Mattimeo's expression darkened.
A level-one spirit Beast. At least it wasn't a Spirit Beast same level as the scorpions earlier. Not that it made much difference. As a mere Level Six Spirit Gathering cultivator, he stood no chance against either of them. He slowly retreated. The gray wolf's cold eyes locked onto him before its powerful legs exploded with force as it lunged. Mattimeo instinctively dodged. The wolf flashed past him, missing completely. His eyes widened. The beast was fast. Extremely fast. Yet somehow, he had evaded it with ease. Before the wolf could even recover from its missed attack, Mattimeo was already several steps away. "How...?" He stared at himself in disbelief. He knew exactly how fast he used to be. This was completely different. Had fear distorted his perception? Was he imagining things? A furious growl interrupted his thoughts. The wolf spun around and launched itself at him again, its claws tearing through the air with savage force. Mattimeo sidestepped. The attack missed again. This time, there was no doubt. He wasn't hallucinating. He was genuinely faster than the wolf. A dangerous idea surfaced in his mind. It lingered for only a moment before determination replaced hesitation. If he was faster, then perhaps he could attempt this. His hand moved to his side and pulled out the sharp hunting knife he carried. Without waiting another second, he rushed forward. The wolf sensed the challenge and became even more aggressive. Its muscles tensed before it leaped straight at him, fangs bared and claws extended. Mattimeo twisted sideways with no intent of facing it head on. Unlike before, he didn't completely avoid the attack. He wanted to get close enough to strike The knife flashed. A deep wound opened across the wolf's side. At almost the same moment, a claw tore across Mattimeo's chest. Blood sprayed from both man and beast. The wolf crashed onto the ground with a pained howl while Mattimeo staggered backward. His gaze slowly lowered to the blood pouring from the long gashes across his chest. Something stirred inside him. Anger Pure, overwhelming anger surged through his body like molten lava. The longer he stared at the blood, the stronger it became. His breathing grew heavier. His heartbeat thundered. An intense bloodlust began rising from the depths of his soul. The wolf growled and struggled to stand. Mattimeo's head snapped toward it. Their eyes met. The wolf froze. Its instincts screamed in warning. The human standing before it no longer felt like prey. Those crimson-tinted eyes were staring at it the way a predator stared at trapped food. For the first since the battle began, fear appeared in the beast's eyes. Its body trembled uncontrollably. Mattimeo's gaze shifted to the blood flowing from the wound he had inflicted. A strange red glow flickered within his eyes. Then a whisper echoed inside his mind. Rampage. He didn't know what it meant, nor did he care. His body exploded forward. The ground cracked beneath his feet as he shot toward the wolf like a bolt of lightning. The wolf's pupils shrank. Fear overwhelmed it, but with nowhere left to run, its survival instincts erupted. Instead of retreating, it launched itself at Mattimeo in a desperate frenzy. Its claws tore through the air. Its fangs snapped viciously toward his throat. Mattimeo didn't dodge or retreat. He didn't even flinch either. A claw raked across his arm. The wolf's teeth sank into his shoulder. Yet he felt nothing. His hand seized the knife buried in the wolf's body and began stabbing repeatedly. Once. Twice. Three times. Then faster. The blade rose and fell in a frenzy, each strike driving deeper than the last. Blood sprayed across his face and clothes. The wolf howled in agony. Still, it struggled desperately. Its claws lashed out. Its jaws snapped wildly. But Mattimeo continued stabbing without pause. Its struggles gradually weakened. Its claws lost strength. Its growls became whimpers. Soon, even those disappeared. The massive beast collapsed lifelessly to the ground. Only then did Mattimeo stop. His chest rose and fell violently as blood dripped from the knife clenched in his hand. After several seconds, he shoved the wolf's corpse away. The moment it left his hands, the bloodlust vanished. The rage disappeared. The madness faded. Everything returned to normal. Mattimeo stumbled backward, his face filled with shock. "What just happened?" None of it made sense. Why had he suddenly become so furious? Why had he become so bloodthirsty? Then he remembered. It had started the moment the wolf wounded him. It had intensified after he saw the wolf's blood. But why? And how had he suddenly become powerful enough to fight the beast head-on? He hadn't used any strategy. Near the end, he had simply overwhelmed it with raw brutality. His thoughts were interrupted when a strange gray aura began rising from the wolf's corpse. Mattimeo frowned. "What's that?" The aura floated upward before suddenly shooting toward him. Before he could react, it entered his body. Countless emotions exploded inside his mind. Anger. Fear. Hatred. Resentment. None of them belonged to him, yet they flooded his consciousness like a tidal wave. At the same time, a vast amount of energy surged into his body. The energy was violent and overbearing, carrying an ancient savage aura. His meridians burned. His muscles trembled. An unbearable heat spread throughout his body. It felt as though boiling water had replaced the blood flowing through his veins. His vision blurred. The world spun. Unable to endure any longer, his consciousness slipped away into darkness. Mattimeo found himself standing in a strange space. Dark, gloomy mountains stretched endlessly into the distance. Volcanoes dotted the landscape, spewing fire and smoke into the crimson sky. At the center of it all sat a man, cross-legged and motionless as he cultivated. The man's back faced him, yet Mattimeo felt an inexplicable sense of familiarity. He was certain he had seen this person before. Suddenly, the man's body became transparent. Mattimeo's eyes widened in shock. He could clearly see the flow of energy within the man's body. The energy moved through a complex circulation route before being absorbed and stored. "What?" Mattimeo stared in disbelief. The man wasn't cultivating with a Spirit Root. Instead, he was directly absorbing energy into his body. That was impossible!Latest Chapter

