CHAPTER NINE

The silence that erupted afterward sprang into the air, shooting deep into the minds of everyone who had gathered to witness the scene.

“What is he doing?” Many asked, but it didn’t sound or seem like they were expecting any response at all.

They all stared, their eyes wide and flashing at Kai with intense curiosity.

“He will surely suffer for his lack of respect…” One of the observers said with a convinced tone, staring at Kai with disdain in his eyes.

Of course, nothing was pleasing about Kai, nothing to suggest that he was going to be able to withstand the pressure and intimidation from Derek and his friends.

Not only did he appear weak and unkempt, but he had an ugly reputation that already suggested that he was going to be put to shame by the three popular young men.

Already, Chen had started to think about the kind of punishment that he was going to receive for the accident that had happened, and at each moment, his heart sank deeper into his chest.

“Save me…” He prayed silently, rubbing his palms while he ignored the pain from kneeling for so long.

Meanwhile, Derek and his cohorts had already encircled Kai, but for some reason, he lacked the usual fluster that they were used to seeing.

“You should be on your knees like that stupid driver, you punk!” Brandon roared, his eyes sparking with a lingering rage.

He turned to Chen, and with just one look, he had already sent more shivers down the spine of the driver, causing him to swallow hard.

Chen tried to hide the tears that were welling up in his eyes from the moment they began to trickle down his face, but that seemed like the most impossible thing he could do.

He took a deep breath, and when that didn’t seem like it was enough, he gulped down hard saliva, hoping that it was going to push his apprehension down.

But his entire body was still engulfed in fear of both reality and the uncertainty that he was facing.

“I am done for!” He whispered loudly, his voice heavy and laden with fear.

Soon, Brandon was no longer looking at him, but it didn’t mean that his vile had subsided.

It was still intact, simmering through his veins and appearing deep inside his eyes.

“Justin?” Brandon called out to his friend who instantly turned to look at him with arched brows.

“Call your father already!” The former was in a hurry, and turning to face Kai, he expressed the evil that he had been nurturing inside him for a very long time.

“I think it’s time for us to put this loser in his place…” He snorted, eyes burning with rage.

“Hurry up and call your Dad. Tell him that there is a criminal who has been disturbing the peace of this City. That should tell him how urgent this situation is…”

“I agree!” Justin nodded, and lifting his phone to his face once again, he stared at the screen of the device, pressing his thumb against the phone icon.

His father’s phone number was on speed dial already, and that meant that he didn’t have to scroll.

“You are making a big mistake, Justin…” Kai’s voice rang out silently, causing the young man to lift his face off the screen.

“Did someone just say something?” Justin asked, and intentionally avoiding Kai, he shifted his gaze to Derek who shook his head at once.

“I think you heard wrongly, Justin…” Derek cleared his throat, turning to Brandon who quickly understood the joke and shook his head as well.

“I think that must have been the sound of an animal, Justin. Maybe a squirrel…”

“Or even a bird…” Derek added, looking up to the sky.

Those words caused their audience to snigger, sneering at Kai who at some point could no longer pretend as though he wasn’t touched by those words.

He tried to hide his face, but everyone had already seen the fact that he had pissed off, and they also seemed to love it.

Everyone was certain that he was not going to be able to do anything about the situation.

However, Kai didn’t seem to care about the crowd, and no matter how many people had gathered, he seemed determined to accomplish the mission that he had in mind.

He turned to look at Chen, and the distraught state of the driver caused his heart to be in pain.

Right at that moment, he forgot about everything that had been holding him back and decided to grab the bull by the horns.

The three young men standing in front of him were like his worst nightmare, but it was time for him to stand up for himself.

“I think it is time for the three of you to take a break. That’s enough…” He grunted, eyes glittering with annoyance.

Since he had no other duties, he stood behind Mo Hua with Elder Yu, craning his neck to watch Mo Hua draw the formation.Elder Yu, seeing Master Ban so engrossed, asked softly, “Do you understand what you’re seeing?”Master Ban shook his head, “I don’t,” and asked in return, “Do you understand?”Elder Yu also shook his head, “I don’t understand. What are you looking at?”“You don’t understand and yet you’re looking too,” Master Ban said.Elder Yu chuckled awkwardly, “I’m just curious, taking a look from the side.”Master Ban said to himsel

The young monk looked to be about ten years old, with a clean brow and handsome features, appearing obedient and cute. But as he lay sprawled on the ground, covered in dirt, he also looked rather filthy.“Whose child is this, running around here to play?”Master Ban was taken aback for a moment, then quietly walked over to follow the young monk’s gaze and discovered he was looking at the foundation stone below, which seemed to be reserved for Formation Painting. What was a child doing looking at this foundation stone?Master Ban didn’t quite understand and also peered down for a while, noticing nothing but soil and stone, and nothing particularly special. At that moment, he heard the child say:“Is that Master Ban?”Master Ban paused, “You know me?”“Mmm, my name is Mo Hua, Elder Yu sent me here.”Mo Hua stood up and dusted off the dirt from his clothes. But he only brushed the front, his back still had some mud stains—he must have crawled somewhere dirty, and his short arms couldn’t

What’s most important for you is to learn more about Compound Formations, especially since you are already at the Qi Refinement level six.”Qi Refinement level six, so what?Mo Hua frowned, suddenly remembering that he was indeed at Qi Refinement level six, and a breakthrough would take him to level seven.Moving from Qi Refinement level six to seven signified the transition from the middle phase to the lat

There couldn’t be the slightest negligence.Since he wasn’t completely sure, it would be better to consult Mr. Zhuang.Mo Hua then went to the Forgetful Residence and presented his Architectural Formation plan to Mr. Zhuang for review.Mr. Zhuang’s eyelids twitched at the sight of the densely packed Formation Method Map, but upon seeing that it was just a simple arrangement of Single Formations and Compound Formations, independent of each other, he finally let out a sigh of re
