Alarming (1) - Gateway

"Now then, where shall we begin?" Sir Leon said, his words slow and drawn out, his voice hoarse and icy.

He walked with a heavy step around the room before stopping in front of Adamax and Talia, then planted himself in the space between their chairs.

Sir Leon then turned to Adamax, bending down so that their faces were level. In a grave tone, he said, "You. Let's start with you. If there's no progress with your talent, then..."

Adamax couldn't stop himself from trembling as the fear he felt for this man reached new heights. In all his lives, past and present, he'd never felt this level of terror. Sir Leon was indeed an intimidating man.

Despite his fear, Adamax only managed to break out in a cold sweat under the imposing gaze of the man behind the large, bug-like glasses.

Just as Sir Leon was about to finish his statement, a banging thunderous alarm sounded from the four corners of the classroom, its purple light blinking. "Badrum, badrum, badrum, badrum, badrum."
