeat. Then came another. And another.

The dark, weathered cover, which had looked inert moments ago, ignited with a deep violet luminescence. Filaments of purple light crept through the silver etchings, illuminating ancient symbols hidden beneath layers of petrified dust.

Instinctively, I tried to pull back.

My hand wouldn't move. My palm felt fused to the leather, anchored by an invisible pressure pinning my arm in place.

“What the—”

Before I could pull again, the glow spiked into a blinding flare.

The entire chamber shuddered. A low, resonant hum reverberated through the stone floor, rising in pitch until the air itself vibrated.

With a heavy clack, the tome burst open.

Pages flipped at terrifying speed without a breath of wind. Glyphs written in a thousand lost languages detached from the parchment, rising into the air as burning threads of light. They swept around me in a wide, accelerating spiral—a miniature galaxy revolving around a central point.

The stone walls of the apex chamber vanished behind the brilliance.

Outside, the quiet settlement surrounding the Tower erupted into sudden panic.

A massive pillar of violet energy blasted through the tower’s conical roof, piercing the cloud layer and splitting the sky.

Conversations died instantly. Merchants froze in their stalls. Across the dusty avenues, hundreds of players shielded their eyes from the column of raw radiance.

“What is that?”

“Did someone trigger an event?”

“Look at the sky—the energy signature is off the charts!”

Near the archway entrance, the waiting line collapsed into confusion. Ashfall stumbled back two steps, staring up at the roof with his jaw slack.

“...Photon-V?” he muttered to the empty air.

The purple beam expanded, its illumination casting long, unnatural shadows across the entire Arhod Desert. For three endless seconds, the sky turned the color of twilight.

Inside the light, I remained suspended.

The floating pages slowed, settling into a wide ring around me. Each parchment projected high-resolution imagery directly into my visual cortex: ancient spires crumbling under orbital bombardment, unfamiliar constellations forming, stars collapsing into black holes, and civilizations rising from planetary dust.

The data flooded my mind at an absurd rate. Yet, instead of triggering a migraine, my brain automatically categorized the incoming data streams—index, cross-reference, archive. Years of dissecting dense research papers and organizing complex lesson plans under tight deadlines kicked in instinctively.

Then, as abruptly as it had begun, the stream cut off.

The glowing pages folded inward, snapping back into the spine. The violet pillar collapsed into harmless sparks, the rumbling ceased, and absolute quiet reclaimed the room.

The heavy tome dropped back onto the stone pedestal with a dull thud.

Its light died instantly.

I stood alone in the center of the silent chamber, my heart hammering against my ribs.

“...That was it?” I whispered, glancing around the empty room.

No guardian entity had materialized. No chest of legendary loot had spawned. Just smooth stone walls and the old book.

I rubbed the back of my neck, trying to shake off the lingering static charge in the air. Is this standard protocol for a lore hub?

Before I could overthink it, the familiar system screen snapped into view.

===================================================

[ Mission Completed: Tower of the Wise ]

[ Calculating Neural Synchronization Index... ]

===================================================

I let out a long, slow breath. “At least the system registered it.”

A second prompt flared across the screen, its text flashing in bright gold.

===================================================

[ Synchronization Complete. ]

[ Result: 100% Neural Indexing Achieved. ]

[ Warning: You are the first player in network history to achieve a total Indexing Score. ]

===================================================

I froze.

“...Excuse me?”

I blinked, scanning the lines again to ensure my eyes weren't playing tricks on me.

One hundred percent? Ashfall had considered five percent a major achievement.

Before my brain could fully process the discrepancy, another alert flashed across the interface.

===================================================

[ Legendary Milestone Unlocked: The Omniscient Mind. ]

[ Broadcast Protocol Triggered: System-Wide Milestone Announcement. ]

===================================================

My stomach dropped. “Wait—broadcast?”

===================================================

[ Global Transmission Commencing in 3... 2... 1... ]

===================================================

“Cancel! Hold on!”

