Chapter 7

The boy, who appeared to be no older than ten, clenched his teeth angrily as he glared at the man before him.

"What is going on? What did the kid do?" A bystander asked.

"That kid dared to crush Moses Lake's golf ball simply because it hit him." Another person responded.

"He did? Tsk, then he's an insolent brat who deserves whatever he's going through!" A passerby chimed in.

Dillon and Merlin listened to the conversation going on within the crowd and exchanged concerned looks.

They noticed a basket filled with golf balls and markings on the road, indicating that Moses Lake had been playing golf there. Although the road was temporarily closed for construction, it was not intended to be used as a golf course by some arrogant bastard

Dillon had no idea who this Moses guy was, but he knew a rude and vile person when he saw them.

Ignoring the ongoing chatter, Moses took another golf ball from someone nearby and placed it on the road, preparing to swing his club.

He was a professional as the ball went straight to the kid's forehead. With the effort he used in swinging the club, it was clear that Moses intended to cause the boy serious harm.

However, the ball never got to its target as Dillon suddenly appeared in front of the boy and caught it.

Then meeting Moses Lake's eyes, he crushed the ball with a stoic look.

"What is it with people messing with Moses Lake today? Do they have a death wish?" Someone scoffed from the crowd.

"Even if they don't, it's an honor to be killed by him!" One of Moses Lake's fans muttered in admiration.

An annoyed look came upon Moses' eyes as he looked Dillon over. Where did this bastard come from?

He paid no attention to Dillon afterward as he took another ball and positioned it well.

Almost immediately, two burly men who Dillon guessed to be Moses' bodyguards, walked towards him.

They tried to touch Dillon, but the latter evaded them. Seeing this, Moses' eyes darkened as he issued the order, "If he moves again, break his legs."

The bodyguards nodded and placed a hand on Dillon's shoulder. Unfortunately for him, Dillon held his hand, bent down a little and toppled him over his shoulder and before he could drop to the ground, he slammed his knee on the bodyguard's head, rendering him unconscious.

When this happened, the second bodyguard took two steps backward while the crowd sucked in a deep breath.

"Who is he? Is he from a first tier family? How could he topple a man weighing up to 100 kilogrammes!" someone asked in awe.

"If he does belong to a top family, Moses Lake will know him. But the duo obviously haven't met before which means whichever family he comes from is below the Lake's family which means he is in a lot of trouble because Moses Lake is known for holding grudges!"

Moses' eyebrow perked up in annoyance. He swung his golf club and placed it on his shoulder, then pursed his lips.

"What is it with you rich people and pride? If you keep doing that you're going to kill him." Dillon spoke out, not looking like he just blacked out a top boxer in less than ten seconds.

"Well, you made the wrong choice because you're going to die in my hands." Moses smiled halfheartedly, his eyes going to the unconscious man on the floor.

He had spent a lot to hire that scumbag, but he was knocked unconscious by such a lanky trash like Dillon.

"I'll give any one of you who break his legs two million dollars!" Moses spoke to the other three bodyguards with him. He refused to believe Dillon's ability could let him take on three hefty men all at once.

Even if he did beat one of them, the other two would grab and crush him before he knew it.

Dillon stared straight at Moses and scoffed, seeing through him. He had boxed in some underground rings to earn money when he left the orphanage.

He didn't win most times since the contestants often had improved strengths. His brain always knew what to do, but with no strength, it was impossible to win a fight no matter how smart he was.

But now, he could feel the power coursing through his veins. His power had tremendously increased.

Moses tore his eyes away from the scene as he reached for something beside him. Next time, this retard should know who to mess with!

Krak! Krak! Krak!

Those were the sounds Moses heard followed by grunts. He returned his attention back to the scene with a smug look.

However, that smug look was wiped off his face when he saw the scene before him. The three boxing champions he had spent so much to procure, laid on the floor, unable to get up as Dillon had broken their right legs.

But the scene didn't still deter him as he sneered and whipped out his phone to call a certain number. "Dad, I need your help. An idiot here has a death wish. Send me ten of your men."

"Hey, you alright?" Dillon asked the boy.

Meanwhile, the little boy stared up at him in awe and amazement. Like one who had seen his real life hero. But then found him extremely familiar.

"Are you Dillon Grendel?"

"Yes."

Before Dillon could assimilate why the boy asked that, he rushed up to Dillon and hugged his leg, the only place he could reach.

"I'm Timothy Wolf! And I've been looking for you!" The little boy exclaimed happily, tightening his grip on Dillon's leg.

Dillon tilted his head to the side in confusion. Even if he did have a child out of carelessness, that child wouldn't be this big, would he?

Merlin rushed up to them in surprise. If not for the matter at hand, he would've taken the initiative to tease Dillon by asking if he had a child.

"Dillon, you should get out of here as soon as possible. The Lake family are a bunch of corrupt politicians. They have connections all over New York and will make your life miserable." Merlin said then paused when he recalled Dillon's new identity. "Okay, forget it. We'll just beat up whoever they send, right?"

Just like Dillon, he too had taken an interest in boxing. But unlike Dillon who took the whole thing seriously as it was his way of earning money, Merlin merely used it to build up his body stature and get stronger.

He had always enjoyed the thrill of beating up insolent people, but always refrained from doing so because of his family background. But now, the Grendel family would protect him. Hehe.

At that moment, a bus drove into the place and ten people holding clubs rushed out of it and rounded the duo.