They started saying different things, but Wilson ignored them. Finally, he closed his furnace, his weapon complete."I'm done, Instructor," he called. The instructor's eyes lit up. He had secretly been worried about Wilson, especially since he had taken quite a lot of time. Even those who were less talented had already completed theirs. He took the weapon from Wilson and carefully appraised it. A wild smile slowly spread across his face.So this was why he had taken so much time."A mid-Mortal-grade weapon. I'm impressed." He nodded proudly.Although he wasn't as shocked as he had been in Mattimeo and Zaki's cases. The same materials, in reality, could be used to craft a mid-Mortal-grade weapon by those who truly knew what they were doing. But for a high-grade or peak-grade weapon, you needed something more. Otherwise, you had to be a supreme blacksmithing genius. The instructor's mind was already made up. He had to write to the sect and inform them that they had not one, but two absu

"What are you saying? Stop that. I'm your teacher, and you are my student," she said, but her voice lacked its usual firmness."You owe me one unconditional request, Aurora. Can I use it now?" he asked."Oh, and what's your request?" she asked."Kiss me," he said boldly. She stared at him in shock.Mattimeo held her gaze without backing down. For a moment, neither of them moved. Then, on impulse, she let the feelings she had been trying to suppress take over. She stepped forward and kissed him.The kiss was sudden and intense, her lips pressing firmly against his as though she had finally stopped fighting what she wanted. Mattimeo froze for a heartbeat, stunned by the force of it. He had been expecting her to refuse and negotiate, or perhaps give him a quick peck just to satisfy the request.Never in his wildest dreams had he expected her to kiss him like this. Her fingers slipped into his hair, gripping the back of his head as she pulled him closer. The warmth of her body, the softne

"What? Are you?" Zhou stared intently at Mattimeo."Stupid question."Mattimeo moved immediately. Zhou thrust out his left hand, releasing a surge of fire. The flame burned brightly in his palm before he shot it toward Mattimeo.Mattimeo smirked and simply stretched out his hand, breaking the flames apart. He appeared before Zhou in the next instant and kicked him hard in the head. The force sent Zhou crashing to the ground."Don't play with flames before me in your next life." He scoffed. The remaining three were trapped within Zaki's vines, their bodies tightly bound as they pleaded desperately for their lives.Mattimeo stepped toward Zhang.Zhang had witnessed everything that had happened, and terror immediately took hold of him. He struggled to move backward, forcibly rolling himself along the ground while clutching his bleeding chest."What? Are you scared?" Mattimeo asked with a mocking smirk."You were quite bold when you attacked me just now. Didn't you say you would kill me a

"Zhang, I heard that Mattimeo has returned," a skinny guy in a green robe said as their group walked through the forest."So I heard. I have some people watching him. The next time he's going on a mission, it's going to be his last." He chuckled evilly."But... That girl is not the only girl in the sect. Why are you so hell-bent on getting her?" The skinny guy couldn't help but ask."Because I love her! Do you understand what love is!?""You love someone you haven't even been with before? How's that even possible?""Enough."A tall, masculine youth said, cutting the two off."If he loves her, then he must get her. There's no way someone from our family could lose to a nobody. If he's from a noble family, maybe we should be worried, but in this case, he's not. Just a nameless nobody."Zhang smiled with glee."You see? My brother is the best."The other three didn't say anything. Even though they felt that it didn't make sense to go to all these lengths for a woman who didn't love him,

Mattimeo and Zaki looked at Ezekiel, anger burning in their hearts."The sect didn't do anything?""They took points from them. But that's because the injury this time is too severe. This isn't the first time they have attacked me," Ezekiel explained."I see." Mattimeo said nothing more. He simply stood there, his gaze fixed somewhere in the distance as he silently considered what he had just heard. Finally, he stood up."We will take revenge for you," he said, his voice calm but firm."No. Don't. Zhang just broke through to the Energy Condensation Realm Plus, and he has a big brother who is in the second level of Energy Condensation," Ezekiel warned."Was his brother present when it happened?" Mattimeo asked.Ezekiel sighed. "Yes. Actually, I have been joining a team of seniors for missions. That way, Zhang hasn't been able to attack me for a while. But that day, he brought his brother and his friends, so they overwhelmed my group."Mattimeo remained silent, his expression tightening

The Count was a middle-aged man, very much older than the Viscount.Currently, Mattimeo and Zaki were seated at the table with him. A large meal was spread before them, and the servants moved diligently around the table, serving each dish as needed."Do you know, both of you are much more interesting than many master alchemists right now?" the Count said suddenly."We dare not compare ourselves with master alchemists," Mattimeo replied. The Count studied him for a moment, his gaze lingering on Mattimeo's face. Then he turned his attention to the fatty, who seemed far more interested in the food in front of him than in the Count. The feeling appeared almost mutual. The Count had spent some time investigating Zaki and had already discovered something important about him."I was thinking of introducing both of you to the Second Prince. Right now, your fame is limited to the small regions known to Tigerfang, but I can actually help both of you become extremely popular."Mattimeo's movemen
