Riley, standing in the center of the field, felt his heartbeat slow. The system's calculations had guided him perfectly, allowing him to predict every attack.
But he still held back. 'I can't let them know about my ability yet, ' Riley said in his mind.
Hogan was looking frustrated and shocked, he slammed his fist on the ground before getting up slowly. His eyes was filled with rage.
"This is not t over Riley " Hogan said with a dark voice.
Hogan charged again but before he could reach Riley.
"That's enough!" Master duke said with a loud voice as he stopped Hogan from his attacks.
Hogan was pissed off, he clenched his fist tightly but he just gave to obey the instructions.
"Master, I..." Hogan tried to speak
Master duke raised a hand, silencing him. Then, he turned to Riley. His piercing gaze seemed to analyze him deeper than anyone else ever had.
"Riley," he said slowly, " you lasted against Hogan longer than any recruit has ever managed."
The other hunters murmured among themselves still stunned by what they had witnessed. Master duke stepped forward, placing a hand on Riley's shoulder.
"You're coming with me," he declared."Starting from today, your training begins, personally under me." He said.
The entire crowd erupted in shock. Hogan's eyes darkened with anger. Akira, standing in the back, simply smiled.Diley, however, felt his heart race, for the first time in his life, he was ready.
Months passed, the whole hunters were preparing for their upcoming missions tomorrow.
Tension was in the air, everyone was scared but they tended to not show it.
"Risky, how's your training going?" Akira asked.
"Akira, my training is going very well. Master duke pushes me to the extreme but I get it...the battle we are going to face is dangerous" Riley Anderson replied with a smile.
"Yeah, glad you're doing alright...you are going to do well out there regardless of not having any abilities" Akira said.
“We can't say for sure” Riley said before letting out a chuckle.
“You should rest, tomorrow is a big day for us” Akira said before walking into her room.
“Yeah, good night” Riley replied before heading to his own room.
Riley shares a room with a hunter named Doyle. Doyle has two unique abilities.
Titan Strength – A monstrous level of physical power, capable of toppling buildings with a single punch.
Arcane Sage – Mastery over ancient spells and magic, wielding knowledge long lost to history.
"Hey Doyle, how are you feeling for tomorrow?" Riley said as he entered the room. "He went straight to his bed and lay down." Doyle was also laying down in a separate bed.
"Yeah, I don't know if we're ready... we're going to another dimension filled with all kinds of monsters" Doyle replied coldly, Riley could sense the fear in his voice.
"Good night buddy" Riley said before shutting his eyes to sleep.
The next morning, the hunters gathered, tension thick in the air. Only five would be chosen.
Master duke stepped forward, his face cold.
"Hogan, Doyle, Akira, Miller and Riley Anderson.. you've been selected." He announced.
He paused." The enchanted crystal ball is dying. Without it, earth is defenseless. The only way to restore it is with the gem of Vespa... hidden on planet 204, a land of deadly monsters." He announced it to them.
"The fate of our world rests on you five. Hogan, as the strongest, you lead. Go and make us proud." Master duke said as he locked eyes with them.
With a final nod, the chosen five prepared for their mission.
It was finally time to leave, their weapons all ready.
"Don't forget your training guys...Riley stay focused" master duke said.
There was suspense in the air, as the portal began to power up. A low hum and small trembling filled the air, as the trembling grew louder and intense.
The portal was already powering on, the frame covered with silver and gold, as the portal started to glow with bright light. The glow increased brighter and brighter. The light was the highest and it's sure the portal was ready to transport them.
It was finally ready to transport anyone to a new dimension.
"Alright, everyone, the portal is set!" Hogan affirmed as he carried his back and strapped it behind him. Hogan was clad in a black armor, and a sword held firmly in his right hand.
Standing behind him were four individuals. Three of the people were all equipped in armors and wielded weapons, but Riley just stood there carrying several bags in both his hands and back.
"Today is the day we've all been waiting for. so this mission should be swift and easy." Hogan added. "I am your leader, so please do well to comply!"
The group had a collective resounding yes and were ready to leave.
"Hey, Miller, why are you carrying those bags? Why don't you just give it to the weakling in our group. After all, that's the only important thing he can do in this hunt!" A guy among the group voiced out while glaring at the boy beside him in disdain.
"Hogan is right. Why do we have to bring this fucking weakling to the hunt anyway? He is a no ability Hunter, he would only be a drawback." Miller chimed in.
"You better do as I say Riley, master duke won't save you this time" Hogan added as he took off the bag he carried and tossed it over to Riley who managed to carry it.
The bag was extremely heavy, but Riley had to carry them no matter what.
"Alright, let's proceed to entering the portal!" Hogan declared as they began to walk closer to the portal and entered it. The moment they stepped in, they vanished instantly.

He quickly comes up with a half truth, hoping it will satisfy Master duke without more suspicion."Well, I've been, uh, watching a lot of hunters sparring . You know, trying to learn from them. I guess I picked up a few things from watching their movement and techniques. Plus the monsters were slow. I just...I don't know, I acted on instinct" Riley said.Master Duke's gaze softens a little but he is still not entirely convinced. He nods slowly, processing Riley's words."Instinct huh?, I've seen instincts in action and what you did back there felt more....intentional. Almost like you knew exactly how each of them would make it before they did." Master duke said confidently.Riley forced out a laugh."I guess I got lucky?, I don't know, maybe adrenaline kicked in or something " He said.Master duke studies Riley for a few more moments, the sighs,