"Go down on your knees and apologize to me and maybe I'll tell them to break just your right legs." Moses spoke nonchalantly, like he was doing them a favour.

"Apologize to you, my foot! You idiot from the Lake family, you have no idea who you're messing with!" Timothy hissed, his iris turning into a darker shade of blue. Just like that of Dillon's.

The buzz that the President of Titanium Corporation would be present during the Brad family anniversary celebration sent a lot of families into hoarding various expensive gifts to appease him. In a few hours, a number of high profile brands sold off majority of their most expensive dresses and suits.Meanwhile, the cause of the sensation stood in front of the mirror in his room admiring the polyester black shirt he was putting on along with a gray sweatpant. The door to his room was pushed open and a tuxedo wearing Merlin walked in. He froze seeing the numerous branded clothes scattered all over Dillon's king-sized bed, then shifted his attention to the plain man standing in front of the mirror. "Merlin, what do you think of my outfit?" Dillon asked, still checking out his outfit. Merlin stepped into the room fully, gently closing the door behind him. "Are you going for a run?""No, why do you ask?" Dillon shook his head, obviously not noticing the sarcasm laced to Merlin's voice.

When Dillon got home, he wasn't surprised to see someone sitting outside the huge gate. "As surprising as it may sound, you should know I'm homeless now." Merlin chuckled as soon as he saw Dillon. "When I saw the news that you beat up Moses Lake, I knew you were in big trouble. I just didn't expect that your father would kick you out." Dillon said the first thing that came to his mind, taking his seat beside Merlin. "My father and his wife have been looking for an opportunity to kick me out for a very long time. Now he can use my actions as an excuse to make David his heir." Merlin smiled bitterly. "You're joking, right?" Dillon raised a brow and tilted her head to look at him, "I heard your father's company is good with interior decorations. And I need a company I can trust to help me with something." "I'm flattered the first Corporation you thought of as soon as you assumed office is my family's." "What does it matter? I'll just ask Dahmer to find another he can trust." Dillon

In Titanium Corporation, Vanessa and Rachel patiently waited in the lobby for Dahmer to show up, but seconds turned into minutes, and minutes to hours and soon they were waiting for three hours. Rachel moved uncomfortably in her seat, her eyes moving around the place in awe and in a little embarrassment. The receptionist had been throwing strange, but familiar glances her way. She shifted her eyes to Vanessa who was happily tapping away on her phone. "We've been here for three hours. Are you sure the chairman will still come today?" Vanessa paused for a moment and glanced up at her, "My father said he'd come. Let's wait one more hour before we leave, or are you tired of waiting?" Vanessa raised an aggressive brow which prompted Rachel to shake her head vigorously. "Of course not! I'll stay with you until we're done here!" "Good." Vanessa said and returned back to her phone. If not that she heard James took a liking to Rachel, she'd never have let someone of her class get close t

Time seemed to stand still as seconds dragged on without Dillon acknowledging Dahmer's presence. While the security men looked at the scene uncomfortably silently trying to convince themselves Dahmer must've made a mistake, they had no idea the insides of his crisp white shirt clung to his body, drenched in cold sweat. As if to make matters worst, Dillon slowly took his foot off the vice captain's back and watched, his face bearing an icy expression. The vice captain ignored the searing pain in his back as he walked towards Dahmer with his nose held high up in the air. Of course, the retard had to let him off because he knew he was in trouble. Once I make Mr. Wade realize he was bowing to the wrong person, there's no telling how messed up he'd make this scoundrel's life be! With his train of thought going that way, the vice captain clearly thought Dahmer would thank him and possibly give him a raise if he cleared the supposed misunderstanding in the air. So as soon as he got to Dah

The captain of the security guards wasn't around, so the vice captain hurried towards Dillon when he was told of who Vanessa's father was. “Truly, this place doesn't seem like a place someone like you should be in. Come with me and I won't have to involve the police.” The vice captain said haughtily, waving his baton threateningly. Dillon, who had been trying to reach Dahmer without success, sighed silently. Brayden wasn't also answering his phone. His lazy eyes settled on the vice captain and the entire squad he had brought with him to impress Vanessa. “I'm here to meet someone. I've tried to reach him, but he isn't answering his phone.” Dillon said in a respectful tone, but he sounded totally overbearing. The vice captain gritted his teeth in anger when he realized he seemed far better than Dillon. This scumbag had no right to talk to him in such manner. “You're waiting for someone? Pfft! That's what they all say when they come into a place like this. They pretend to be good p

"If you keep this up, the school's not going to be happy. Your scholarship is on thin ice," Merlin warned, his voice tinged with annoyance.Moses snapped out of his thoughts, remembering that Dillon was still a scholarship student. If he truly came from an influential family, wouldn't he have put an end to the daily torment he endured?"You'd do well to heed his advice," he sneered, fixing a harsh gaze on Dillon.Dillon, recognizing the tension, reluctantly released the follower's hand."Good boy. Now, do what a good boy does and apologize for your earlier insolence," Moses exhaled, satisfaction evident in his tone, thinking Dillon was finally caving under pressure. With nearly all the students supporting Moses, the odds were stacked heavily against Dillon. Playing along seemed like his best option.Moses grinned smugly, convinced that Dillon was starting to understand his place."Don't test my patience, or it won't end well for you," Moses warned, his patience wearing thin.Dillon gl