The system ignored my verbal command.

Across every server node, planetary hub, and private chat channel on Planet Krada, a high-priority system chime echoed simultaneously. A crimson-and-gold banner cut across the vision of millions of active players.

===================================================

[ SYSTEM-WIDE ANNOUNCEMENT ]

[ Player "Photon-V" has achieved a 100% Neural Indexing Score at the Tower of the Wise. ]

[ First Instance Recorded. Unique Evolution Path Unlocked: Mythical. ]

===================================================

For three seconds, the public channels went dead quiet. Then the floodgates burst.

Global chat channels turned into an unreadable blur of scrolling text. Guild headquarters across the inner planets erupted into emergency meetings.

“Photon-V? Who the hell is that?”

“Is that an alt account for one of the mega-guild leaders?”

“100%? The current top score on the global leaderboard is 18.4%!”

“It’s a system glitch. It has to be.”

Within minutes, a name that hadn't existed on any leaderboard an hour ago became the most hunted query in the entire network.

Inside the apex chamber, I remained blissfully ignorant of the chaos unfolding across the forums.

My focus was locked entirely on a single prompt hovering two inches from my face.

===================================================

[ Milestone Rewards Calculated. ]

[ Claim Rewards Now? (Y/N) ]

===================================================

I swallowed hard, my index finger hovering over the glowing confirmation box.

If five percent gave Ashfall a high-tier weapon and a class upgrade, what does a complete index grant?

I pressed [ Y ].

The chamber didn't just vibrate this time—it groaned under sudden, intense pressure.

The stone beneath my boots lit up as complex magic circles ignited across the floor. One layer, five layers, twenty layers—overlapping geometric arrays rotating in counter-opposing directions like the internal gears of a massive celestial clock. Ancient runes flared along every wall, saturating the chamber with mana so dense it felt like breathing underwater.

The tome on the pedestal levitated once more, its pages fanning open to the final leaf.

A voice echoed through the room. It didn't come from the system interface, nor was it mechanical. It sounded deep, ancient, and resonant, like stone grinding on stone.

“Knowledge is not inherited. It is claimed by those who dare to observe.”

The final page dissolved into a cloud of violet stardust that drifted upward before turning directly toward my chest.

Instinctively, I raised my arms to shield myself.

===================================================

[ Distributing Milestone Rewards... ]

===================================================

Line after line of text materialized before my eyes—not in the standard utility blue, but in blinding, iridescent gold.

My pulse hammered in my ears as I read the first line.

Three additional heavy Lancore dreadnoughts descended through the ceiling shaft, venting thick clouds of pressurized white steam as they deployed hydraulic landing gear onto the ice.Over two hundred elite Mech Mages, heavy vanguard shock-troopers, and specialized artillery technicians poured out of the transports, setting up holographic command tables, field-repair bays, and mobile mana-charging stations."Keep those heat exchangers clear!" His eyes flared as he instinctively planted his golden tower shield into the frost-slick stone floor, setting his stance. "And they're locking onto us!""Oppa, is it another giant lizard?" "A permanent bridge into a world..." Alexander repeated, his deep voice dropping a full octave. The massive paladin shifted his stance, the heavy plates of his armor grinding like tectonic plates as he gripped the outer rim of his tower shield until the knuckles of his gauntlets turned white. "You're telling me this thing wants to physically cross over into reality? Not just project an avatar, but drag its entire existence across the threshold?""The human brain operating under deep neural sync produces a massive electrical and bio-mana signature," Philsuat rasped, coughing violently as another strand of dark crimson code dissolved from his lips into floating ash. The old god leaned heavily against a decaying marble pedestal, his breathing shallow and rattling. "To the Administrator, your global neural network is not merely an interactive interface—it is raw, unrefined structural material. A digital canvas waiting to be overwritten, reformatted, and bound directly to physical matter.
