The ballroom was a scene of chaos and horror. The Guests were screaming, some of them ducking for cover as the shooting was still going on, while others stood frozen in shock. Lena was on her knees beside Max who had just been shot. Her hands were trembling as she tried to apply pressure to the area of the wound. Trisha clutched Max's hand, her tears mingling with the blood that seeped through her fingers.

"Max, stay with me. Please, stay with me," Trisha sobbed, her voice breaking with desperation.

Lena glanced around frantically, her eyes meeting Ronald's as he pushed through the stunned crowd. "We need a doctor! Somebody call an ambulance, now!"

Ronald knelt beside his cousin, his face pale with fear. "Hang in there, Max. Help is on the way."
