Ethan Hunter 08

Ethan smiled at the girl. “There's no need to worry. I'll be fine.”

The girl looked doubtful. She smiled wryly and couldn't respond to Ethan's words. In her opinion, Ethan was really too bold to say such a thing.

Then a woman friend of the girl took her hand and pulled the girl. “Forgive her, just forget what she said.”

The two turned around. However, Ethan heard a sentence come out of the woman in a whisper. “Don't interfere in his problem! He's already too crazy to deal with the Chulkin family. You’ll be damned!”

Ethan just smiled a little. It turned out that after 3 years Ethan left the Hunter world, there were many things he didn't know. Including the influence of the Chulkin family in this town. Even everyone here seemed to be afraid of their existence.

That incident must have made Edward very vengeful towards Ethan. It was likely that the man would take that revenge on Ethan sooner or later. If he could do it, Ethan wanted to see how much resistance he could put up to bring Ethan down.

At the Blake household, Thalia looked at the dining table with a puckered face. The table was so empty. In fact, in the morning like this there is usually a complete breakfast. “Mom, why is there no food?”

Sonia, who had just arrived, frowned. “Why are you even asking me? You should be the one preparing the food. Remember, Ethan is no longer here. Who else is going to cook if not you?”

Thalia's blood pressure immediately rose when she heard that. She opened her eyes wide with an annoyed look on her face. “Why is this my responsibility?”

Sonia casually turned around. “You're the one who threw Ethan out of this house, it should be your responsibility, right?”

Thalia's body felt hot as soon as she heard that. She wanted to say something harsh. She just clenched her fists and stomped her feet to let out her anger.

Ever since Ethan left this house, somehow there were so many little things that made Thalia get angry easily. It was as if Ethan's departure had a bad impact on Thalia. However, Thalia didn't realize that because all this time Thalia only considered Ethan as a burden.

Thalia decided to leave immediately. She grabbed her bag and left the house. It was better to find breakfast outside than to have to fight in the morning like this.

Before getting into the car, Thalia grabbed her cell phone and called Edward. “Edward, you're off today, right? How about we go to a restaurant? I have some free time before 10 am.”

Thalia said it with a smile and a spoiled voice. A voice that was so soft, even men who heard it would definitely feel floating.

However, Edward could not even feel that flirt. His current state could not make him think about romantic things. “I can't do it, Thalia. I broke my big toe bone very badly. The doctor said I need surgery right now. Otherwise, I could end up disabled!”

Thalia was wide-eyed when she heard that. “How did that happen? Are you okay?”

Edward hissed in pain. “This wound is very severe. Many of the bones are broken in small pieces. And do you know who made me like this? It was Ethan!”

Thalia was instantly transfixed. She wrinkled her forehead. “Ethan? That loser Ethan Hunter?”

“Yes! That loser did it!” Edward replied angrily. “That bastard deliberately dropped a barbell on my big toe twice. Just you wait, I'll definitely make him seize! I'll skin him and throw his corpse into the crocodile pen!”

Thalia became angry as well. As much as Thalia knew, Ethan was just a poor flabby man. He was even weaker than a cockroach. A person like him should be able to be trampled on. How dare he do such a thing to someone from the Chulkin family?

Edward then sighed weakly. “Oh yes, I would also like to inform you that our pre-wedding photo session this week has been canceled. I told the photographer not to do it.”

Thalia's temper rose again. “What did you say? Why didn't you tell me first?”

Edward sighed again. “I need to take care of my toe first. The group photo can be done another time. Never mind, let's not sweat the small stuff! I'm going to have surgery now. I'm disconnecting this call now.”

“Wait, I haven't finished talking yet--” Thalia immediately stopped talking when the phone line stopped ringing. She clicked her tongue in annoyance. “Ethan! Even when you're out of this house you're still a troublemaker!”

In a fit of rage, Thalia kicked the tires of her car. Although it only made her own leg hurt.

Annoyed, she opened the car door and got in. Just as she was about to drive off, her high school brother suddenly walked in front of the car, making her suddenly have to hit the brakes.

Thalia honked twice and shouted from the side window. “Denys! Don't suddenly appear in front of the car, damn it! I almost hit you!”

Thalia was already very emotional this morning. Facing another annoying person would make her explode. If Denys said something funny, then Thalia would definitely hit him until he was deterred.

Instead of answering, Denys turned slowly to Thalia. His face was blank, like a child lost in a crowd. “Sorry, Thalia. I'm really dizzy right now.”

Denys' face did look pale, he felt that his sense of hearing had suddenly diminished just as he was about to leave for school. He wanted to return home, but instead didn't realize that Thalia had almost run into him.

Thalia let out a long breath. “If you're sick, go back home and have mom take you to the doctor!”

Denys nodded slowly. He then resumed walking slowly. For some reason, the boy's steps seemed very heavy. Thalia, with furrowed brows, continued to watch the boy's behavior.

Just as he was about to open the door, Denys turned to Thalia. Thalia opened her eyes wide. She held her breath as she witnessed something strange on Denys' face.

The boy's face turned into something else. A face with red eyes and long fangs. He let out a creepy grin at Thalia.

Thalia immediately rubbed her eyes and looked back at Denys. The face was gone. What she saw now was Denys with his pale face. Thalia held her chest. She still felt how hard her heart was beating. “What is that? Did I see it wrong?”

Bad thoughts haunted Thalia. She quickly shook her head and patted her cheeks. Then she stepped back on the gas pedal to leave for the office.

Without Thalia realizing it, Denys' body had been emitting a thin black smoke. It evaporated into the air.

His fingers tightened on the revolver's handle, almost pulling the trigger involuntarily. A disgusting sound rang out as the Wendigo's skin fused back together. And within seconds... his hand was back in one piece.“No way...”Ethan's voice was almost a whisper. “A Demon Hunter like you? How could...,” Ben's words trailed off. He knew how strong Ethan was. He had seen it himself-how this man stood unwavering despite being shotgunned, how he kept moving forward despite being thrown molotovs. But his eyes were now fixed on something different. The blood seeping from Ethan's stomach. Ben's breath caught. Slowly, he raised his gaze, looking directly into Ethan's face. There was something in the man's eyes-something Ben had never seen before. Doubt. “You... who can't be pierced by bullets, who doesn't even falter in fire... could be hurt by that thing?”Ethan was silent. His jaw hardened slightly. He hated this fact, but he knew there was no point in denying it. Slowly, he nodded.Ben swallowed. If Ethan could get hurt, then... what could anyone else do?Ethan took a deep breath. His voice was low, but there was something in it-weight, certainty, and an inviolable truth. “You need to get out.”Ben remained silent. Inside his chest, a battle betwee

The wendigo groaned, its hoarse voice echoing through the air, almost like a fusion of a wolf's howl and a tortured human scream. Its thin, towering body bent over slightly, its long claws gripping the wet ground. He could not see clearly, but he did not need to. Its black nostrils flared, inhaling the air deeply, searching for traces of scent in the surroundings. The smell of gunpowder... sharp, burning his sense of smell. It mixed with the sweat and blood of the human in front of him-not prey, but a threat. It's head turned quickly towards Ethan, as if he had just realized something.
