Revenge From Family

The cold wind blew bringing calmness to his burning heart. 

“Welcome back home, Dorian. You are back at the place where you lived all your life,” Dorian mockingly said to himself. 

All the memories of his childhood started playing in his mind. When he was just a baby, he was sent to the orphanage by his father and his stepmother, saying that he was a curse on their family. 

He lived there for some time but he was always bullied there too, so at the age of twelve, he decided to get out of there and live on his own.

“I thought happiness was out there… in that luxurious world. I wasn’t able to find it even after so much time.” 

Running away from the orphanage, he struggled to find a place to live and eat, but one day, he found this building. Just like how he was standing on top of the building and gazing at the city lights, he did the same thing when he first came there in that building back when he was twelve. 

Dragging himself to the back of the rooftop, he recalled the small makeshift living space where he used to live before. 

Pushing the long steel pieces, he saw his old home. He had made a little roof using some other steel pieces and there was a little bed on the ground. 

He lay there on the bed and pushed the steel piece on top of him so he could gaze at the sky and see those stars. 

“This place became my strength once and it will be my strength once again.” A satisfying smile appeared on his face as he said that.

Even though he was trying his best to be strong, still he couldn’t help but feel his heart hurting. The world was so cruel, and once again, it showed its cruelty to Dorian.

He finally decided to sleep after some time with the thought that he would check about that hologram and system tomorrow…

The next morning arrived, and he was back at work.

“Come Dorian, you need to deliver the pizza as soon as possible.” The manager at the restaurant ordered Dorian.

He quickly grabbed those pizzas and went on his way to deliver them. He had forgotten about the notification he had received last night and the only thing he could remember was the incident that happened. How his wife betrayed him and how he was left all alone.

These thoughts didn't leave his mind, even for just a moment.

“Here are the pizzas that you ordered, sir,” he said with a huge smile plastered on his face and handed over the pizzas to the person who ordered them.

“Thank you very much for your service,” the person replied, and paid Dorian for the pizza. And also gave him some tips.

"Thank you." Dorian bowed his head a little, still with a huge smile on his face as he made his way back to his bicycle. He did some more deliveries till evening before he was finally done.

He made his way back to the restaurant and reported on all the deliveries he made. He was usually paid daily according to how many deliveries he made in a day. As he reached the restaurant, he went directly to the manager and after reporting he got his pay for the day.

Even though the pay was quite less still, it made a smile appear on his face. He received 80 dollars in total.

"I have transferred you the money. You can leave now and don't be late tomorrow." The manager said as he dismissed Dorian.

Nodding one last time, Dorian finally made his way out of the restaurant. As Dorian stepped back and was moving towards his bicycle, he heard the notification sound.

[ Ding. ] 

He looked around here and there to get from where the voice came when suddenly a hologram appeared before him. 

[ 1 Million dollar have been transferred in your account. ] 

[ Spend it by 12 pm in the night or else you will fail the system and die. ] 

"Huh, this thing again?"

While he was reading the notification, he got confused again. Suddenly, he received a text message from his bank account stating that he had received the amount in his bank account.

He was supposed to receive 80 dollars just like his manager told him, but seeing the notification, his eyes went wide. It was not just 80 dollars, instead it was 1 million dollars.

"Oh my! I really received 1 million dollars instead of 80?" Dorian couldn't believe what he was seeing.

He was amazed to see the notification of the bank account, though he was still not believing that it was actually happening to him.

He quickly rode on the cycle and went to the nearest ATM. He was trembling with excitement by the time he reached the ATM. He quickly inserted his card and punched in the code to check the balance. His mind was racing with joy when he saw the amount in his account.

"Oh, my God! I cannot believe this is happening,” he spoke loudly, as he couldn’t believe what his eyes were seeing. 

“I should test it.” With this thought, he just put in a random amount which came in his head.

Suddenly, the money started coming out. He was holding 1o thousand dollars in his hand now and he couldn’t even believe all that was happening. 

Dorian was filled with joy and happiness. His legs started trembling a little as he was holding the cash.

He pinched himself to check if he was actually in a dream or not. He was overwhelmed with excitement and disbelief. He couldn't believe the amount of money he had just got.

“Oh, it’s real, it's real!” He spoke loudly with joy.

He quickly stuffed the cash in his pocket and ran back to his house. His heart kept pounding with excitement as he imagined the possibilities.

A quick thought came into his mind. “Was this a one-time offer?"

He quickly opened his phone again when suddenly the hologram appeared before him again.

[ 10 thousand dollars have been deducted from account. ]

[ Spend the money by 12:00 ] 

He was filled with joy and happiness after seeing that message.

Tears started falling from his eyes as he saw the notification. He was incredibly happy and excited to see this, as he now had a clear path to his future goal.

At the instance he started thinking of the revenge he needed to take from his wife and his father. Now it was time he got loads of cash. He wanted to buy a new car, so he went to a car showroom.

The showroom was big, with lots of cars. He was confused about which one he wanted to buy. He only wanted to buy that car, which was the most expensive, but he was confused as he didn’t know anything about cars.

“Good morning, sir! May I guide you about the cars we have in the showroom” the showroom manager asked Dorian with respect. Dorian was relieved to hear the showroom manager's offer, and he agreed to it. The manager showed him the features of each car and explained the pros and cons of each one.

"Yes, please, but only show me the one that has the most features,” Dorian replied with a confused face.

Finally, there was one car which Dorian liked, so he decided to buy that one. He quickly pulled out his debit card and made payment for the car.

“Dhuk”

The car door closed as Dorian sat in the car. Dorian took a deep breath and started the engine. He shifted the car into gear and drove away, leaving the old house behind. As he drove, he thought about the life he was leaving behind and the future that lay ahead.

As Dorian went on the streets, he was very happy to get that car. Everyone on the roads and streets looked at Dorian's car. His heartfelt joy, and it was splendid to drive it but he was eager to buy that car only in order to take revenge.

In order to achieve his goals, he decided to buy a house in front of his father and his stepmother's house. He bought the most expensive house in town, and he filled it with all the modern amenities. When they saw his house, they were surprised, and his stepmother was filled with jealousy. This gave Dorian immense satisfaction, and he felt like his revenge was starting to happen.

He saw the house of his father and stepmother looking at the big window of his room. While looking towards the window, he was thinking about what he should do next in order to achieve his goal. His house was so big and luxurious as compared to the house of his father and stepmother.

“Looks like we have new neighbours.” Dorian’s stepmother Stephney spoke curiously.

“What do we have to do with this?” Dorian’s father Mark replied, as he was not interested.
